Two points here: * I love to see how excited Richard is to collaborate with the school project, bringing his business' skills and helping his granddaughter. * Emily's happiness to see Richard happy without exaggerating with tools or the car and I also feel that she is pleased that Rory's group does the homework at her house, as if her own daughter brought friends from school
I always figured it was daddy issues that made Paris attach to Richard the way she did during this project... but given what happened with the professor later on in the series I now cant help but to wonder if it wasn't meant to be a crush and I misread it?
In the episode, "Ted Koppel's Big Night Out," Paris noted that Richard Gilmore was good looking,so naturally Rory(and the rest of the Earth)tries to ignore this comment
paris having all the good ideas. . . hmmm... Its weird but even when i was watching the show when it first came out when i was 17 or 18, I always felt that rory wasnt really as whipass smart/sharp as the dialogs kept saying she was. Rory couldnt even enunciate properly, jeez. I didnt find it believable that she was valedictorian and that paris didnt get into harvard. Everybody KNEW rory was great bcos the dialogs and scripts said so . . . but I rarely see her actually WORKING intensely on something. Its like, all her academic success just magically happened, effortlessly.
Well. Paris tried too hard - she messed up the interview for Havard. After graduating from Yale Paris went to Harvard. Paris learned from her mistakes. I do think Rory was smart. But Paris was always leading and pushing in the group exercises and the paper Franklin as well as volunteering. Paris definitely invested a lot of time there. Rory was just going along and getting the same grad as Paris - same goes for Madeleine and Louise. Rory so had more time to study for tests and exams.
The one thing that bugged me the most was the fact that she was not only was she failing in her first weeks of Chilton, but then is late for a test and then gets extra credit to make up for the test. Then she's magically at the top of her class. That would never happen in real life especially at a place like Chilton.
Have you watched the show? Like 69% of the show is depicting Rory studying reading, participating in the school paper and a lot other activities. You don’t need to present as a type A zealot to be smart.
It looks like Paris is using Richard to model her behavior as a business woman. It reminds how Elizabeth Moss on Mad Men said that for some scenes she played as Peggy she acted as Peggy was trying to model herself after Don and Rodger's behavior.
Agreed. Especially with the rise of school shootings, they could extend it to backpacks. Meaning backpacks could be designed with a pouch to hold first aid supplies and a guide to basic first aid care. So that if someone gets shot, then fellow students can help stop the bleeding until the person can be seen by a doctor.
This might be my fav Gilmore girl scene...no drama & the kids are having a good time with their school work, it’s rare

she spends all her time reading and studying
What is Rory doing for the project?
Rory was assigned by the teacher to be the leader of her particular group, essentially placing her in charge of the project.
Nominally,anyway.
Being the leader and getting input on what project to do
what do you do when your a leader of a school project.
She also scored the business advisor.
Rory chilton days>yale days

The sad part is,given recent events, this would come in real handy and the company would be making record profits.
