- 19-year-old Utah farmer Dylan Rounds was looking forward to his first crop. Then he went missing. A private investigator outlines the search and strange leads in the case.

I think that felon would've skipped town if he'd done it. He covered up the one thing was guilty of, stashing the guns he was guilty of possessing. Although ... why would anyone be walking out of the desert bloody OR barefoot? That guy was probably guilty of something. Perhaps looking for another victim should be in order. My Columbo-guess is that the "local law or someone the law was friends with", did it.
MOTIVE - Law enforcement dragging its feet is kind of strange. Not like there's much to do there. Other than chasing meth-heads which can be dangerous, you'd think finding what happened to Dylan would be an inviting endeavor. They should've been questioning everyone in that bar and the few people in the homes near it. It's also such a small town with few prospects for attracting love interests and few places to find them. This local law or friend-of was upset he was either insulted that Dylan attracted the attention of the only available woman in town OR was gay himself and was rebuffed by Dylan.
OPPORTUNITY - Probably few cameras around also. Perhaps checking local residences or vehicle dash-cams near the bar for camera-doorbells may help. Even in broad daylight though, 1/4 mile from town allows opportunity.
MEANS - Easy to hide Dylan after the crime. If he's familiar with the area and peculiarities of things like the washes/riverbeds after rains or knowledge of local mineshafts, especially easy. Driving the truck then wiping it down after of mud (yet forgetting the wheel wells) demonstrates some knowledge of what law enforcement investigations look for. Missing phone, also suspicious. It's not like you'll find a buyer for a mysterious phone or want to be caught using it yourself in a town of 200 people. Buried phone, destroyed chip.
There is more and more evil every day and they're killing for no reason you can't take your guard down for one second
The fact he was happy about his crops growing just breaks my heart even more. There aren't many young people wanting to be farmers these days. Hope you're found safely and be back to farming in no time Dylan!❤

Perplexing how law enforcement just can’t find these missing people.....when my husband & I CANNOT have a conversation about anything.....and low and behold whatever we’ve been talking about will show up on our social media of every type. They need to check more into the guy who showed up bloody, the boy's contacts, friends, etc, any passer-bys that happened that day in and around the area. I hope he is found.
This family needs help to get answers. This is an unfortunate situation. It's heartbreaking he seemed extremely excited for his farm to be successful. Just by these stories about him. Praying for Dylan and his family.

This Young man is only 19 years old. He needs to be found. I still find it hard that people and kids just disappear. It's so bad that I feel we should have a Channel on TV that is only about those Missing. Everyday people go missing. THIS has become out of control. Like an epidemic in this country.

That is so nice this station did such a big show on this case, bringing more attention to his case. Interviewing people, talking about the facts, talking about how little Box Elder has done in this case.

I think his mom might be doing something that I have a habit of doing, giving the benefit of the doubt to people who don't deserve it. I think I do this because I would appreciate someone giving me the benefit of the doubt. I am a decent person and I try not to judge others based on appearance, I try to treat people the way I'd want to be treated. Unfortunately sometimes a person's decency can be used against her to manipulate her. Can't take the word of anyone in a circumstance such as this, can't even trust your gut feeling alone. Everyone involved should be suspect now.
My heart goes out to this mom she is so courageous and she seems to be way more active and vocal about finding her son than law enforcement is something is very wrong about that

So sad that his disappearance wasn't taken seriously. When people go off the grid it can be for all the wrong reasons and their lawless actives can be extreme. Just like Dylands dreams were positive as hell.he'll. He easily could have naively hooked up, got unnoticeable involved in something, or with someone who could/would take his dreams and use them to their own ugly benefits. Yes, a good, genuinely nice person. Wouldn't hurt a fly. Somebody must not have liked the determination of Dylan to make a go of his farm and become something good and successful. I hope and pray Dylan is found alive. I've been in this mom's shoes, but only for a few short hours. Just before we called out search and rescue, he and his horse showed up, both hurt and bloodied. The moment before I was going to make that call, I felt my soul leave my body. When a mom doesn't know where her child is, it is totally gut-wrenching. I hope this momma gets her boy back soon.

There’s nothing ever mysterious about situations- it’s a matter of getting on the right lead and time effort and perseverance - which his family hasn’t lacked - it’s the police that’s the problem

the family hired a private investigator. the PI pretty much solved the case, but the mom is mad at him so they won't follow the facts and evidence.

I can't be comfortable with Mom's assessment of the barefoot guy because she isn't experienced in questioning or the interviewing procedure. His mom stated in another interview that there were tire tracks on a road leading from his camp and that they appeared to be driving fast because of fishtailing. She was waiting for tread comparison with Dylan's tires. Any information on that?

Whoever sat Dylan's boot down probably didn't have time to cover things up. Apparently, his truck didn't go anywhere. So, what ever happened to Dylan, happened right there. My prayers go out to the family in this difficult time.

