It's funny how Peter, Miles, and other Spider-Man characters are being treated better in projects like the Spider-Verse films and the PlayStation Spider-Man games than in their own comics.
I completely agree. They could easily move Miles to California or Chicago, that way Miles can get his own unique villains and we won't wonder "Hey, isn't Peter right down the block? Why isn't he helping!?" and vice versa when Peter fights a big bad and Miles is literally just a stones throw away
True or at least situate him in the upstate New York like Albany, Rochester or Ithcha. Basically make it so it doesn’t seem weird that Miles isn’t bumping into the dozens of heroes in the 5 Boroughs
The fact that Peter and Miles live 6 Miles away and basically never interact is nuts. My friend lives in a different city and I'll still drop by to see him from time to time.
@@georgesokas7511 he is still similar to Batman. I like him though but the whole bat family is redundant. It’s their personalities and stories that make them interesting. I disagree with Benny’s take on Miles.
@@christianrapper Personally, the Batfamily is the most intriguing part of DC Comics. Their interactions with each other are really interesting. Every time I try to make fan fiction/timeline, I start with defining the origins of the Batfamily so I can set up the Titans and JL roster. Marvel ain't got such interwoven relationships. Spiderman can work in a universe alone, as X-Men can too. You can't have Batman without Superman though. Marvel however should follow DC's example and make a Spider family because it would make a lot of sense.
I feel like they did Miles and Peter's relationship best in the videogames. I like the mentorship dynamic. They should make Peter grow up and be a high level hero and become the leader of the Avengers and have an executive position or something at a big bioengineering firm and let Mile's be a friendly neighborhood Spiderman. You can have them interact with each other in which Paker acts as big brother figure
I disagree about the mentor figure. By the point in the comics when he came into the main universe, he was a fully realized hero. He didnt need to be a follower.
Benny hit the nail on the head for the issues. I think the easiest fix would have been to keep Parker Industries active to give reason why Peter isn't available to help or do what was done with most of the other Spider-Men and relocate him to a different area. Kaine operated out of Houston during his Scarlett Spider run, Ben was operating out of Vegas during his last Scarlett Spider run and Ock was in San Francisco during his last Superior run. It allowed them to operate without the Peter question and if the other Spider-Men showed up it generally was a mini event
@@ZatchZXman the problem is always gonna be two fold. As many fans that want Peter to succeed there is an equal amount that want him to remain relatable. That part of the reason it was scraped, people hated Peter taking credit for Doc Ock's achievements but also him being rich and being able to delegate the responsibility of Spider-Man.
@@GexraldH So how is it not relatable again? In real-life Americans have been stealing credit by being the managers for the innovations done in the US since WW2 by foreign intellectuals & thinkers to this current day cause they use resources from there and from there US is benefited by patents and trademarks for work they haven't done on it. US education is and always was good at creating factory workers since the first industrial revolution and US labor laws are implemented on paper by copying them from the eastern Asian countries not even executed so how is this not relatable cause they dont know who is incharge of innovation? Look at apple or sony for that ex getting stagnant in innovation after american ceo took over. The space program in US was spear headed by German & Russian scientists who had immigrated to states after WW2 so what has the US contributed to the world other than mass manufacture method of guns which Chinese had done first and Germans did the first auto rifle along with their automobile achievements. US was put on the map by these intellectuals for something other than guns post WW2 but US's main source of earning has always been from their military contracts and weapon sales in conflicts in ME warzones that is why they spend more on military than any other country cause that is the one which gives em the most returns .
@@me-myself-i787 Peter being broke never made much sense to me either when you consider the fact that Peter Parker canonically is one of the greatest minds on earth when it comes to science/technology. His level of intelligence combined with his physical attributes means that there should be a cornucopia of options for him to make tons of money or own patents. It's like imagining Elon Musk delivering pizza when he could be creating flamethrowers.
Love the video. The issues that you bring up with Miles is the same with every superhero in New York. Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, iron fist, all Spider-men, Moon Knight, Daredevil, The avengers not to mention the X-Men before this current run.
@@drakunauger3324 it’s an important part of the mythos. New York is not a small place, this is like saying Greek mythological poetry is too obsessed with Greece.
@@sparkylynx8723 I'm no history buff, but Greece stayed relatively within it's shores, and thought themselves the center of the world, while Marvel, having less time, had expanded farther than Greece ever did, had more practical world knowledge than Greece (though one could argue that Greece contributed to that), and has had writers from all over contribute to its collective mythos. This is to say that the Marvel mythos is greater/larger than the Greek mythos, still considered more active/alive than Greek mythos, and we should judge it as such because we all contribute to it.
@@sparkylynx8723 New York isn't that big. It's only 302 square miles with a massive population of 8.468 million. the largest city in the world, in square miles is 205,400. while the population is only 23,123. the largest city in the US is 2,870 square miles, with a population scraping the bottom of the barrel with just only 8,407 people. New York feels big because of its verticality and its population. the reason there are so many characters living in the big apple, is because thats where most of the writers themselves come from.
Honestly this would not be nearly as big of a problem if they actually let Peter finally move on to the next part of his life and be an adult. Maybe even have a kid. I don't understand the obsession with trying to keep Peter young and relatable. We already have a young and relatable Spider-Man now that Miles is in the main universe.
The fact that they just don’t make Miles “Ultimate Spider-Man” and Peter just stays Amazing Spider-Man will always leave me flabbergasted at who at Marvel really didn’t make this easy distinction.
Honestly bold choice for using the Into the Spiderverse as a thumbnail, even though for many people its where Miles was properly able to become his own character instrad of being Peter Parker but even younger.
Loses his uncle and fights a bunch if Peter's villains. The problem still persist in that version. Too bad tho. The drafts of the movie seemed like they were gonna REALLY dive into him as a character
That is such a incorrect statement. Even this video contradicts that. Miles was great at the beginning in the ultimate universe. He WAS his own character. Its now, in the mainline universe he is so pointless.
@@no.1spidey-fan182 Into The Spider-verse is his origin story, and he is a great character, he has a unique personality, his own loss, and is inspired by other Spider-people, and helps inspire them too. I look forward to what his arc will be in Across The Spider-verse.
Been saying this exact same thing for years. Miles was an amazing character picking up the mantle and moving forward. Throwing them into the main continuity cheapens his character Parker sacrifice and everything else. No idea what you would do but just feels bad.
@Immanuel have you read any spidermman comics? They interact a lot. Peter is a grown man with his own problems. Miles has his own parents. They aren’t going to meet everyday. Benny’s rant really doesn’t make any sense.
