Great tips Connie! Here's one I use for my embossing folders. I take a piece of card stock emboss it with a folder then that acts as the separator for each folder and I can see the folders better.
An idea that might work for you is to use a 12 x 12 page protector for your designer paper scraps. I just slice along the seam of the page protector so that the three holes are cut off and you basically have a pocket. Put those in front of your file folders and it will fit your scraps, allowing you to see what you have.
I Use one of our chalk markers to trace around my dies on the magnet sheet so that I can see where each die belongs and it also lets me know if one has not been returned to its proper place. Shared your video with a relatively new team member. So many options out there. Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed your craft room tour. Thanks Connie.
Thank You, Thank You! With this video, you have answered my questions which I had e-mailed to you recently . My space is limited to an extra bedroom which I'm using to create a "mini" crafting room and I know it will take some time to complete. But your ideas are helpful and I can better think of affordable solutions when I visit the Container Store which fortunately is located near me. When I think of all you do for us (planning and making weekly videos, creating fantastic tutorials and cutting guides to print, responding to e-mails, and so much more than I can take time and space to mention) I can only imagine just how much time and effort you put into all you do. So, although it may not be enough, Thank You for your time and efforts. We appreciate you.
Connie, I think you are an amazing demonstrator. You speak so well and it’s a pleasure to learn from you. Thanks for making these videos, both for organizing and especially cards.
So funny that great minds think alike. I have been using the Dynamo label maker for years. Also cut the DSP backer board to 6x7 for my 6x6 papers. I guess it's an Okie thing! I store my 4x6 cuts with the same 6x6. I keep the scraps in the SU clear envelopes and back into the box with the 6x6 of the same. Its all good and keep everything together!
Thanks for sharing your organizing tips, great ideas, I have also put my dies on magnets that fit inside the stamp cases so everything is together when I want to use it. 👍😊
Kathy Hammersmith, like you, I store matching dies in the stamp cases. How do you keep track of the dies that have shapes etc that are multi functional that come in some of those sets? Like the happy hippo set has great frames to use with loads of things. My memory is no longer good enough to recall my rather large collection of years in the making 😁
I like to keep my dies on magnetic sheets inside the stamp container, too. Helps me remember which sets go together. Occasionally it's hard to fit the dies on the smaller magnet, though.
Connie, I use plastic page protectors to store my paper scraps. I slice off the side that has the holes. I have one for each colour card stock and dsp. They hold quite a lot.
I use the same magnetic vent covers! Your storing systems are so organized! Looks like it works great. Thanks for sharing where you got the bins. I emboss a cardstock whenever I get a new embossing folder and I punch a hole in the corner, number it(and the folder with the same number) and keep them on a binder ring. I keep the binder ring of all my embossed examples in the front of my folders. Numbering them helps to find the right one and put it back in the right place too!
Recently I have been having probs. finding the vent covers in our big box hardware stores. I think all the paper crafters bought them all.😂 I have been using them for a lot time and my hubby ordered some from Amazon for me for Christmas 2024. He is always so supportive of my card making. All you ladies of the Creativate Team did I a great Winter 2024 retreat. Thanks.
Oh wow thank you Connie, ziplock bags for my scraps, Ty Ty Ty …I also use a “celery” container for long strips & a couple of 12x12 flat containers for my larger scraps 😀🇦🇺🦘🐨
Connie your craft room is amazing. The organization containers are are great. I tell you, my room could definitely be organized lol. Thanks for sharing.
You have given great tips, Connie! I go one step further on storing my embossing folders: Like your die storage, I make a divider with a tab on top (I actually use purchased file index cards) and use my label machine to make a label with the name or subject of my folder. E.g. brick wall, vines, flowers, borders, etc. This is easier for me because I don't have to pull out the folder to see what it is....the file tab tells me.
This is Amazing! Love ALL your tips! So good! Thank you so much for sharing! I always get so much out of each of your videos...creativity, ideas, fun and organization. Love your channel! Have a great day!
