- The pandemic has put in stark relief the inherent health inequities in the United States. Social epidemiologist Shivani Patel provides sobering insights into the numbers and makes a case for effective public health grounded in equity and data. Shivani A. Patel is a social epidemiologist whose ongoing research focuses on cardio-metabolic diseases. Her expertise in this area and the relationship between these diseases and severe COVID-19 symptoms made her a natural choice for the Emory University research team that began tracking COVID-19 infection and death rates in April 2020.
Shivani is leading this team in creating the national COVID-19 Health Equity Dashboard, a free tool that tracks the differences in the impact of the pandemic across communities in the United States with an emphasis on the social determinants of health. She is an Assistant Professor in the Hubert Department of Global Health, Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University.
Shivani also holds an adjunct appointment at the Public Health Foundation of India and is affiliated with the New Delhi-based Centre for Control of Chronic Conditions (4C). In Turkey, the vaccine appointment time is available until night for workers. And medical staff go to homes for get the elders and the peoples live at rural area vaccinated. But we have to take appointment from an app belong to government and it can be complicated for some people. Also the vaccine amount is not sufficient unfortunately..

Health care IS free in America NOW and you can get to a Dr in 30 minutes or less. Keep Canada health care AWAY from me. I don't want to be in a long line waiting for a Dr. !!! My grand father died in Canada waiting 6 weeks on a bed in the hospital hallway for his PACE MAKER battery to get changed, he died when it finally ran out of power. BAD SYSTEM.

The health care needs to change for sure. I'm not sure universal health care like Canada is the answer. Despite Michael Moore's documentary, there are problems with that system and it is not perfect.
@@JaysonT1 I like OBAMA CARE just fine. It's based on the GERMAN model and subsidizes PRIVATE Drs. and PRIVATE hospitals. It works great since 2012!
@@JaysonT1 I'm Canadian and I agree. National health care began in the early 1960s. Too many people took crazy advantage of it. By 1968 I could see where that would take us. A teenaged prophet (ha ha) wishing she had been wrong.
Side note: I wish Moore would stop holding us up as an ideal. Every time he does, we lose what he praises.

The key to have had a better outcome for people with the covid 'pandemic' was to have a metabolically healthy population. If you were obese, diabetic etc etc then you were vulnerable. Why are people so unhealthy is the question to answer, not why did people not have access to questionable jabs. Every system you have is bent....financial, health, media. All the information/education one needs is on the internet, even the poorer communities have a phone. Why did the Government messaging never mention actually getting healthier by cutting out sugar and exercising? Neither cost anything, in fact they save you money.... The system is not set up to save anyone or solve the real problem...it is a sickness system.
This is minor factor in health care . Another way of avoiding dealing with the problem.

As a medical professional I worked with real covid patients for many months and I never got it. It's a bad flu. If you keep your immune system strong, you won't get it or hardly notice if you do.
