I must say! Your videos are spot on, with catching on film, the entire spirit of fishing in N.Z.!! YOUR VIDEOS BRING UP, the spectacular NZ fishing memories i have experienced on North and South Islands. most memorable times in my life. Keep up the great work!!
I've seen this before along with the rest but could not remember too much about it, so I just watched it again. Its certainly one of my favourites. Tough start for Kresten Ovesen but great to see him bounce back, good bloke, Krest. I hope hes doing well out there..
Awesome! Think that's your best one yet. Beautiful scenery and brilliant fishing...Paradise! Looking forward to watching your exploits in Backcountry South Island next month.
I'm italian I'm always dreaming To go there in these your splendored landscapes But unfortunately It will always remains a dreaming because I'm jobless man with few Money. I can only fishing in around here My Home. You're so much Lucky living in those landscapes. Tank You so much for your amazing videos They makes me dreaming Marco
Another great video. Krestenz having one of them days where things just continue to snowball, that's fly fishing as we know it. Some lovely fish caught though
Great work on your videos! You have an incredibly beautiful place to work (if you can ever call it that! :) )and fish! Wish the Rocky Mtns. could produce the same quality fish. One day I hope to have you guiding me on these pristine rivers!
Love this video, your camera work and editing are phenomenal. Those Browns were monstrous and came to the bank with ease, although I know that has a lot to do with the angler skill. Big thumbs up mate.I hope you have a great summer.
+mikefsher Kresten's torment appetiser aside, pretty sure I claimed all the remaining torment the valley had to offer that week. Watching this now for a bit of off-season motivation, so I don't back out on those off-season angling related promises I made to myself.
Hey Mike- another fantastic Video mate. Dave and I are hanging out for November 2016. Take care- hope this season brings plenty of the big boys to yours and your clients flies throughout the 2015 season...Damo
Two more months... Two more months... Can't wait for early October. Ice on the inside of the hut windows brings back some great memories. I'm definitely bringing some warmer clothes. Snow level dropped to 300m when I was last there. Frigid. That fish at the 22:00 looked like a brute!
mikefsher Was going to say it looked like a good trip but would've been superb if you had used Kieran Lee's stonefly nymph. Looking forward to seeing some browns chase that thing for 6m again. How is your stock of whitebait streamers? Don't want to be caught empty handed again...
I wish the browns at waitahanui ate like the 1z in the video I cast at them for ages and sometimes get them hardly ever get rainbows first cast though so still happy. Thid video is amazing good job.
+mikefsher ha the weirdest thing happend I was fishing for browns and I hooked 1 but it felt dead anyway I reeled it up and ended having to browns on 1 took my hare and copper the other took my smelt I lost them both in the end but that was weird
Mike, grew up across the street on Breezes Rd. Still friends with James on Facebook, he shared a link to your UA-cam channel. Awesome! If you ever get near Lake Tahoe California give me a shout, have 4x4 will travel

Cheers from Québec ! Nice Video Mike ! Have a few questions for you. 1- Are you mostly fishing in private land or it's public one ? 2- We mostly saw you (New-Zealander's fellows) catching brownies and rainbow's. I know that some river's connecting to ocean have a population of king salmon, but do you have other salmonoids member in N-Z ? did you fished them ? 3- Are there rivers you fished are C&R only ? or its the good willing of the fisherman ? Thanks for taking time for answer's but like the other people just want to say that ur video are excellent and good for the soul of a fly fisherman werever he live ....trust me. Daniel.
Daniel LeHip Thanks for the kind words. The rivers are more or less all public and there are Browns, Bows, a few Brookies, and a very few other subspecies. And of course Salmon. It's largely a catch and release ethos here but there are bag limits on all rivers and lakes.

hi mike. i´m from the other side of the globe, but it looks the same here. what are the temperatures there while you were fishing in this video? thanks.
Thanks! I was using the 9' 6wt here from memory as it was early season but favor the 5wt (9ft) for most of my fishing. I also have the 8'6" 4wt which i used late season in skinny water which is divine to use.
Thanks for the tempting offer - send me an email and maybe we can tee something up next season. I've just been down that way and the fishing was sensational
