Sir, no need to rationalize (10:45): you were unlucky with the specific movement you got... Minus 10 sec isn't great, but surely, if you rest the watch during the night face-down, it will gain back the seconds lost, perhaps a tad more. Thanks for the great review. I own this watch, and it is indeed really high quality for the price. Also, Borealis and Carlos are very responsive and kind. You just feel that if anything goes wrong (and nothing did), they will treat you fairly.

@@SirWatchGeek Thanks, Sir. If dial down will prove too fast, dial up should be a tad slower. In my experience with three Miyota 9015 watches, 3 up (i.e., crown up) is the slowest position. I love this movement and prefer it over the ETA 2824 / Sellita 200, but must admit that in terms of positional variation, it is inferior to these swiss entry level movements. Cheers!
Happy 2023! This could have been a nice watch but they completely messed up the bezel! The bezel needs to be a flat black aluminum bezel with hash marks from 0-15 like the watch it is homaging. The bezel they use completely ruins the look of the watch for me.
Happy new year Sinjin! Interesting point - personally, I'm totally ok with the bezel. They've taken inspiration from, not copying the Rolex. I think the textured dial makes it different enough on its own, but if they copied the bezel, it may be a touch too much perhaps? 🤷♂️😄👍
Ironically enough, the only company that has nailed the look of the very early Rolex Submariner is Invicta with their 1953 black bezel version. They did the bezel right on that one. It's a really nice homage.
@@sinjinadams2862 It's a nice looking watch for sure! But even that has a few differences. I can't see a version with the extra gradients between 0-15 (correct me if I'm wrong), it's 40mm instead of 38mm, quite thick at 14mm, and they haven't used the Mercedes hands (again, correct me if I'm wrong). Invicta get a lot of bad comments in the watch community (they do produce some monstrosities!), but they do make some very appealing watches too. Great value for money! 👍👍
I'm not saying the watch is an exact copy of the first Rolex Submariner but it looks closer than any other homage I have ever seen. Yes the watch is bigger and thicker than the original but it does have the same pencil hands as the original and no hash marks on the bezel like the original. It is also a no date watch. I own one and when you compare it to a picture of that first Submarines they look almost identical.
Absolutely not! I’ve only just become aware of all the ballyhoo going on. I only had to do 2 Instagram posts in return for the watch. I did this review off my own bat, and no one approved it. I genuinely love the watch!

I've seen loads where the buyer doesn't even get any kind of discount, just a small payment to the person who has the link. It's just marketing opportunities by companies at the end of the day. And in the case of Borealis - everyone's a winner! I definitely won't be putting too much emphasis on discounts in the future (I only have this one affiliate link anyway), and I do admit that I may come across as a bit too 'enthusiastic' at times 😄👍
