I had to Google route 16 and was like oh ok hwy 16.

Here in Canada we don't call it Route 16. It is known as highway 16. If you asked someone in British Columbia where Route 16 went they would probably not know where you were talking about.
I live in Prince George and lived many years in Houston just East of Smithers.