@Immanuel you’re trying to ascribe real world logic to a world where two teenagers got bit by radioactive spiders and got nebulous mystical spider powers. Also, Marvel has a sliding time scale. We don’t even know if he actually was gone a month in world. If we’re going for realism then Miles should have been on a milk carton because he was missing for a month. Miles is his own character. He interacts with Peter enough. Complaining about Peter not showing up is like complaining about why Peter is broke despite having a. Multi-billion dollar company. The dude had international connections and he should have money saved somewhere. It’s comics. It’s the same reason that Ironman or the Avengers don’t show up in his comics when Peter is fighting villains that could potentially cause catastrophic damage to New York.
It just seems like a thing that happens in comics. Why does Superman allow Gotham to get taken over every other month when he is right across the river? Because it's a Batman book. Why don't Miles & Peter fight together every day? Because they are in different books. Such a nonissue
Since you mentioned it at the end, currently there's no problem with Nightwing. In fact I'd say that his the best he has ever been currently. Of course I'm 100% biased because he's my all-time favourite comic book character. I mean the worst things you could say about him are his time as a Rick Grayson and the whole agent of Spyral thing.
I'm still pretty frustrated with the Babs thing. Anyway I give DC a year, if that, especially with the spotlight on Dick to spearhead the latest relaunch/post-crisis (Dawn of DC).
@@vullord666 I adore the Dick and Barbara relationship. One of the many reasons I love Nightwing as much as I do is because unlike Batman he is able to have stable and healthy relationships which is why both the one with Kory and Barbara are great in their own ways. Personally I much prefer him with Barbara.
@@gargleme5544 I feel you. And while Dick Grayson is my favourite comic book character of all time I will say that my favourite Robin his Tim Drake (at least from the 90's to the early 2010's). I know a lot of people like to argue about whether or not Dick should be with Barbara or Kory but personally I definitely prefer Barbara.
I think it's soooo funny that miles is not allowed to be a side-kick, yet the training montage in the movie felt very part-time sidekick-ie. And in the games, Miles 10000% feels like a side-kick. The same way Nightwing feels kinda like a "sidekick-but-not".
Dude he honestly sounds way more interesting as a sidekick to spiderman. I just think it's unnecessarily confusing having 2 spidermen known as Spiderman in the same universe
The context matters. When Nightwing operates with Batman, he appears like a sidekick. When he's on his own, he is his own hero. Even when Dick became Batman, Bruce was "dead." Miles' context is that Peter died in his universe. There was no sidekick position that he took in between to revert back to. His existence relies on Peter not being there, or else he becomes a sidekick inherently by being younger and under his tutelage.
@@Raymal100 Spoiler: no sidekick "feels" like a sidekick when they are on their own, that's kinda the whole point. :/ Like, even BUCKY (pre-WSing) wouldn't feel like a side kick if he had his own stand-alone adventure. Aqua lad, Miss Marvel, Kid Flash, Star Girl no sidekick feels like a sidekick when the hero they are attached to isn't involved. Just saying, kinda a mute point is all.
@Hadeks Marow it's less about how they feel, more about the audience. If there is a starting point of sidekick, that is the context of the character even if they take on their mentor's role. That's how we see it. Miles is a replacement for Peter. Hard to replace someone when they're still around.
To be honest, I like Miles Morales in Spider-man Into the Spider-Verse. I never got the chance to read Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales. but then, I started to like him when I learned about the story arcs he was involved like Spider-Men(when he met 616 Peter Parker), Cataclysm(where he's fighting 616 Galactus), and Secret Wars. He had his own Clone Saga which was way better than the Spider-Man Clone Saga with Ben Reilly. right now, Miles Morales is going to fight Carnage in the event, Carnage Reigns. For me, Miles Morales is his own Spider-Man because he's "doing his own thing". He's being himself. This is why I love Miles Morales as Spider-Man, because he stands out from Peter Parker. He's one of my favorite Black Superheroes next to Luke Cage, Falcon, and Black Panther. Let's face it, I want to read Miles Morales from the Ultimate Universe before I get started on his 616 runs.
@@CrossOutBryce Seconded, I believe he’s doing so much better in 616. Especially after Saladin Ahmed gave him some much needed life and character and now Ziglar is just killing it with Miles!
The issue is that this is a problem for most comics. A majority of heroes are stationed in NewYork, how any crime happens there is a mystery. Generally heroes are condensed to tightly into very popular places, but how much crime are you going to fight in Montana. As the list of heroes expands it’s only going to become more pronounced. Having alternate universes is a good way to pair the amount down and keep them where they make the most sense.
Yup. Either pair them down, have different universes, or pull a DC and switch different heroes to different states/cities. Having too many of the same person in the same environment will quickly get played out and leave the readers bored
This is why DC is better. Each hero has their own place. If they are in the same city they work together often. More believable than everyone is in New York but never interact
I read the entire ultimate run without being spoiled about Peter some years back and as heart broken as I was about that, I ended up loving Miles a ton. Then secret wars happened, I kept up with Miles for like 16 issues and dropped it for exactly the issue of Peter and Miles being in the same city but still acting like they were in two sepreate universes. A waste of Peter's death and my own personal one more day retcon with Miles' new backstory.
I literally asked for this in the last one. Let's go. Also 10:34 is the perfect pun 😂. It would be fine if they weren't teaming up as much if they stopped acting like Miles is weak. I wasn't aware he was supposed to remember his past which makes it more dumb because he always seems to be scared now when he had mad confidence in the ultimate universe after he started getting used to his powers. I really became aware of the problem when Miles had his birthday and Peter came by, said happy birthday, and then gave him a place to check out for villain activity on HIS BIRTHDAY and then dipped immediately. Miles was not even comfortable putting on the suit cause he was kidnapped and he for some reason doesn't want to tell Peter (but if that's his level of relationship I wouldn't either cause that is so out of character for Peter to get someone else to deal with something especially when they are a teen and especially when it's their birthday). The other thing is they keep copying storylines Peter had for no reason. If Miles is in another universe and had a clone saga I can see that but why does he have to have one in the 616 universe (also they rely on his uncle to much to move the plot cause their relationship should not be the same has Peter and the green goblin).
They made it seem like he can’t hold his own. He’s still superhuman with a spider sense and unique electric powers. He should be able to beat mostly everyone he faces.
@@johnthai6188 He shouldn't Supermans obstacles shouldnt be things he can just beat with power alone. Superman has a set of ideals that go beyond his dull god hood.
Turning Miles into a sidekick would be a horrible idea after he was the Spider-Man from the ultimate universe. I get the idea of why they don’t cross over the Spider-Men when they are so close can be frustrating though, but I understand the writers trying to give them room to breathe.
17:45 In the pre-Crisis continuity, Metropolis is located in the east side of Delaware, while Gotham is located in the southwest side of New Jersey. The two cities have a bridge that connects to each other, making sure that they’re the World’s Finest Cities.
