I would agree that Vancouver Island is the most beautiful place in North America (have been to all 50 states and most provinces, save for PEI, Nfld, and Nunavit). Great you could build an outdoor brand like Sitka, based there. I lived in WA and OR for 6 years and love the entire Pacific NW. I hope to be able to live in greater Victoria, and spend winters in Spain. Best wishes for your company's success! I would imagine surfing off the west coast of the island would be spectacular!
What a beautiful island and such gorgeous views. What I can't understand is how the people have allowed Ford and Dodge to flood the island with giant gas guzzling, polluting pickup trucks. They are so big and intrusive and destroy the back bush areas and pollute the air. I can't understand the need to own one. I am seeing old farts fall out of them they are so high to get out of and I am seeing young people racing them around like they were driving little compact cars. They are dangerous and not needed. Maybe the islanders should get limitations put on these Viagra wagons before they ruin your beautiful island home.
I guess you forgot what freedom is all about. It is not about govt dictating to people about what they can drive or eat or whatever. The higher cost of petrol should limit the volume of these vehicles some, but given the population of Vancouver Island relative to the expanse of land, I hardly think it is a problem. I prefer a Honda CRV for myself, but am happy to let others drive what they want. The police states in history have begotten nothing but disasters, and since when is govt the experts in anything?
@@jdhjimbo The problem is that people are idiots and they think the politicians know best. All they care about is their investment portfolios and their pension/benefits. They won't dictate to you unless it affects their bottom line. I am dictating to you and so are millions of other people who are sick of your pollution spewing trucks roaming all over the island like it's your personal playground. Do you know that is sucks to see truck tracks and damaged trails up in the quiet bush from idiots 4 wheel driving across the environment? Not fair. If you all cared about the environment then you would have tried harder to get electric trucks and cars on the island. But you don't care. You're a child who just wants to be able to play like a child and let others clean up after them. Ford, G.M., Nissan, Toyota....they all don't car either.....bottom line....profit is all that matters to them. The ocean winds blows the truck pollution back onto the mainland and the smell and filth of diesel hangs in the air in downtown Victoria. Sorry Jim but you're wrong. You're a t-short wearing, reflective sunglasses, baseball cap, blue jeans and boots hillbilly who thinks his truck is an extension of his penis. If you gave one damned caring thought about our island, then you'd understand. But you don't. I wish I had the power to ban your damn toys for everything except business use and make electric cars cheaper to buy and maintain. Please don't bother answering. It will just be rhetorical gibberish. It's your kids and the rest of us I feel for.
I just ordered your mugs and candles, now Ecologist, but I love your brand and the videos you are putting out. Thank you for all the inspiration.
Gorgeous cinematography.

Best of both worlds. Amen
Hah. During my Working Holiday in 2009 I spent a few weeks on Vancouver Island. Downtown Nanaimo I bought a Sitka Hoodie. :-)
Outstanding is an understatement!
Its home