Only so many people knew that he was out there! This is definitely foul play! Someone came up by his camper and kidnapped him probably at gun point and took him somewhere else and killed him! My suspicions are with the grandpas "best friend!" He envied this young man, was very jealous and sounds like he had alof of hatred towards him! Hope they are thoroughly looking into him!

This story really scares me! Back in September or 2020 my son who was 24 at the time made his way from here in Mississippi with 2 friends to Elko, Nevada. His friends had gotten a job in Elko and were planning on living with relatives who lived there. Our son planned on coming home after staying 3-4 weeks. Within a week of being in Elko my son told his Dad that he had joined some political groups on facebook that were in that area of Nevada and that he had received death threats from people in the fb groups. We drove 28 hours straight, got him and brought him home!
I fear the worst in this case but I pray Dylan is still alive!

I remember when this story first came out and I remember the mom saying something about a man that had helped the grandfather for years farm the ranch and that has stuck with me that I believe that man maybe believed he would get the farm but when the grandson got it that man got mad

Wondering about the man Dylan encountered covered in blood and no shoes. What did he have to say about his condition? Why blood? Why no shoes? Why was he in the middle of nowhere? Why did he need a ride? Curious fact that Dylan didn’t have his boots on. Connection to Dylan refusing to give this guy a ride? This guy already had an infraction with the law? Sounds suspicious. Having been in church prison ministries for several years, you learn the mind of a convict like a book. And this would be textbook classic convict behavior. They're expert manipulators and liars, who could, as a former girlfriend of my ex husband said, "sell his mom a lead balloon with holes in it, and she'd thank him for it afterwards." They know exactly what to say and how to say it so innocently, that you would feel guilty for doubting them. He absolutely should be the first person of interest. Why the heck was he coming up out of the desert with bare feet and blood on him to begin with? Whose blood was it? Did anybody even bother to check that? Who else was already a victim of his?
That mother is incredibly naive. As far as teenagers go....they don't always tell their parents everything. He had a private life on his farm.
He went to those little towns. He made friends. Let's face it...he didn't farm day and night. His camper didn't have running water.
Townies know a lot and they won't talk to police.
But they did talk to the PI....
His parents said in another video that he didn't live in that camper he stayed there every now and then but he hardly ever stayed on that farm he stayed with his grandfather or grandmother

No...I'm getting a vibe about that man with no shoes...I feel like he was angry about him not picking him up especially with no shoes on..he went back and took Dylan's shoes and put him in the desert.....with no shoes...Dylan is in the desert but the man left him with no provisions no way to survive..sometimes the simplest answers are the only answer..go back to that shoeless man..but you will find Dylan in the desert !..and that man probably took him into the desert in Dylan's own truck..brought it back and washed it off! That boy had no enemies but he made one when he didn't pick up that shoeless man..sand is hot especially barefoot in the desert it can blister your feet terribly...bloody ..yes it's the barefoot man! Also where is his moped?

If he would have killed himself they would have found a body by now. A dead body doesn’t walk off. The private investigator the grandparents hired should be listened to even if it’s hard to hear. He has found a lot of information that makes sense. Wouldn’t it be sad for the parents to deny the facts and let their sons killer go free because of it.
I watched the UA-cam 10 to life. And she made a good point that the suspected lover of this boy had a wife and daughters that were very angry because of the supposed alleged relationship that Supposedly caused their mom and dad’s divorce. The mom of Dylan Rounds said that whenever she got in Dylan‘s truck that she didn’t have to adjust the seat. His mom is 4’11 and Dylan rounds is 5’11 so whoever drove Dylan’s truck last was a short person. Possibly a woman possibly the daughters or mother?

1. check deed of grandparent's property.
clear? any disagreements about their ownership? his new ownership?
2. was grounds straight? or bi or trans?
check his social life
3. bartenders always see and hear things. check their memory of grounds last time he was at bar to eat. if grounds was excited about his new crop and farm, he likely talked about that with people at bar. did he leave with anyone? what did ground's eat and drink? did any customer's become ill after the night he ate there? i.e. food poisoning.
4. boots: this is a terrible sign of foul play. given the landscape, if he was kidnapped in someone's vehicle, he wouldn't get far without boots in that landscape if they dropped him off, or pushed him out of their vehicle out there in the heat.
5. where is nearest water source to ground's farm? can you drink from it or is it contaminated? take samples fro. downstream of ground's homestead. determine if there's any DNA in water. physically check two miles in either direction along water source.
6. inspect tread in every tire on ground's truck. does all soil match soil native to ground's farm?
7. coordinates of cell phone pings?
8. the bloody shoeless man. of course he'll be questioned OVER AND OVER yes?
9. was grounds a known drug user by anyone? if yes, ID and interview anyone who's a user in area.
10. adjacent farms: is it known if any farm owner wanted to buy ground's farm or had any objection to what he intended to grow (competition) or objection to grounds inheriting it?
11. did ground's have a girlfriend? if yes, interview her, her friends and her family. subpoena her cell phone.
12. did grounds owe anyone money?
if yes, was he paying on time?
13. who were ground's teachers? did he have any issues with them? were any of them gay? did grounds have any disciplinary actions taken against him at school? any fights with anyone at school? were any of his classmates jealous of grounds, say for winning a title, match, or a girl?
14. was grounds healthy? did he have any physical or mental disorders?
15. get a ditch witch. start digging around homesite. sorry. must do.
15. who and where is ground's father? what is quality of their relationship?
16. if his encampment and quarters and truck were deliberately cleaned of evidence this is a horrible sign of foul play. it is difficult to prevent HAIR from skin and the head to be eradicated aa evidence. look for it.
17. local ranch hands. interview all. verify whereabouts from date grounds was missing.
18. did grounds purchase or have in his posession, any rat poison or any other chemicals to control animals eating his crops? what and where are these?
19. are there any mountain lions, poisonous snakes or other potentially deadly animals known in vicinity of homestead?
20. did grounds own a gun, knife or other weapon? what and where are these?
grounds is missing FOR A REASON. and with the crime scene the way it appears, and missing phone, wallet, and boots, this usually means he had something someone wanted.