Connie - I am glad you found the containers that work perfectly for your supplies. I keep card stock scraps in a zip bag with the same color of card stock as well. It is always nice to see different things that work for our craft supplies. We all can use new ideas & tips for our storage . Thank you for sharing this video will everyone . 👏👏👏💞
Thank you for sharing your storage tips. I do mine very similar. I don’t have the room you have so I do mine a little differently. I have some Sterlite drawers where I file my Embossing folders alphabetically by type (leaves, flowers, snowmen, snowflakes, etc. i also write the brand in the upper right hand corner of my divider. I keep my scraps in ziplock bags from Dollar Tree and put the card stock colors in a bag that has that color of zipper. Color coordinated things are so much easier to find. Some day I will have my entire Craft Room organized. Then I’m going to have a party. Then I will probably have to look for everything! Lol
I picked up some containers (at the container store!) that had removable dividers (you can adjust at will) and I use that to store my stamps and dies. I keep my stuff in original pkg because when I tried to organize them by category, I could never find anything. I don't have massive amounts of stuff but I do remember by brand etc..so it's easier for me to just go "oh..I know that's a SU product, or Oh..that's a Tim Holtz die" etc. That's worked for me, but yes...exactly what you said--everyone has to figure out a system that works for them. You have some great tips, thanks.
I have a label printer also, love it. What I did to label things that change was to put 2 blank labels touching each other, one up and one down and then I center my actual label on top and because they are plastic I can then remove the old label and put the new one on top. I hope that made sense. I love your new craft room.
Wow! Great ideas! My cat food comes with 5 x 7-1/2-inch thick carboard between each layer. I never throw those away. I use them as dividers in the box where I store my completed cards and use my label maker to label them. The magnet sheets I use are the vent covers. They are great and quite inexpensive!

Great video Connie! I have been using the magnetic vent covers for a couple years now. I get three 5”X7” pieces from each 8”X15” cover giving me 9 pieces from each pkg. Each pkg costs $7 or $8. You can’t beat it.
Thanks for the ideas. I’ve been using this system for 15 plus years. It started in my sewing room and now my stamp area as well. So glad someone came out with ideas on shelves etc for stamping tools etc. Now I have to go back and rework some of your ideas in my old containers! Thanks for sharing. Demo in Tx
Hi Connie! Love your video. Lots of great tips. One for you, I store my 6x6 DSP the same way with the same cardboard dividers. I found that adding a removable Avery File Folder sticker to the top works well then I use my label maker and add it to the file folder sticker. When I’m done with my paper, I can reuse the cardboard for another set of papers. Hope that helps!
Thank you for sharing this video. My crafting supplies need some major organizing. Now that I’ve been making crafting/DIY videos I have really upped the craft supplies I have on hand. It’s messy! This was helpful. Inspiring to see and I think I can do it too. Wish I had a whole room but I’ll make it work. Thanks for the tips and tricks. I hope we can keep in touch and continue to learn from each other.
Always love your videos Connie. My hubby is making me a craft room at last, I've waited a long time for it. Im so excited and your tips are great. Thank you.xxx
Hi Connie, this is great. I will be sorting embellishments ! They seem to be in several places at once, and out of sight. So I rarely use any of them. What a helpful tip, thanks for sharing.
Ok Connie...I'm on board.... As soon as I can get to the container store (which is way on the north side of Oklahoma City and I'm way south!) I'm ready to start!!! I'm probably going to have to do this a little at a time as the money is available. But, I figure that will give me time to use the containers and decided what I like and what I need next! Thanks again for your inspiration and for getting this video done so quickly after the tour.
@@simplysimplestamping Connie I had no idea you lived in Moore too!!! I’ve watch you for quite a while and never thought to look!!! So exciting… maybe we will run into each other some time! Went to the container store but they only had 2 white store smart containers so I ordered a bunch!!! I can’t wait!!!
This video was sooooo helpful and detailed. I loved watching how you organized all the different craft supplies. Headed over to watch your craft room tour video. We have a local Container Store, so it was nice to see how they were able to design your space. I have a small room that needs to be multi functional, but maybe this Elfa system might work. Thank you for sharing such great detailed information.