What makes perer parker so powerful is his admiration of a great man which is uncle ben. Uncle bens influence on peter parker makes him so powerful. It their character.
It's funny because I remember when they decided "Hey we made Kaine normal after Spider-Island, let's give him a series" And right away they sent him to Houston, Texas and he did his own stuff.
Miles is my second favorite marvel character behind Peter. It’s too bad he is going to progress more than Peter if things keep going like this though. Peter has to perpetually be a man child
Miles is OK. His original stories are good, but when they do versions of Pete's stories, multiversal, clones, high school, all that goes through my head is Pete's done this all already
@@thetrynes There’s a lot of highlights in his original run besides his origins. Like his uncle dying due to an accident while him and Miles were fighting, his mom being killed by a stray bullet that she unfortunately got hit by, it was meant for Venom. Miles stopped being Spider-Man for a year after that. Then during Ultimatum 2 he revealed his identity to his dad, who said he killed his uncle and his mom died because of him, then he disowned him and ghosted him. Then there’s finding out that his girlfriend and her family were part of Hydra via abduction by her dad and learning it from her. Those are some of the highlights of his run. It’s not just his origins.
@@windghost2 Interesting. Besides redoing Spiderman No More, it sounds like there are some things that sound somewhat interesting about Miles. It may be cool if they adapt some of these in the game and on screen. Thanks for the info.
That is crazy how close they are. I actually had an idea for a fanfic where Spider-Man is chasing a villain, swings down a street to cut off said villain but ends up crashing into a warehouse where Daredevil is surrounded by Hand ninjas fighting for Fisk. Daredevil remarks that Spider-Man arrived just in time. So then Peter has to play it off like he had meant to do this and figure out what’s going on. (If any Marvel comic writers are watching this video, please use this idea 😆)
So they keep them living 15 minutes from each other but instead of doubling down and at least having them team up they decide to have it make no sense. My protégé Miles has been missing, what should I do? Nothing. This is so contradictory...
Thank You! I literally couldn't agree more! This is the problem I have with Miles, I feel like they just shoehorn him into stuff now with little character development and kinda makes him feel more like a "sidekick" rather than Spider-Man, most of the time. They really should have never ended the Ultimate universe. I will make two small corrections, Mile's first costume was a Cosplay/Halloween costume and his second costume the black and red suit was given to him by SHIELD.
@@sonicdihedgehog1 Exactly. Everyone saying that Miles is a sidekick really should read the crossover events him and Peter have been having since Secret Wars. Him and Miles’s relationship is a partnership and a cool bros relationship because they both share the name Spider-Man. They’re equals and Peter NEVER treats him lesser than himself or as a sidekick. He’s not hand holding him or spoon feeding him at all. If anything they’ll compare notes and help each other if the time calls for it.
The name thing is also my problem with the Batgirls book. I think instead of them calling each other batgirl, they should just be referred to as The Batgirls by news outlets as enemies because they are the girl bats. But they should refer to each other by their alternative codenames like oracle and spoiler.
I’ve grown to really like Miles more through the years and so heavily agree that Miles always works best as his own main hero. He is Spider-Man after all and the only thing I’ve seen really work well with Miles and Peter working together is Insomica’s Spider-Man games where they do team up and help each other a lot. Peter is truely his mentor and gonna actually be able to play as both of them in the next game. ITSV Miles is my favorite Miles to date. He is his own universes Spider-Man and he was able to still have a grown Peter be his mentor but again he’s able to be on his own.
It's strange that Marvel never took the cue from Nightwing to give Miles a new city to take care of. 616 Brooklyn can't be the same as Ultimate Brooklyn anyway, might as well have him start out in a new place
miles to his own personality his own patients it is you who do not have them these stories he is not a copy of Peter there is an excellent legacy character
@@guywholikesheelies3231 miles already has his own villain galleries like Zip zephyr, rabble, quantum, ultimatum, agent gao, bumbler, hightail, accessor, black obsidian
Do they let ANY spider person grow properly? Also, here's an alternative supername for Miles: Spider Shock. What's that? It's derivative? Ohhhhhhh NooOoOoo!
I genuinely agree with this video. Miles being in his own separate universe made him more unique. I feel like there is too many Spider people in 616 alone, Kaine and Ben should be the only spider characters in 616 (not counting Spider Woman as I consider her separate from the whole Spider-Man mythos). As long as Miles is in the same universe where Peter is alive, he will always be the OTHER Spider-Man it doesn’t matter how many stories establish that he is Spider-Man if Peter is literally right there.
Honestly I would just killer off Kaine and Ben in a battle, give Miles the name of The Scarlet Spider and let him be his own hero is a different city. Maybe Chicago or like Philly. Then fucking let Peter grow older, and when he hits like 40 have him retire and give the mantle of Spider Man to Miles who can then become Maydays mentor, even have her call him "Uncle Miles"
@@carolusrex5213 Honestly calling two people spider-man while both are in active duty is weird. I get it when Miles took over for a dead Peter, but if Peter's alive, he should forge his own identity.
they wanted to race swap Peter and it didn’t work. So now we are in a situation where we have 2 Spiderman in the same city 5 miles away from each other, never interacting. They either have to move Miles to a different city, universe or give him different name
I know they try to throw Peter in there every now and then. Honestly at this point the two should just have a book together. Cuz I refuse to believe Miles goes missing that long and Peter doesn't tear the city a new one looking for him. Sometimes they remember, "oh yeah Miles is Peters protege!" The two should be fighting machines and so much can be done with the dynamic. But we're to focused on making Peter miserable and Miles to stand out in a city of full of spider people. Especially since he's sharing villains now and the ones that are his own are a real mixed bag.
Metropolis and Gotham being so close always makes me laugh cause imagine having one side of the river sunny and rainbows while the other side is always cloudy and dark
@@carolusrex5213 I prefer this way too, each hero "having" his own state and family heroes like Batman and Nightwing living in the same state but different cities
"Put him in California" You don't even need to go that far. Have him get into College in Massachusetts and send him to Boston. That way he keeps that east coast vibe and if they actually wanted him to pop back into New York for a visit, its a bus ride.
That restaurant analogy was brilliant Benny. I like Laura Kinney better as X23. I liked her look better and I actually liked the name X23. I think Miles would have been better if they gave him a different name and a more original costume. Black Recluse?
