Thanks to all the intellectual speakers for this wonderful discussion of the Mahabharat. I know due to limited time u were only able to scratch the surface of this great epic of the sanatana dharma. Wish one day I will be able to meet u all in person and listen to you all continue this conversation in more depth. Namaste.

Perfectly said ! Not just the Mahabharata itself but each dimension of what the speakers are trying to portray are already done in the Tatparya Nirnaya of Acharya Madhva. Chapter 1 addresses the essence of the Vedas Chapter 2 addresses the adulteration / hijacking of the Mahabharata back in 13th century itself Chapter 2 specifically highlights the 6 types of adulteration (decimation , interpolation , misinterpretation , error while copying / printing errors , grammatical ignorance and finally deliberate agenda based subversion ) Chapter 2 also extols the greatness of the Bharata, it’s comparison with the Vedas in essence , the role of Rishi Vyasa and so on Chapter 3 onwards highlights how Bharata is an encapsulation of everything that one can conceive and perceive through the analogies presented in the Bharata. In a supplementary text (Yamaka Bharatam) : The Acharya highlights the importance of the letter “Bha” to India ! He writes a shloka with only the letter “Bha” repeated in the 4 padas! The commentary expounds the different meanings of this word “Bha” with its combinations and so on .
The moderator is biased, he clearly cutting mr. Nilesh, who has right on the point answers, the fog heads are just talking collected notes, listen to Mr. Nilesh's work on dating of the 2 epics and Rigveda.. that blew my mind.. but the silly moderator wasted the event..

It also extols the greatness of the Bharata through the lens of the Puranas . The Acharya says that Bharata acts as a magnifying lens which exemplifies the ideas of the Vedas through relatable analogies and kathas which bear an impact on the reader at all levels . Chapter 2, Acharya mentions that he travelled across Bharat to find copies of the grantha , compared them , made observations , highlighted the 6 errors and then began his commentary. I have often been conflicted about the reality of both Ramayana and Mahabharata, which are / were taught in my school days as Hindu epics. Many believe these to be Hindu mythology. But, when I hear scholarly work which even try to date events in both these Hindu texts, I feel that these are part history and part mythology. IMO, most of the ancient Hindu texts are allegorical or metaphorical, and not meant to be interpreted as factual. This is where interpreters of ancient Hindu texts go wrong and then become dogmatic about their own beliefs. Like the Panchatantra or Aesop's Tales, Ramayana and Mahabharata ought to be interpreted for their intrinsic or underlying meanings, not as factual events. Only then will these be accepted by both Hindus and others.
Why are you confidently talking on behalf of all hindus and others. Just talk for your self. I will tell you my imagination has no bounds and everything is possible. I term Hindu scripture to be factual. bizarre is in your head. For me anything is possible. Magic is real. explain how a fax works. They didn't provide any correct answers. I tend to agree with European scholars. Can any of the speakers clarify how Vyasa can live so many years and write Mahabharata? He is the son of Satyavati, Shantan's wife. However, he wrote Mahabharat after 4 generations? So his age is around 300-400 years? If they can answer this question, then we can believe it really happened. Otherwise, it is like another story.
