Love this post! Started carving with a pen knife years ago. Still love a thin blade for some things. Been putting off some lettering for a while. Time to have at it now that I have some more ideas in my mental tool box. Brilliant for sure Barn. New word for me knackered is. Got to love this thing we do. Totally worth every knackered moment. Many thanks
Anyone interested in letter carving should look for pictures of Dave Fisher's work. If there's a better letter carver or bowl carver in the world than Mr. Fisher, I haven't found them yet.
Spoon club. A Rusty nail lol ? How about a phaser lol . but seriously jokes aside great video especially seeing the great Carver barn the spoon flexcut makes great folding carving knives too I owns two but you can't beat an old fashioned folding pocket knife legal here in UK 3 inch non locking blade 👍🐾🐺
Hi there! Using the correct grip is the best way to ensure safety when carving. We have lots of videos over at spoonclub.co.uk on knife safety and grips
A rare combo - someone who’s great at the work AND great at teaching people to do it. 👏
Yes those two usually don’t go together ! Rare
Dave Fisher is a phenomenal teacher and craftsman, thanks for sharing this gem!
Great instructions. I just carved along my own R with the video and it was very helpful. Thanks for recording and sharing this one. 👍
Great little demo, he makes it look so easy!

KarlBunker maybe not better but probably considered equal, Jögge Sundvisqt creates some incredible letter carvings! Check him out.
Check out Martin Wenham. 1 of my top 3 favorite carvers.

Another great use for my pocket knife! Definitely gonna try this. How do you stop the knife slipping into your thumb?