Listen, if you’re not from NY, don’t go by the miles away. NY has buildings, subways, and is packed. Queens and Manhattan are no where near walking distance from each other. No one walks the length of NYC…
I think the greatest fall of Miles as a character is how desperate Marvel is trying to push him as "Spiderman" just so they can plasture black spiderman everyone. That worked in the ultimate universe not only because it was a different universe for the actual purpose of being a different universe, but Peter Parker is dead in that universe and actually got a honorable departure to his life and story(not rushed and character assassinated for the sake of pushing someone new) So he's addition was generally a nice replacement, especially since he didn't feel to force into the spiderman role/name. Now, not only is it awkward that he's named spiderman when spiderman is literally right there and alive, which is kinda weird that no one has a issue with Miles basically commiting ID theft with a living hero's name. But now so much of Miles just wrap around going, "Miles is Spiderman! Miles is Spiderman, look he did this Spiderman like thing!" that it makes him addition to the name "spiderman" feel extremely fake. Hell, the PS4 Miles game pissed me off cause they straight up had a civilian go, "See I always liked spiderman but I kinda wished he looked like me" a year after spiderman had to fight 6 super villain bad guys in a short amount of time while curing/saving a entire city from being poison. I repeat, this man witness 1 person over the course of like a week or two, fight SIX high grade Super Powered Villains while ALSO trying to save a city that was wide-spread poisoned. And his thought process was "Damn he saved us all....... Wish he was blacked though" which is more pissing off when you realize Peter had to let Aunt May die and this guy is more concerned about what Peter's skin color is. So yeah, I feel like that's what soured Miles as a character. He should've had a name change and possible costume change when he moved over to the main universe that way he has his own space and name, and can be incorperated to Spiderman projects without being invasive about it.
pretty much that on the ps4 paragraph, its all in vain and vanity : cheap validation "i want this looking like me" which won't happen cause no one is ever like you, surface level trait similarities is just looking for vain similarities and it shows in the identity politics that they think that's a good thing, to only care when it looks similar to themselves than of their character traits
As a New Yorker, the way the subway works the only way to get to Queens from Brooklyn is to travel in this crazy roundabout way through the Bronx, Manhatten, and finally Brooklyn, it'll take you like an hour and a half or more, depending on where in Brooklyn you're going. Or you can take the LIRR and get there in 25 minutes but they only travel like once an hour, and it'll cost you $15 buck, and even then you'll be in downtown Brooklyn and still have to take the subway for up to an hour or more depending on where in Brooklyn you want to go.
This is the thing that bugs me the most is that they won't give Miles a new hero name. He needs a new name to grow as his own character. I first thought they would do it when they gave him the new costume, the one where it was basically an oversized hoodie, and him just wearing a ski mask. It brings up this issue of why DC and Marvel are not selling many books, and that is because you have multiple books named Spider-Man or Batman on them, which makes it so confusing for anyone wanting to start reading them. Also, Dc is now having this issue with there now being Batman Bruce Wayne and Batman Tim Fox in the I Am Batman series.
Oh I completely HATE how they keep putting the same names on books because those names sell copies, it is extremely stupid, because instead of getting me interested it gets me all confused as to which I want and I end up getting none. It was already bad enough with Detective Comics, Action Comics and then Superman And Batman, its just too crazy now.
I completely disagree! There's so many characters that have this problem that I don't see it as a problem anymore or at least a problem not specific to Miles. New York in general is overcrowded with heroes from Moonknight, the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Luke Cage etc. And there's so many stories that essentially fall apart when you question why these heroes aren't communicating with each other or never have regular interactions (outside of the plot). Worse than that it seems like they each carry their own set of Villains with very little overlap. People like Kingpin seem to get around a lot but like you never see the Green Goblin or Doc Ock or Sandman having a one on one with Luke Cage or MoonKnight or Daredevil. Are you telling me they only rob banks in SpiderMans neighborhood? On there other hand whole criminal organizations like the Hand almost NEVER run into Spiderman.
I don’t see how them being within the same city and not teaming up every day is an issue. Let’s not forget how many other superheroes are also in New York and they all barely interact with each other. We have the fantastic 4, the avengers, daredevil, dr. Strange, and so many others and yet they don’t interact with each other all the time. It’s not hard to believe miles and Peter only interact once in a while.
$41 is cheap? LOL. That is a scary idea for someone to claim that is cheap. Unless you are the CEO of a company that is absurdly expensive. That could pay for 30 gallons of gas. That is like 2-3 weeks of non-stop driving on a gas-efficient car. That is also like HALF the amount it cost for a week of groceries if you are cooking meals. That is HALF the price of wifi, or a cellphone plan. That is a lot of money.
I always maintain miles Morales Spider-Man only works in his own universe from the very beginning and putting him in the mainstream marvel universe was really bad idea from the very beginning in my opinion.
For me, I always took it as so much craziness happens in new york, that they are both kept busy. In one issue (after thd Accessor stuff) Peter stops by Miles home on his b-day and gives him a mission he was gonna investigate in Brooklyn....but decided it would be best left to brooklyn's spider-man During Mile's clone arc Peter tried to help, but Miles wanted to handle this personally. New York has several heroes, each story would be a crossover for many heroes of they all decided to handle the same crimes.
And there's also the fact that with merchandise, Miles is called Miles Morales and Peter is called Spider-Man. Miles isn't even called Ultimate Spider-Man on the merch. The only time I've actually seen Miles' costume called Ultimate Spider-Man is on Spider-Man: Edge of Time. And that's because he wasn't introduced yet or something. And the fact that when you say Spider-Man, you'll immediately think "red and blue, black around the eyes, Queens, great power responsibility, Peter", you don't think "black and red, Brooklyn, great expectations, Miles". You only think that when you say Miles Morales. Miles is rarely ever called Spider-Man on anything except his own universe. The Ultimate universe. Edit: I wrote this halfway thru listening to the video. He did point out the name thing. Now I know.
As someone from New York. I gotta say you’re wrong. Depending on what part of Brooklyn Miles is from, he might not be close enough to be seen my Peter. New York is a lot bigger and spread out then you think cause of the map. And a lot of their stories take place in the city/Manhattan. Which is lot busier/ large than queens or Brooklyn and harder to see cause of the big buildings
To be honest that can be said about all the other superheroes based out of New York in the marvel universe, how come they never interact but I get what you're saying about letting Miles be his own hero.
For me, Miles character arc is a simple one. A younger Spider-man that has Peter as his mentor. How ever that arc never became reality, and it's too late now.