Thanks for sharing the container store ideas. I've been trying to find some smaller sturdy containers for my 6x6 paper, etc. Also, love your new hair color and style.
Thank you very much, Connie, for sharing your organizing tips and systems. I am constantly rearranging my craft room, always trying to find a more efficient storage solution. You have given me lots of practical ideas! Thank you!
I would love to have your craft room, question what and how do you keep all your stamps organized? I have so many out of date Stampin Up Stamps and don't know how to get all my stamps in order. Would love to be able to organize like you.
Wish we had the vent covers available here, sadly we don't - we in Australia don't have AC vents like you folks do. Now I would have to take out a bank loan to do my craft room all in Elfa like you have done, looks fantastic but is expensive here. My room is a work in progress and no doubt always will be! Thanks for some ideas and inspiration.
Great tips! One of my favorite things that I did for storing my card stock was a hanging file folder and I cut the tab off a manila folder and stapled this inside the hanging folder. This was my card stock and scraps are in the same place. This may work with your designer paper.
#replay. This really helped me try to figure what organization I like .. elfa or stamp n storage.. I really like the files for paper! You really helped me a lot!! Thanks
@@simplysimplestamping yes ! I have watched so many and I will be getting a lot if the same things! I also like to have my stuff out.. so I don’t forget!
I love watching your channe.. and I have a tip for you. I know the vent covers do a great job At holding our die cuts et cetera. if you go to An automotive store where they sell miscellaneous things for autos. And you get it in a roll of and it's the kind of magnets that stick on the side of cars with their logo. I used to use the vent covers but I found them to be a little pricey after a while. I have a lot of dies. so give it a shot it can't hurt, thanks for all your tips.❤
Thank you sharing your storage solutions in your beautiful crafting studio. My art room has to be in my basement. So I call it my crafting dungeon. Lol 😄
I have sympathy for you. I have a very crafty living room. Looking on the lighter side I use it more for crafting than anything else and it's a space where I can have fun playing with my toys. 😀
Oh, Connie, thanks! The container store finds are excellent! And I was wondering about the magnetic sheets. I’m s,all scale compared to you and haven’t yet made a decision to join but I’m using the products and love the quality.
Great tips, Connie! I'm surprised you take everything out of the original packaging. Especially the embossing folders. But I must say, your craft room is a dream!!
Yes on the magnet sheets! I've been using them just about as long as you have. Now when I find them I buy for future use as sometimes they are hard to get my hands on them. Thank you so much for sharing your tips!
I use cut down file folders for dividers for my dies. I’ve found it very useful to laminate them. Without lamination they got looking bad pretty quickly. Also I cut down file folders to store my 6x6 designer series papers and put the folders in a container.
Connie - you are one of my favorite stamp demonstrators - always so clear and practical! I have a question about embossing folders - do you put in protective bags or do you just leave them as they come? They seem pretty sturdy to me - I can't think anything would damage them...
Loved seeing how organized you are. I am looking forward to viewing the other video with the tour of your studio. I love the shelving pieces you purchased from Container Store. Can never have enough shelves, am I right? BTW, for storing my 12 x 12 DSP, I bought a milk crate from Container Store, along with a separate wheel base, then connected them with some zip ties. I now have two of these stored under a work table that can be wheeled around. Yes, I have a lot of DSP. I'm something of a DSP junkie. Do not attempt to cure me! LOL
Thanks for the video Connie. I too use Elfa Shelving in my house and craft room...I love it! Thanks for the ideas. I think I can definitely incorporate some of your ideas.
Really great organizing tips! Love the containers…keeps everything nice and neat. I used to store my cardstock vertically, but it started to bow and bend (probably because I didn’t have cardboard behind it for support) so I store them horizontally now. I saw your ink refills in the background, I would love to know how you’re organizing/storing those. That’s one I haven’t found a good solution for. Thanks Connie :)
I actually did a video on this a couple of years ago - ua-cam.com/video/wcBBKe8Mb7A/v-deo.html I must warn you though, the cases I used are no longer available but you might be able to find something else that might work.
