    My main take away from all your videos is you are one of few people that can save modern heavy music. The riffs and breakdowns you cook up just for UA-cam content are so good. Praying that new Structures is coming soon 🙏🏼

      haha I do appreciate that as I don't do anything half in. I always make my stuff as sick as possible without it being too sick that i regret not using it for Structures. I think we write much better music together, the 3 of us
      But a lot of these techniques are things we do when writing and I figure it could help others. Thanks for watching!

      Thanks for checking it out Ricky! They often don't perform as well as review / instrument videos but I find them to be actually useful and evergreen so I'm happy to make the lesson based videos, even if they get less plays. The fact its helping some people is enough for me to continue with them

    My favorite breakdown of all time is built up by a solo. Not a core genre or djent/thall. But the breakdown in Domination by Pantera is my all-time favorite breakdown.

    This video inspired me to write for the first time in a short while... but now that I've gone back and listened to my work, I realize I accidentally ripped off Psycho Hours 😂😅 it's given me the itch, though! Another way to make a huge breakdown is to not have the riff play in the build up before the breakdown

  • @applegarden2448
    @applegarden2448 4 місяці тому +1

    You know, it's not only about the buildup, it's more about creating unique song structures (pun intended). I would acctually like to identify and serialize some parts and give them a meaning or a title or identify properties like technique, dynamic property, timbre property, drumming property, is it the same melody or a variation, time signature, tuplet type, absence or presence of pauses, and even different transtion types between riffs etc., And forcing myself to change some aspect so that I have distinctive things different between my songs even as simple as changing a synth preset. For example I have written one successful buildup into a breakdown with a temporary change from 1:45 ua-cam.com/video/_87kDxLCy3M/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