As someone who grew up in nyc.. redhook to be exact and went to hs om the border of brooklyn and queens i can assure you that its not 15 minutes apart.. by train its at least an hour and a half by car its close to 45 minutes.. 7 nyc miles is not the same as 7 miles in any other state.. i have a cousin who lived in Brooklyn and didn’t see him for 11 years
Miles is the inverse of Peter but only superficially Peter is poor, Miles is middle class Peter was an outcast, Miles was relatively popular Peter is an orphan raised by a single parent, Miles has a full family Peter went to public school, Miles goes to private This is what we call "Going WIDE and NOT DEEP". The writers have YET to dive deep into ANY of this to write compelking stories and characters around him so Miles just borrows Peter's villains for the most part. Its so SAD😭. He has no villains written AROUND his character...because he has NO noteworthy CHARACTER traits outside of being a COWARD(which they didnt dive into fully at all, like they constsntly play on Peters selfishness and anger issues) just superficial traits. If I were to ask you what Miles stood for, you'd have no answer, unlike with just about any other well estalbished to even B list Heroes He doesnt even have a well established Archenemy yet and he's been around for 10 PLUS YEARS🤦♂️. His most popular villain Prowler...is just an alt universe version of PETER'S PROWLER. I mean COME ON. He had a game and technically a movie...and he just fought versions of PETERS VILLAINS. I say technically because the original draft of the film actually dove deeply into Miles personal story, the finished draft left us with CRUMBS in comparison to shift focus to the Spiderverse aspects...funnily enough they are ALL more interesting that Mikes himself...even Gwen who was just a WHAT IF story😭💀. And in the next spiderverse he is fighting yet ANOTHER Peter villain😐🤦♂️ I get that he took up the mantle but Even Batman Beyond had his OWN villains with some loose easter eggs of older ones. Miguel Ohara is a waaaay better character than Miles...because he has an ACTUAL CHARACTER to build original stories on and not just rehash Peter's stories...not to mention all his powers outside base phsyical enhancements work different to Peter's. Miles on the other hand just has two UNDRdeveloped plot devices tacked on to Peters powers🤦♂️🤷♂️ This wouldnt be so bad if Marvel actually PROPERLY ESTABLISHED the Spider Family but they have proven time and time again that recently they have NO IDEA what to do with ANY of these spider characters. Cough Chasm Cough. Thank god for the spiderverse movies cause the comics are TRASH🤦♂️ Miles has Potential and A LOT of it...but he will NEVER achieve it if 1. Keeps carrying the name of a character with 60 years of LEGACY in a universe where that character is still alive 2. Has NO DEFINED origin story since unlike Peter In EVERY adaptation for Miles they just keep switching the location of his Spider Bite and his motivations. Hence why in the span of 2 years we get 2 completely different adaptations for him Spiderverse that is closer to the comics and The game...where they legit just made him...Peter, he's smart as Peter AND enthusiastic about being Spider-Man when its supposed to be the opposite💀.
I think their is a bigger problem with Miles as it feels that the creators just gave up on him. Like they are trying to De-age Peter to have young adult adventures which, just saying, would work just as easy with Miles. Let's let Peter grow up, be an adult, have a family... Let's let Miles be the young teenager trying to figure life out. I loved the "Renew your vows" books for this reason. Also, Miles really does need a new name. The "Kid Arachnid" (Which was the actual name) didn't work. In the Disney Jr cartoon, they acknowledge 2 "Spider-Man" would be problematic so they renamed him "Spin" which is even worse. I dunno. He needs his own identity. (But yes, now he really is one in a million Spider-men)
@@carolusrex5213 I can't agree to that as Scarlet Spider is someone else's thing. He does need a new name but something like Shadow Spider or something.
I still like the idea miles being validated as spider-man, but I always thought is would be cool if he inherited the name prowler cause it’s a really cool name and I would be like him clearing the prowlers bad rep as well
Robbie reyes worked cuz he was his own character and ghost rider is group of people like nova or green lantern. Miles is just peter but black. Like that's it. How do we make him unique marvel thinks to themselves, oh lets give him electricity powers like every other black superhero.
I think Miles is in a great place rn currently. He's far better than the Garbage they are doing with Jon Kent and Superman. I certainly think he's better than the other spiders out rn. Kaine and Ben Reilly have been garbage for decades. Only niche people know about them. They are also discount Peters. Even in the PS4 they have a great sidekick relationship that works. The comics unfortunately haven't gone there because spiderman writing has been nothing but dogwater (and it still is). But Miles definitely still sets him apart dude to the movies and games. It's just in the comics he's in a weird place but thats ok. There is certainly far worse and more ruined characters (flash family, batman, black panther, fantastic four)
@HLZeron in video games, he only thrives as being a Spiderman that's kind of a fill-in. In movies, he's the poster boy of multivariate Spiderverse. But other than that, for someone to tell his own story, it can never be without comparing or contrasting from Peter parkers Spiderman. Even Spider ghost/Gwen does this but Gwen is more self aware.
i mean a character taking over a mantle over a character that hasn't finished their stories can work: kate bishop as hawkeye, that one time nightwing was batman, x-23 as wolverine, at the moment falcon as captain america, or all 3 of the batgirls.
@John Thai Nightwing took over as a substitute, not as a permanent or alongside batman. Kate Bishop doesn't feel like she's taking over the mantle but just being Hawkeye (2). X23 as wolverine earned that mantle. And all three Batgirls end up being obtaining their own. So just like the Robin, Batgirl is a rite of passage, not the end goal. I do not agree that Falcon worked as captain America. Especially in the comics.
@@kevinvu5432 why doesn't miles feel like kate in your opinion? because to me, i feel like they are in the same ball park of a superhero using a mantle of another person. and when it comes to falcon being cap, you think it worked better in the mcu?
@John Thai I'm not saying Miles feel like Kate. For me, Kate Bishop is kind of like Green Arrow and Speedy/Red Arrow/Arsenal. Only KB doesn't get more interesting as time passes. She just sticks with the homeostasis of interesting. Miles started off as taking over the mantle. It makes sense why he had to make his own costume instead of using Peter parkers. His journey was his own. But since they combined it. His origin doesn't make sense. He's not Peter parkers apprentice but he is still attached to Peter.
I like that the movie & Sony games at least clean this up a little by using both of those options: in the films Peter’s dead so Miles is the only, while in the games they do just partner up and patrol together (unless otherwise occupied)
Is kinda funny how Marvel and DC had the same problem with two heroes that can cross the multiverse have two persons wearing the same name. Peter and Miles as Spider-Man and Barry and Wally as The Flash. And what’s weird is that there was a comic from DC (can’t remember the name now) that had Barry tell Wally “You’re not my sidekick. No matter what the others say. You’re a Flash. If anything, you’re my partner” and that made me smile. Cause they made both Barry and Wally both be the Flash, while not giving less value to either of them. Marvel could’ve done something like that for Miles and Peter now that they’re on the same universe. True, having them on the same city is the big issue. So make Miles move somewhere else and make him the Spider-man of that city feels right. Heck, on the Miles Morales game they had to take Peter away from New York so Miles can have his personal challenges. That trip with MJ was just a plot key to take Peter away, and just on this new game we’ll have them actually team up like they should do normally.
