Your cat is absolutely ridiculous! I mean ridiculously loving, amazing and I would be blessed beyond measure if I could find a companion half as sweet. I'm presently looking to adopt....your kitty certainly sets the bar high😺💖🐈
I really enjoy the way you explain things Taylor, you don’t just assume that everyone knows everything about knitting and spinning, I’ve been learning a lot by watching your videos. Thank you 🙂🐑
something i've found with Stephen West's patterns is I find myself more ok with using brighter or richer colours than I usually would gravitate toward for myself. so shawls are mostly where the colour comes into my wardrobe. I love your shawls and its awesome to see that you've done so many of them in hand spun. its definitely inspiring me to use handspun in shawls in the future.
Sorry you are feeling bad. I totally understand. Thank you for showing the Farrell Shawl. I received yarn for Christmas last year and never found a pattern for it. Thank you so much. Love your podcast.
always love your podcasts! The shawls are beautiful and inspiring, I'm working of one myself, a Stephen West that's going slowly....I keep several projects going at the same time.. keeps me happy bouncing from yarns to yarns 🐑
I never thought that I would be a shawl knitting person until this year, I was gifted a ball of yarn and told, maybe you can make a shawl, I did, it turned out too small for me so now I'm looking to make more! Anyways, I wore the small shawl to work and my colleagues liked it so I had to knit some small colorful shawls for them too :) but now I want to knit a big one to wear it as you wear it around the garden!
🐑🐏🐑, Hello Taylor! What a coincidence I’m on Lopez now, and just bought more Island fiber yarn! Yes the balled one and the skeined one are the same yarn and base. This time I bought fingering wt base, in a mid grey. Enjoyed the shawl show so much and Babymoonchild made quite an appearance, how sweet she is! She just responds to your voice in such a cute way! Hugs ClaudiaSJI
🐑🐑🐑 Thanks so much for sharing your gorgeous shawls! I've mentioned this before also, but I adore star baby moon child + your little filler vids! Do you, boo. Hope you're feeling better!
I never give steven west patterns that pop up much time because its really not my aesthetic. I lean more close to your aesthetic. So it was really interesting for me to see your steven west project color choices! Very nicely chosen! I had to hop over to your ravelry account to see the finished product :) 🐑
You’re making me want to cast on ALL the shawls. I knit mostly garments now but my first ten years of knitting was mostly spent on shawls, scarves and hats. I love the golden hour shawl 😍 your colour palette is gorgeous!
Thank you! I’m sort of glad that I looked shawls over for so long because I’m suddenly finding them fascinating! Mostly because you can wear the same one for days and days and no one would care lol. 💕
🐑😊 I’ve done some Black Walnut dying, too. I let the hulls ferment too long and my fiber smelled horrible after. I did many rinse cycles to flush out the smell.
Love that Feral shawl, going to have to knit that one. Looks like a lil jacket on you the way you wear it with the shawl pin. Your kitty is beautiful also. Was always more of a dog person till my son got a cat who i mind when he travels. Love that kitty now ;)) Anyway hoping to go to the Maryland sheep and wool. Will be my first yarn festival. Maybe run into you! Beautiful podcast, thx for sharing.
I have just stumbled across your channel and I feel like I am home!! I love your style. Your little corner is gorgeously comfy. I have one question! Something people never talk about. I have cats, and I see you have one as well. I am fearful to wear my knits and have one of my fur loves pick at my sweater and pull a piece of yarn. Do you have that issue? Is it an easy fix??
@@Spinning_laine it can happen, especially with superwash yarn, one of the plies can get distorted and out of shape. With wooly yarns you can kinds of just stretch and wiggle it back into place. This honestly happens all the time. Sometimes I use a crochet hook to pull anything sticking out to the back of the fabric and it looks new again. Rarely is any significant damage done. 💖 thanks for watching!
I love your outfit in this video. What sweater is it and what yarn did you use? Love all the shawls too! I am inspired to cast on a shawl now! Thank you!, ❤️🧶🥰
:) it is a modified Doocot sweater by Kate Davies. I deepened the yoke, knit a short twisted rib collar, knit the sleeves straight with a row of decreases at the cuff and bottom before the hem. I’m writing a pattern now with all these mods and an optional cable motif. :) the yarn is Elsa Wool woolenspun fingering in light grey with isegar silk mohair in the color 6. 💕
@@TaylorOwen thank you!!! I really like the modifications you made to it! I love the collar and the sleeves you did! I can’t wait until your pattern write up is ready!
🐑 is it odd that I’m surprised you don’t have more shawls? I mean I’ve been watching for a while and I’ve -seen- all your garment makes but somehow I just thought you had more 😂 I mean I personally have only made 2 shawls so I can’t say much. But anyway I’m good - how are you? I’m working away on the Ali’s Tee that went viral a small way back, and socks. Always have socks on my needles 😂
I know, right?! I actually forgot a shawl that I’ll have to show next week… I never wear it because it’s just 2 skeins of SW but it is a gorgeous brioche lace design! Wish I made it in a more pleasing yarn. It’s too pretty!
@@TaylorOwen maybe you could over-dye it? My problem comes from my stash and the sheer amount I have 😂 my big shawl took 5 skeins but it was also on my needles for a year and a half. So I’m kinda avoiding another time commitment like that 😂
@@TaylorOwen Ah that’s a shame. It’s why I hesitate over a lot of things and prefer to expand my sock range. I can crank out a pair of socks generally within 2 weeks, less if they’re a weightier yarn
Where Do I find the Pattern for the X-rá Long shawl? I would like to knit one like that. I Do. Not know about yarn structures, nor spin ing 🤔Please advise! Feel better 🙂

Oh how your little helper colour matched for the Golden Hour shawl 😻 Or vice versa. Both are gorgeous 😻
Love the spinning ❤
Have you considered doing a spinning tutorial? I'm a beginner and would appreciate your guidance and tips.

Your shawls are so beautiful! You are beautiful! Hugs, be well
I like your muted color choices
I also made the Range shawl with my handspun, my first time using 100% handspun (except a little of one color that ran out)
Great chat 💬 😉 🐑! Hope you feel better soon 🤗

Ooof! I noticed these smelled a bit too and used Mrs Meyers dish soap on the final rinse. Now they smell nice again 💕
Beautiful shawls 🐑🐑 🥰
🐑 Love the shawls!
I love your cat 😻😍😇
Ive only just got into knitting and have not made a shawl yet. This video made me want to cast one on. 🐑

I find them at the thrift store! Sometimes they have flowers stuffed into them and I just tear them out and give them a good wash. 😋

The Founding Shawl? It is knit with Harrisville Designs Watershed yarn… it is a woolen-spun worsted, almost Aran weight yarn.
