Such an awesome place, the scenery alone is fantastic then you add the agates and geodes. 🤯 Thank you for sharing your trip and all of your beautiful pieces! ✌️🤠

They were all so pretty! I think the one that was totally filled with Calcite and hiding beautiful crystals was amazing! At 14:45 ish, we’re those Labradorite flecks on the end? I was seeing some beautiful blue flashes! Hi Alexis, you made me laugh peeking out behind Theo!😂 Can’t wait to see that big geode cut and polished! Awesome treasures!!👍👍👍

Sweet location, super-sweet finds and a bit of sweet heat. In other words, an all-around great day! Your finds are certainly no bad second cousins to Brad's finds. I look forward to seeing some of them get crunched in Drogon's jaws, :-).

Yeah there are some reallly nice rhombohedral and dogtooth calcite crystals in some of those agates!😄 if i find good ones i usually leave them intact but usually its just a small film so i opt to remove the calcite to show the quartz in that instance. But its an insult to dissolve a good rhomb surrounded by druzy😂

I hear you on the heat keeping you from cutting man. July in Florida ain't fun. I have a very short window in the morning where I can do it out of the sun. I did not prepare enough this Spring, not by a mile. I spent 3 hours cutting in the afternoon 2 weeks ago. Brutal.

    Those beg the question
What is all that stuff in the cavities
I might keep the two angles on that double
Accentuate the uniqueness of the rock!

You use the same area on the disc when you rock your stones. That causes wear patterns in the disc. IF You would move the stone closer to the Edge and back toward the center, your disc would last longer. Not saying to start now, but when you start a new disc, polish with all of the polishing surface..

Is the yellow crud on the outside kind of clay-like? In a pegmatite dike in Nova Scotia I found smoky quartz, mica, and black tourmaline, surrounded by yellow clay.

So when looking for bear canyon agates. Do you just look for a spot in the canyon along the wall and dig?