If you can find the old VHS video boxes (I find most of mine in charity/goodwill shops) they fit ten bottles to a case. Hope this helps. Regards from UK 🇬🇧
Thanks for All the Great tips. Some I already use but Always glad to learn new tips to organize my room for a less stress more Fun Enjoyable time while crafting and creating.
What do you call the wire mesh file for your paper. I REALLY love that because I bought a file cabinet and it is REALLY hard to get to the paper in the back. This looks like a much better way to do it but I couldn't find them when I went on line to the Container STore. Sadly, we don't have a store near me, it's two hours away, so if I make a trip to it, I want to be sure I'm finding what I need. You have great ideas and I order my magnet sheets for dies from Amazon, you get about 25 in the package. Thanks so much for all your info and ideas!
@@simplysimplestamping Connie, thank you so much. You are just so AWESOME! Thank you so much for all the help, lessons and great things you do to help us!!
TFS the tip on storing embellishments in our clear envelopes. I was searching for a method and yours solved my problem - using supplies I already had on hand - LOVED THAT!!! 🙌🏻🤗. Even had a spare container just waiting to be used that worked perfectly. So I now have all current embellishments on hand. QUESTION: Do you have a solution for our loose ones that come in the hard round plastic containers eg brads; flowers; bees? Where do you store them?

Now I would have to take out a bank loan to do my craft room all in Elfa like you have done, looks fantastic but is expensive here. My room is a work in progress and no doubt always will be! Thanks for some ideas and inspiration.
Leah, hopefully you can find comparable products that will work for you.
Thank you so much for sharing, I really like the look of these containers I am hoping to purchase some
Starr, I love them.
Great tips! One of my favorite things that I did for storing my card stock was a hanging file folder and I cut the tab off a manila folder and stapled this inside the hanging folder. This was my card stock and scraps are in the same place. This may work with your designer paper.
I like your manila folder idea, which I have a lot of! Saves me from buying plastic job ticket holders! 🥰🥰🌈
@@bearclawflowers Thanks!
Great tip! Thanks for sharing!
First time on this site. Fabulous, neatest room EVER. Subscribing!
Esther, thank you very much. I appreciate the support.
Hi Connie, first time viewing your video! All I can say is, WOW!! I did like and subscribe d!
Thank you so much!!!
#replay. This really helped me try to figure what organization I like .. elfa or stamp n storage..
I really like the files for paper! You really helped me a lot!! Thanks
Susan, I am so glad this was helpful for you.
@@simplysimplestamping yes ! I have watched so many and I will be getting a lot if the same things! I also like to have my stuff out.. so I don’t forget!
These ideas are great! And so compact.
Thank you so much! 😊👍
Diane, Glad you like them!
I put the magnetic sheet into the stamp container so the stamps and dies live together in the stampin up case.
I love that we all find organization tricks that work for each of us.
Great tips! Thank you
Maria, You are so welcome!
Thank you so much for sharing this tip.
Great tips can't wait to get this organized
Carolyn, Glad it was helpful!
PS I also use some space in the entryway off the living room for storage.
Gina, it sounds like a happy dungeon to me. I am glad you liked the ideas.
I have craft room envy! Love all your tips and that you are thrifty too.
Kathleen, I try really hard to be $$ wise.
Oh, Connie, thanks! The container store finds are excellent! And I was wondering about the magnetic sheets. I’m s,all scale compared to you and haven’t yet made a decision to join but I’m using the products and love the quality.
I would love to have you on my team of stampers if you ever want to give it a go!
Really great tips. I especially love how you stow your ribbons. Thanks for sharing ☺️ 👍🤗🤗
Paulette, it was my pleasure to share.
TFS Con! I LOVE your new room too! Great tips Girlie! Hugs my crafty Sister XOXOXO
Victoria, I really do enjoy it. It is a happy space.
Great ideas thanks for sharing
Alma, Thanks for watching!