The difference though is Wally is the definitive Flash for many. Speed Force, eat a lot for energy and lighthearted personality. These Flash quality are all developed under Wally. I fail to see how Miles Morales can update the Spider-Man lore like Wally did. Thus Wally despite started off as a sidekick is a Flash no less than Barry. While Morales never was sidekick to Peter, he feels like one did to how similar he and Peter operates
I kind of like that the insomniac games just have them working together. It just makes sense when they're that close to each other. Even if the villain to his game wasn't that great it was still his own mission while peter was out of town. Now in Spider-man 2 they're working together and it looks like miles is gonna have to fight symbiote peter to free him from it.
Idk who’s spending $45 on an uber…but I feel like Peter “respects” Miles to let him do his thing. The whole missing for a month was weird. I did think that “end of spider-verse” was how they were going to get Miles his own universe again and be on some “no more multiversal travel.” But I do agree that it might be time for Miles, once he graduates hs, to get his own city. Maybe (hopefully) that’s what Marvel is waiting for? Idk, he’s getting his own carnage story this summer so we’ll have to see what happens with that.
I think my only reason why I don't necessarily care how close they are is because like EVERY super hero is there. Spider-Man, the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the Defenders/Heros for Hire, & and in some iterations the X-Men. So yeah I can see them not teaming up because NOBODY does. Just because they have similar powers doesn't mean they have to be attached at the hip (even if it's only a 10 minute swing).
Miles just needs to become Nightwing to Peter's Batman. Drop the spider-man moniker give him his own name (doesn't need to be spider connected), keep his abilities and let him do his own thing
Nah. He is still spider-man. He just needs to be written unattached to Peter. Its like they are afriad to show feats and strength with him, out of fear that he will be stronger than Peter. So what?
17:24 I think I read maybe one or two of Miles Morales Spiderman. He seems good I like him. But not sure I'd follow his ongoing series. Based on the stuff you were saying about, his origins from the Ultimate Universe, why not bring a version of that back? A space where you can be a little more experimental with new characters and have figures like Miles Morales as the sole Spider-Man there along with other characters that maybe were having trouble in main Marvel or something, but now have space to be their own thing. And then have the status quo Earth 616 universe still going and being the familiar thing for those not as interested in the Neo-Ulimate version characters. (I had to have some kind of a name, that was the first thing that came to mind on the spot) You can still have the other characters meet each other like when 616 Peter met Miles, but maybe make it a little difficult as to how they do that. Or perhaps maybe have there be little hole spots between those particular universes where some people or things fall through time to time, weird stuff here and there. Could be something you use in case there are a few mistakes that happen here and there, like something fell through the universe potato holes or something. Also before I forget I think for the Neo-Ultimate Universe, maybe they could set up ahead of time exactly what they want to do and not do as far as setting it apart from regular 616 or something. Also I think they'd have to figure out who they want to move over to the Neo-Ultimate Section and who to keep as is in 616. I'm not really sure who I'd move and for what reasons. They probably won't be able to do anything like this due to this being a little bit expensive or something. But based on what you were saying, I thought this could be one possible solution. Ideally smarter people might be able to tackle the issues and parts I might've missed from the first draft idea I put out here. Think something like this is a decent-ish first start of something to amend what you brought up as far as having issues for Miles Morales?
Honestly, to me thats always been the biggest problem with every fucking character being based in New York. Like, the fact that every issue isn't a team up is insane when both Spider-Men, Daredevil, Punisher, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and the entire fucking Avengers are all in the same city
I feel like if Peter and Miles were to coexist, there needs to be a relationship between them. If not a mentor-mentee then at least a partnership. What Insomniac is doing with Peter and Miles is working wonders, and even the Spider-Man Life Story story run had Miles as Peter's student. There is so much potential to be had from the dynamic between the two. But of course, having Peter be a mentor to Miles would mean Peter growing up, which Marvel Editorial is heavily allergic against, lol.
Miles being Spider-Man makes no sense. He is basically a copycat in 616 and no sane media show would call 2 heroes with the same name, they would invent nicknames to make things easier to inform. Editorial should move him to another state and maybe make him change his name to something like "Shadow Stalker" or something. I would move him to new Orleans, I think that would work.
Miles just gets sloppy seconds from Pete story lines villains even his girlfriend Gwen wither they are together or not that’s peters dead ex Eric July goes more in depth with miles
I agree. Personally, I like how 616 has a whole bunch of spider-men. Then they even just added spider-boy, but you are right if miles and peter are so close, they need to interact a lot more. Miles even said in the first spider-verse event that he looked up to peter, and with the way people are hating on 616 peter rn, giving him a better mentor role in miles life where he can actually pass on his 20 years of experience instead of peter's whole character revolving around MJ would improve his character. They should get a series like Deadpool/spider-man from 2016. But a way for them to give miles his own character again is since he is about to graduate let him go to college in another state.
The problem with Miles is that he was NEVER an interesting character, to begin with; from the beginning, he was just a blackwashed version of Peter Parker(sure, some little details were different, invisibility and piece of a shit uncle, but overall, he was very much the same). I was around the internet and on Twitter, and I can tell you almost nobody liked him as a replacement for Peter in the ultimate universe and even called him a cheap knock. Even the creator admitted that Miles's purpose was to be a diverse replacement. The character wasn't ruined; he was dead on arrival. Does that mean he doesn't have potential; Hell no! Look at the movie Into the Spider-Verse, that movie pretty much fixed him or made him a better character than in the comics. It's a shame really, watching this video his character has become a wasted potential.
I do not think he was dead on arrival, but he did not get a proper entrance. Although getting minority reported by carol danvers is a helluva way to bring em in. Also I do not think we should take twitter into any account, seeing as anything a hint of different or counter to their minds just leads to a hate war and doxxing.
I was there when miles morales was replaced. Only haters who hated him before he came out, continued to hate him. In the ultimate universe, his comics were well loved and he was great. Thats why he was the only ultimate character to come into the main universe and he headlined that event. His comics sold very well, and his stories were incredibly personal with alot of overarching development throughout arcs. Coming to the mainline universe, made writers force to not make him grow at all, else he would look stronger and better than Peter...because that would be so bad.. Else he is in purpetual sidekicky limbo. He also isnt a blackwashed peter. His entire story, friendshps, background and relationships are different from peter. He literally had nothing in common except spider powers. That was a lie that whenever people get asked to elaborate with reasons why he is, never actually can,.
It's so weird hearing benny talking about marvel now when he meant to say all new all different. Marvel now was the beginning of hickman's avengers/new avengers, superior spiderman, bendis's all new xmen which lead to hickman's secret wars which is what lead to all new all different, which is where laura kinney wolverine happens.
Honesty since the day he came out all I've heard from old heads is "he's not peter! He's not white!" Not my opinion but what I've always heard from older guys. And he is one of my favorites because he has the complex where he doesn't think he will ever be as good as Peter Parker and live up to his hero! It felt real to me reading those pages!
