I love a fix video (making or watching). The issue is how we convince the YT algorithm to show them to those who dispose of things at the first sign of an issue.
Good to know they're easy to dismantle. Glad you got it sorted and showed us all how simple it is.

I've done this on our indesit 4 times now over 8 years, I've never had to dismantle it this far, just the back cover and top. will always check this part before dismantling any further.
also replaced the door lock, mechanism and the locking tab, parts are so easy to get on indesits, it's starting to resemble triggers broom

Replaced this bearing a few times over the years on mine. First time it went I rotated the bearing 180 degrees and drilled and tapped a new hole to attach it. The spindle is the bearing down on the unworn surface. Lasted over 12 months until the heating element went on it 🤣

  • @unheard128

The bearings are designed not to require grease. When you do apply grease fluff / dirt can get stuck to it making it wear out faster. This is why when people replace them they find the replacement will not last as long at the original one did.

Mine was the Front door seal that Velcro strip that goes on the front rim casing. But got a new shaft as it was bent and bearing Was a compact hotpoint vented dryer. I would definitely say the small ones are harder to put back together than a big one.
It still makes a high pitched squeak when on. 🙄
So I got a 2nd hand miele heat pump for 25 quid just need a new moisture sensor for not much money use less than half of the electricity of my old hotpoint. And the fluff inside the hotpoint was a Henry hoover bag and a half of fluff don’t know how something didn’t catch fire. I still got it as a spare it’s such a quick little thing.

I needed to replace the whole drum when my bearing went. It was uneconomic. Good old Bosch.

Meanwhile my two day old Hotpoint double oven's induction hob blew up and no longer works. Needs a complete replacement with a new unit.

I've got a Hoover machine that's about 10 years old, it was already used when i bought it lol and it's broken down several times but the parts cost peanuts so i wouldn't buy a new one.

Tried to fix our last washing machine, failed bearing; got a new bearing took it all apart to find the drum was glued together- rather than bolted like they used to and you have to split the drum to do the bearing! Meaning I'd need a new drum assembly- but these cost nearly the same as a new washing machine! So they are designing these modern appliances as throw away items 😢

Exactly what a guy on my Discord forum found. He had to split the drum and then silicone it back together. 🤦 Frustrating as I thought they were being forced to make appliances repairable these days.

Yeah, last time I attempted to fix a tumble dryer, I unplugged the wrong thing, ended up with a hole in my finger and 6 months worth of surgery to fix it 😣

Wish I could get a part like that for my dryer. But they dont make it anymore.

In that situation sometimes its best to just buy another broken one with a different fault for parts, generally speaking you can get hold of faulty appliances for next to nothing, but trying to explain to a significant other why you have half a tumble dryer in the garage is another story ;)

Mad that that belt just goes around a naked motor shaft and halfway around the drum lol
