I found an amazing affiliate here near my home and I love going there but struggle with pain from lymphedema and osteoarthritis. Thank you for posting videos like this, they help to see some light on the path ahead.
I have had a lot of relief from my joint pain since switching to a paleo diet. I know several others who have had relief from their arthritis also. Good luck to you Troy. I hope you find something that works.
I think that many many people with health issues are too complacent. They underestimate how important diet and exercise is, not only for physical health but also mental health. I know for me I chalked being tired all the time to having a busy life (school, work, family) and getting older. I turned 39 last year, at 5’2 and 251lbs I was obese , the heaviest I’ve ever been, the sickest I’ve ever felt. I’ve been telling myself for years that I work too hard to not be able to enjoy the foods that I love, whenever I want. Then I realized I work too hard to feel like garbage all of the time, I was depressed, had zero energy and motivation. Spending the day in bed was a normal thing for me on my days off. My head was foggy all the time. I decided to change things not long after my birthday last August. I drastically changed my diet, about a month later I started CrossFit. I could do maybe 2 burpees unbroken, I could skip for 5-10 seconds maybe, I was so out of shape. I’ve lost 50lbs, I’m happier than I have been in years, my head is no longer foggy, I don’t spend days in bed anymore. Crossfit has literally been a lifesaver for me. It helps to motivate me to stay on track with the healthy changes I’ve made. I have skills I want to obtain within crossfit and in order to do that I need to lose more weight and eat healthy food.
what a great video....Ron Reed and family I want to do a WOD with you guys. Most powerful video exhibiting the true power of Crossfit. I had a heart attack 10 months ago and might not be here if I hadn't been doing Crossfit for 3 years prior. The Dr. said somehow my heart was very strong and resilient and had no damage. Was lucky enough to do The Open this year and it was great to push myself.
I think pointing the finger at the doctor is getting a bit old. I think it's great that Ron has made the changes he did, but clearly he had to come to the conclusion that the changes he made were required. Counselling patients on lifestyle changes can be like banging your head along a brick wall hoping for a soft spot. After a while you just want to stop banging and take the easy way out. People need to start taking responsibility for their own health and looking to their doctor as a team mate in that journey. Kudos to Ron for stepping to the plate and doing just that.
Love the fact there is a Video Stating that the best Medicine for Mental health is Fitness and Community!

The reason doctors don't like cross fit is if people are healthy they can't make more money