I see a lot of the "oldheads" you were speaking of in the comments. It's disappointing because I think they're just using the video as justification to their hatred of Miles as Spider-Man just because he's Black (& no focus at all on his mixed Latinx heritage)
@Drakun Auger No, it has nothing to do with miles being black/ latina, the problem is he not his own character with his own moniker who stand out on there own instead use classic hero moniker to give these new character legitmancy, It just lazy and makes the original moniker redundent
@@brendangatenby8066 well I .ight be wrong but I have never heard the same arguments and complaints a out spider Gwen, scarlet spider, spider woman, spider girl, silk, ect it is mostly about him being black and I'm sure their is a lot of feelings with it mostly being about the love people have for Peter Parker, I don't remember people being upset over Ms Marvel when she became captain marvel it with wolverine being a woman and wearing the same costume as Logan. I don't think it would've been as big of a deal if he had been white. But a lot of the unique qualities he has wouldn't be the same if he wasn't a black Latino from Brooklyn! The current run actually lets miles be a hero on his own. Especially after all the Beyond mess. He’s actually written within current times and not forced. He crosses over with characters that are fitting given he is a teenager and needs more guidance and skills outside of what peter does (Misty Stone gave him alot of great guidance so far.) He has his own bubble of sorts and has a better team working on his line than current peter things. I feel they are actually doing whats best for miles right now and letting him fill out as a person. At least he is not set in texas like the scarlet spider once was 💀
Marvel and DC have such a problem with creating new universes, then merging it with their old stuff. Their strategy really breaks down to doing a new continuity for new readers, so it’s not as intimidating, THEN merging it and making them learn the old stuff. It’s like they wanna punish the reader for getting into their new ideas with bloated ass lore. It’s so stupid. This is why comics sell less than manga. It’s just so much simpler to get into
I disagree. Bringing Miles into 616 works because his stories don’t revolve around Peter. Miles is his own person with his own relationships within the 616 universe. Peter is just one of those relationships. He’s been an avenger (which is why he’s cool with Tony) and even started his own team The Champions with Ms. Marvel and Nova. His stories tend to be more about his inner circle and personal struggles. It works especially because of the age difference between him and Peter. Miles is a high school Spider-Man and Peter is dealing with adult issues. Also as someone from New York, Brooklyn and Queens isn’t within walking distance at all. NYC is super dense. If you lived in Brooklyn and your gf lived in queens you might as well be in a long distance relationship. Also having 2 Spider-Man shouldn’t be an issue. It worked with The Flash and Green Lantern. Miles stood the test of time in real life and is super popular. People know the difference between him and Peter they’re both called Spider-Man. It’s fine
Also the location issue can be said about 90% of marvel heroes. All of them live in New York yet all of them have their own villains and storylines. It’s really not that big of an issue
I found it weird in the games, within the context of the games, that we can swing by all these places where heroes would be and so much goes down and NO ONE IS THERE FOR ANY OF IT. NOT EVEN A NEWSPAPER SAYING WHERE THEY ARE IN THIS TIME?!!
Problem is he shares too much with Peter Parker to be his own character. He's never allowed to be his own character. I agree he works better in the Ultimate universe. Even in the animated movies, he learned what it means to be Spider-man. And instead of taking that and giving Miles a movie where he is the Spiderman of his universe, he's back to saving the Multiverse. This would be like if they made No Way Home 2, after Tom Holland's version learned what it meant to be Spiderman. It's like they don't have faith in the character of Miles enough to give him his own movie. It has to feature other versions to carry the movie.
It's funny how Peter, Miles, and other Spider-Man characters are being treated better in projects like the Spider-Verse films and the PlayStation Spider-Man games than in their own comics.
Thank God. Into the spider verse also saved mayday from being retconned. I was so dam happy Peter got his daughter back.

I actually adore this idea and I hate that this will never happen in mainline continuity because Marvel are cowards and won't let peter progress
I disagree about the mentor figure. By the point in the comics when he came into the main universe, he was a fully realized hero. He didnt need to be a follower.
True having it be Miles taking the role of the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man while Peter is doing Avenger stuff would help things out

Shame that Peter is not allowed to have anything.

But Peter? Marvel says, "Fuck'im"
@@ZatchZXman the problem is always gonna be two fold. As many fans that want Peter to succeed there is an equal amount that want him to remain relatable. @@GexraldH So how is it not relatable again?

The context matters. When Nightwing operates with Batman, he appears like a sidekick. When he's on his own, he is his own hero. Even when Dick became Batman, Bruce was "dead."
Miles' context is that Peter died in his universe.
Like, even BUCKY (pre-WSing) wouldn't feel like a side kick if he had his own stand-alone adventure.
His 616 runs are WAY better, I'll just tell you right now from someone who read it all
@@CrossOutBryce Seconded, I believe he’s doing so much better in 616.

Yes he being a legacy hero made sense in that universe, but now it's just confusing
@@nuxmitikuna7718 no its not
I literally asked for this in the last one.
Its all the Spiderman that have this problem I find honestly. Its like they forget about his powers sometimes.
His powers should be like Quirks. It shouldnt be the Plot Device it currently is so it has ZERO consistently
that's like saying superman shouldn't have any obstacles because he's so over powered
@@johnthai6188 He shouldn't
Supermans obstacles shouldnt be things he can just beat with power alone.
Superman has a set of ideals that go beyond his dull god hood.
@@GiRR007 i would agree with that, but my comment was about how superhero stories don't always have them overcoming the odds in easy ways.
1:20 we like miles because instead of turning Peter Parker Spiderman black they created a new character that is also good
Someone had to say it. Miles was one of my favorite spider-men as a kid. No one can beat Pete, though. He's the OG.
What about Miguel O'Hara.
Miles is my second favorite marvel character behind Peter. It’s too bad he is going to progress more than Peter if things keep going like this though. Peter has to perpetually be a man child
Peter is a pale imitation of Miles.
@@jeggsonvohees2201 it's quite the opposite actually.
@@arjuna6224 neither of u are right
Miles is OK. His original stories are good, but when they do versions of Pete's stories, multiversal, clones, high school, all that goes through my head is Pete's done this all already
Dude’s literally a teenager. What did you expect? Clone saga aside, which I liked.
His origin story is the only highlight in his run to me. Can you refer by issue number these good stories youre referring to?
@@windghost2 doesn't mean they can't be more original, the repeats and remixes are never as good
That is crazy how close they are.
Don't see How he's a Sidekick. He Actually Dealt Things in his Own. And, Really, Felt More like Partnership and Bros Actually.....
@@windghost2 Yep. Really. It's More of a Thing between Bros.....
