“Mi ha gettato nell’abisso di un pensiero fisso” just sounds really beautiful to me because of how it rhymes. And also the line “la gonna gira e mai, mai per me la toglierai” really shows Frollo’s frustration. Beautiful version, overall!
Vittorio is amazing both as Frollo and Lord Capuletti. Fun fact: in my country (Russia) the actor who played Frollo (Alexander Marakulin) also played Lord Capuletti just as Vittorio
Oh wow. First off, thank you for posting this so soon :) And second, as I had said before I'm teaching myself Italian and I understood bits and pieces, but seeing the whole translation makes it that much more powerful. It makes his torment so much more tangible to me. Although I see what you mean about the overall feel of the song colder. But I think in this case, he's entitled to feel like this. His entire world is being turned upside down, that'd make anybody unstable, I think
NarnianGypsy It was literally a pleasure ;) Yes, I agree. I don't say the song is unable to convey his torment (no wonder if Frollo is my second character among my favourites), yet I really wish they found a way to make the song more touching (as they actually did for other songs)...
I think this is best version of this song. The guy in the French one has the best voice but Italian is the most beautiful one because of the language and the emotion of Mateucci.
Italian woop woop! :) I do prefer the French version, but this version is on the second place! Thank you for uploading :D "E quel mio cuore d'inverno, è un fiore di primavera"
Frollo in the Italian version is so much more convincing than in the French one - so much more genuine passion and sinister. The French one is much too handsome for Frollo and lukewarm in his acting.
Oh, I love you so much for posting this, I've been looking for a subs+trans version of this song for a long time. I've fallen in love with Vittorio's voice! I have a request if you don't mind (and are not busy), could you please do a subs+trans version of "Il duello" from the Romeo e Giulietta Italian musical? I've been trying to practise my Italian by watching and listening a lot, but there's still bits of the song I don't quite understand... Thanks! :)
sakuramikichan Of course I will! Actually, I've been thinking for a while to translate that song. Would you like if I added also "la morte di Mercuzio e Tebaldo"? I really feel like these two parts are unsplittable :)
(Wait does this man sing the Italian version to the song in Romeo and Juliet too? It sounds SO familiar! o.o) Yooo my childhood movie and now I'm older and realizing what it was REALLY about.. Not something I expected from Disney.. o.o (I saw the original movie about a month ago too.. I cried ;-; )
Cheyanneevee Yes, he's also part of the Italian cast of Roméo et Juliette. There he plays Lord Capulet (and to me, he's the best element of the whole cast
I guess it's because of the distance between the public and the actors. From far away the thick eyebrows are still visible and give to his face an intimidatory glare. Also, the white underneath reflects a bit the lights. Overall i think it's for the perfomance's sake, since the actors are very expressive and the people in the last seats wouldn't be able to see that.
@@grazianairno5941 il Francese è più poetico, in Italiano si è voluto puntare sul conflitto di Frollo. Sono entrambe nelle, ma credo che la versione Italiana sia più bella ma di poco

Io ne sono innamorata 🤣😍...

That’s awesome!
I love the Russian version! You really can feel the pain he's in and that he's struggling.
so great for me it's the best version
You did amazing job! My fav song of this musical ♥️ Frollo is the heart of this book. I wish Disney had treated him as he diserved.
Me too

Please say that you're talking about Daniel Lavoie... there have been other artists to play Frollo but he still is... THE BEST CHOICE.
You need to try this song in russian language by Alexander Marakulin! It is very powerful
Love the Italian version

sakuramikichan No problem! I'll try to be fast (but I promise nothing ^^")

Кто-нибудь, дайте пожалуйста , текст на итальянском!
I wonder what would happen if a women really did fall for him before he meant Esmeralda.
hey, isnt this the same actor that plays Giulietta's father in the italian adaptation of Romeo and Juliet?
Yep
Are the actors (not singers) the same as in the original musical? Cause it looks like it
+Lolita Yes, the video and audio were recorded during the same show. That's why they match well
***** Thank you for answering! Great video, your videos are really good :)
Lolita Thank you very much! ^-^
Preferisco la versione francese ma questo pezzo è sempre bello, in qualsiasi lingua
Si ma in italiano rende di più questo pezzo...
