Animating on the iPad - What do you use?

Have you ever tried animating on an iPad with the Apple Pencil? J.K. is prepping to explore animation-on-the-go and now is the time to come along for the journey!
Procreate has some nifty base-level animation tools, but it doesn't seem quite the right fit for animating full shots, so the goal now will be to find the best possible animation software for the iPad! If you have any suggestions, or if there are any apps you've had your eye on but haven't tried out yet, leave a comment below and we'll collect everything together to do some future trials and reviews!

Callipeg seems to be one of the best for hand-drawn animation on the iPad

#1: Callipeg: took a familiar UI style, (procreate), and expanded for animation specifically w/ audio and now a type of tweening.
#2: Rough Animator: The OG
#3: Procreate: For getting basic ideas sketched out.
I can’t wait until we can have access to rig on iPad. Also, to have access to a symbols type feature for mouths / hands / lip syncs, etc. Maybe it’s cheating technically- but I want access to speed. Ipad Pros should be able to handle an animation software that would suit these needs.

I think the only rig animation for 2d is animation pro and there are no much tutorials about the app asides from the tutorials of the official Channel of animation pro :c

Try Callipeg, I have it but I am still new to animation so I haven’t used it yet. I have just watched some UA-cam videos on it. Can’t wait to see your progress!

II’ve been playing with Procreate, Fresco, and then adding voice over with Rush. I’m by no means anything …so I am excited to see what you find that works well.

Flipaclip is pretty good. You can ad audio, the tool selection is decent, and it's really affordable for entry-level animators that want to try 2d. It's a hand drawn app only so there is no motion tweening or asset library.

Procreate is great for non sync animation and shorter pieces. Fresco has some great features but I find it runs slower than procreate per animation, also I haven’t been able to figure out how to export fresco animation to photoshop to keep animating (on desktop in PS using Anim dessin), hopefully they improve on that. Rough animator is excellent for pencil tests. It’s on iPad and desktop. Outside of the recent update of Callipeg, roughanimator acts most similar to traditional animation setup (audio, layers). Rough animator reminds me most of when I used to animate on paper. But their brushes are limited so I usually use only for pencil testing. Callipegs recent updates are getting me to do a trial again to see how good it is. I like that they’ve made exporting to a number of other software pretty seamless (Export to TVPaint, to blenders GREASEPENCIL, AE and others)and they have some recent very clear and simple instruction videos.

Can u maybe update your progress, because im also thinking about getting an ipad for digital art, animating, etc.
and would like to see how you are doing and if its worth :)

Perhaps I'm out of context but as an open source lover I stick to Linux, Blender, Krita, etc which are as good as any other but free and trust worthy. By the way, I'll be also entering the contest in the 11 second club this month and I wonder whether you have in mind to check any of your followers WIPs. That'd be great!

Flipaclip and roughanimator is the best choices for the price. Callipeg is still a bit new and has promises but I don't like the subscription model and it is a bit pricey for a still new piece of software. It has borrowed the most from other programs. But it has a lot of growth it need in this marketplace for mobile animation applications.