I love the fact you used miles morales show how many miles Peter and miles are away from each other lol 10:34

Sometimes they remember, "oh yeah Miles is Peters protege!"
The two should be fighting machines and so much can be done with the dynamic.
That's why I prefer when they are a few hours way from each other. Like Metropolis being in New York, the state, and Gotham being in like New Jersey
Bro you know what a recluse is? 😭😭
@Magna V I love when the uneducated think they're smart. 😭😭😭🤡🤡🤡
I think Redback is a good name.
I think it's fine when he isn't in the same universe as peter, so he can retain the spiderman mantle kinda like miguel.
You’re forgetting when Miles joined 616, Miguel O’Hara was stuck in the past, so there were three active Spider-Men running around.
Bro they dead should just call him the Brooklyn Spider and call it a day. Honestly I think that would roll off the tongue perfectly
In “spidey and his amazing friends” Miles gets called Spin to avoid the whole 2 spider-men thing
In Disney+’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Miles Morales is a Spider-Man with the codename “Spin”.
Yes, spin, Spidey and ghost spider. I watch this show everyday with my daughter.
For me, I always took it as so much craziness happens in new york, that they are both kept busy.
In one issue (after thd Accessor stuff) Peter stops by Miles home on his b-day and gives him a mission he was gonna investigate in Brooklyn....but decided it would be best left to brooklyn's spider-man
During Mile's clone arc Peter tried to help, but Miles wanted to handle this personally.
I am used to Peter Parker as Spider-Man.
that’s because he is 😂
6 "Miles" apart visual gag was perfectly subtle. Thank you.
Good to meet a fellow fan of Miles Morales from the comics. They way they treat a character is super important. The money isn't always the answer.
Bro just said $41 to drive down the street is cheep 💀 $41!? Pete definitely not paying that 😂
To be honest that can be said about all the other superheroes based out of New York in the marvel universe, how come they never interact but I get what you're saying about letting Miles be his own hero.
Marvel's obsession with New York is the only reason I hated the merge. Move Miles to his own city and let it be that
For me, Miles character arc is a simple one.
7 nyc miles is not the same as 7 miles in any other state.. i have a cousin who lived in Brooklyn and didn’t see him for 11 years
Miles is the inverse of Peter but only superficially
Peter is poor, Miles is middle class
Peter was an outcast, Miles was relatively popular
Peter is an orphan raised by a single parent, Miles has a full family
Peter went to public school, Miles goes to private
This is what we call "Going WIDE and NOT DEEP".
If I were to ask you what Miles stood for, you'd have no answer, unlike with just about any other well estalbished to even B list Heroes
He doesnt even have a well established Archenemy yet and he's been around for 10 PLUS YEARS🤦♂️.
And in the next spiderverse he is fighting yet ANOTHER Peter villain😐🤦♂️
I get that he took up the mantle but Even Batman Beyond had his OWN villains with some loose easter eggs of older ones. Miguel Ohara is a waaaay better character than Miles...because he has an ACTUAL CHARACTER to build original stories on and not just rehash Peter's stories...not to mention all his powers outside base phsyical enhancements work different to Peter's. Miles on the other hand just has two UNDRdeveloped plot devices tacked on to Peters powers🤦♂️🤷♂️
This wouldnt be so bad if Marvel actually PROPERLY ESTABLISHED the Spider Family but they have proven time and time again that recently they have NO IDEA what to do with ANY of these spider characters. Cough Chasm Cough. Thank god for the spiderverse movies cause the comics are TRASH🤦♂️
Miles has Potential and A LOT of it...but he will NEVER achieve it if
1. Keeps carrying the name of a character with 60 years of LEGACY in a universe where that character is still alive
2. Has NO DEFINED origin story since unlike Peter In EVERY adaptation for Miles they just keep switching the location of his Spider Bite and his motivations. Hence why in the span of 2 years we get 2 completely different adaptations for him
Spiderverse that is closer to the comics and The game...where they legit just made him...Peter, he's smart as Peter AND enthusiastic about being Spider-Man when its supposed to be the opposite💀.

That distance argument he just made grossly underestimated NY traffic Brooklyn to queens in rush hour can easily take like two hours

Miles Morales is "ok" but he isn't thriving. He isn't even close to living upto his potential.
the animated versions he got are very good
@@kevinvu5432 defiantly comics wise he is not in the best place but media game wise he's thriving
Why does that Spider-Man’s “sidekick” look like he wearing a Spider-Man pajama with the color red and blue swap. 😂
This is what I've been saying for years. Miles morales worked because he was taking over the mantle, and Peter's story was finished.
i mean a character taking over a mantle over a character that hasn't finished their stories can work: kate bishop as hawkeye, that one time nightwing was batman, x-23 as wolverine, at the moment falcon as captain america, or all 3 of the batgirls.

Miles: Didn't you die?
Peter: That was a long time ago, things change
It usually depends on the continuity.
I could travel through entire Poland for that price. That's so expensive!
He has twice😂
Yh call him Stinger. It works and is catchy enough
@@no.1spidey-fan182it’s not
Nah. He is still spider-man. He just needs to be written unattached to Peter. Its like they are afriad to show feats and strength with him, out of fear that he will be stronger than Peter. So what?
@@SlyMagma well I think it’s the fact people in 1610 universe are so much weaker than there 616 counterparts

I think I read maybe one or two of Miles Morales Spiderman.
(I had to have some kind of a name, that was the first thing that came to mind on the spot)
You can still have the other characters meet each other like when 616 Peter met Miles, but maybe make it a little difficult as to how they do that.
Think something like this is a decent-ish first start of something to amend what you brought up as far as having issues for Miles Morales?
the title is giving spider man lotus
Exactly, I'm sure Peter wants to retire so he can be more with his family, so teaching Miles to be Spiderman would be the best option
Miles just gets sloppy seconds from Pete story lines villains even his girlfriend Gwen wither they are together or not that’s peters dead ex Eric July goes more in depth with miles
miles already has his own villain galleries like Zip zephyr, rabble, quantum, ultimatum, agent gao, bumbler, hightail, accessor, black obsidian
The fact we have all these Spidermen in like one city and yet the crime rate isn't low smh. Make it make sense

@Drakun Auger
No, it has nothing to do with miles being black/ latina, the problem is he not his own character with his own moniker who stand out on there own instead use classic hero moniker to give these new character legitmancy, It just lazy and makes the original moniker redundent
Heck in The MCU no one really cared MJ wasnt white in the movie
@@dustinsturm5506 every spider person you mentioned has had the same thing said about them. Miles is just the loudest because he's being pushed on people THE MOST
@@no.1spidey-fan182 I never felt like he was pushed I never noticed the others either