My concern is they're putting too much stock into his last phone call with grandma. Just because he said "I gtg, put the grain away" etc doesn't necessarily mean he was doing exactly that. It might have just been a convenient excuse, it was going to rain soon so he told a half truth, an easy way to get granny off the phone without hurting her feelings. He has a history of not being totally honest so as to not worry or get into a long convo with the maternal person on the phone,( which is completely understandable) What if he wasn't really doing exactly that? What if he had an overnight guest who had just woken up and he wanted granny to skidaddle? Or what if someone was outside driving up and he saw their car and so wanted to get off the phone? What if he wasn't at the farm yet at all? What if he had spent the night in someone else's camper or tent or bunker or whatever else is out there?
Why do you say he hadn't been honest in the past? I'm just learning of this case so am only curious. Thank you
@@MackLee23i'm referring to the phone call he had with his mom where he told her about the shoeless guy in the desert with blood on him that wanted a ride and he told her about the encounter but didn't admit to giving him a ride, because as she reasons, she would have been livid if she knew he picked up a suspicious hitchhiker like that... so that is why she believes he omitted certain details. They later found out through eyewitnesses and other things that he had in fact given him a ride.

There's other info, cops knew about some "vigilante" type activists that he was involved with a strange story about a couple of men who abduct people and hold them with no shoes too far out to esvape barefoot...

I don't know how close to his camper the man with no shoes was but if he was far away I doubt he has anything to do with it. The "farm" is in the middle of nowhere, it seems unlikely that a stranger would be responsible, Dylan most likely knew whoever it was that harmed him

The boots tossed behind a pile of dirt 100 feet away from his truck is so baffling. What on earth could explain that ? There is absolutely no scenario I can think of where he himself would throw them there OR an abductor. For what reason would he or they do that ? So many people are going missing under mysterious circumstances, and if there was a comprehensive national list of the details of these persons and cases, I think it would be mind blowing to us how many there are, and how bazaar the circumstances. This is so very sad. Such a wonderful wholesome young man, with dreams and hopes that had nothing to do with social media addiction, but hard work and a sense of accomplishment. Heartbreaking !

I totally agree. The mom also doesn’t have law enforcement training or a criminal mind so naturally she will be more trusting of someone that calls her to put her mind at ease. It’s not a coincidence that this happened with the strange guy who was left behind in dessert by Dillon when he refused to give him a ride, then suddenly the boy is gone? He’s suspect #1 in my book.
Women are emotional creatures and can sometimes be easily convinced of things. I'm a female and know this to be true so I try very hard to not make choices based on feelings alone. She probably listened to the guy talk about how bad he feels for them and how he had nothing at all to do with the young man's disappearance, and the mom feels better about him not being the guilty party.
In the end, what the mom thinks and feels isn't actually relevant. If a good investigation were going on, the police would be searching all of these possible avenues. It would seem that's not the case though 😞

I lost my daughter in a roll over car accident,3 apparently witnesses came out and give a testimony that they didn’t see what caused her to roll over,but her son my grandbaby was inside the car with her and he said that there was a whit truck that threw a water bottle inside the car and his mom threw it back and after that he said my mom was talking to me and then she’s stopped talking. And guess what they didn’t believe my grandkid that saw everything and they choose to believe others. But I stand still and still believe my grandkid that actually was in the accident. Either she’s gullible or something else. My daughter left 2 kids and her husband find a girl friend 2 months after she died. I still believe that my daughter’s death was someone following her that caused her to die.
EVERY person missing should immediately be searched for regardless if police "feel" like they're really missing. How many of these cases go unsolved because no immediate action was taken, this is horrible. DO YOUR JOB YOU GET PAID FOR!!!
