Smh. Guess I can finally say that country music is no longer country music. Hurt my heart to see Toby go but this made me realize that there isn't such thing as country music anymore.
Have you not seen Tpain cover Chris Stapleton “Tennessee Whiskey?” If Chris is a 10/10 on that song, Tpains cover is an 8.5.

Young people, country western music as with any other genre is left to interpretation for lyrics. Charley Pride was first African American who sang Country Western in 1960's. It not for certain population or demographics; it's for mainstream mass who likes/loves great storytelling songs, rhythm and beat. This is what makes songs remembered and classic.