Wow! So many ideas, Connie. Thanks for sharing. Love your space!
Michele, You are so welcome!
Love that ink storage!!!
Millie, thank you!
Great tips, Connie! I'm surprised you take everything out of the original packaging. Especially the embossing folders. But I must say, your craft room is a dream!!
Janeen, I think we just all find what works best for us and run with it.
Yes on the magnet sheets! I've been using them just about as long as you have. Now when I find them I buy for future use as sometimes they are hard to get my hands on them. Thank you so much for sharing your tips!
Jeanne, you are very welcome. And I agree with you about the magnetic sheets.
Great tips Connie! Thank you so much! I also use the magnetic vent covers for my dies. They are great!
Ginnie, they really are a great option.
I use cut down file folders for dividers for my dies. I’ve found it very useful to laminate them. Without lamination they got looking bad pretty quickly. Also I cut down file folders to store my 6x6 designer series papers and put the folders in a container.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing!
What a shame we don’t have The Container Store here in the uk. All beautifully organised. 😌😌
I have similar containers, I purchased them @ IKEA. Is IKEA available in the UK?
@@danadavis4571 yes we have IKEA in the uk but not near me and their delivery charges are horrendous. Never mind.
Anita, there might be other comparable options. I hope you find something that works for you.
Thank you great ideas
Sherrie, you are very welcome.
Connie - you are one of my favorite stamp demonstrators - always so clear and practical! I have a question about embossing folders - do you put in protective bags or do you just leave them as they come? They seem pretty sturdy to me - I can't think anything would damage them...
I leave them as they come.
LOL
Evelyn, I will not attempt a cure. You made me giggle.
Thanks for the video Connie. I too use Elfa Shelving in my house and craft room...I love it! Thanks for the ideas. I think I can definitely incorporate some of your ideas.
Cathy, I am glad they were helpful.
Great tips:) tfs:)
Barbara, I am glad you like them.
LOVE your channel, Connie. Always a pleasure to watch. Thanks again, for all your awesome tips, but more so - your amazing videos!!! 🤗
You are so welcome! I appreciate your kind words of encouragement.
Oh Connie, thank you for all your tips ♥️♥️♥️
Frances, I am glad you like them.
You have given me some great ideas - now to reorganise my craft room. Thanks for sharing. You are amazing
Lorraine, I am so glad you got some ideas.
These were all good tips Connie! I love your organization! Thanks!
Karen, I am glad you enjoyed it.
I wonder if VHS tape cases are around anymore…are they about the same size? Those are 7 7/8"x 4 5/8"X1"
If you can find the old VHS video boxes (I find most of mine in charity/goodwill shops) they fit ten bottles to a case. Hope this helps. Regards from UK 🇬🇧
Thank you so much for showing your crafting area...It has been a big help to me!
Gwen, I am so glad.
Thanks for All the Great tips. Some I already use but Always glad to learn new tips to organize my room for a less stress more Fun Enjoyable time while crafting and creating.
Amy, It is always fun to see how people organize and get ideas. Thanks for watching.
Need more than one thumbs up!! Awesome ideas for us. I am so sold on The Container Store. Sure wish there was one in NWA.
Sweet Sarah, I am glad you got some ideas.
I use the 7-Runner Elfa drawer unit. If you go to wp.me/p2ZBXB-d04 I have direct links to each of the products. Hope this helps!
@@simplysimplestamping Connie, thank you so much. You are just so AWESOME! Thank you so much for all the help, lessons and great things you do to help us!!
Lots of great ideas Thank You! Especially love the magnetic vent covers
Pat, You are so welcome! My favorite is the vent covers.
Love all the storage ideas. ❤️👍
Sandi, thank you!
I love your organization. Thank you for sharing.
Ana, it was my pleasure to share.
Wow very organized! I’m inspired!
Jennifer, Thank you!! 😊
Lynn, thanks so much.
Excellent💯
Thanks!
I really enjoyed this video Connie! Thanks
Julie, Glad you enjoyed it!
I have most of these tips! Thank you
Fantastic!
