    I appreciate calling out the silliness of the stand and draw drills from the start. That stuff is getting people murdered. Rich is also bang on about the bad breath distance you'd find yourself in. To make a small addendum as a rando on the internet, this kind of thing is where military doctrine actually has some merit. It's a near ambush, and you're better off assaulting in fouling the guy's draw than trying to back pedal off. A little bit of clinch fighting and grappling will go a long way.
