I have a 6 and 8 year old that we homeschool. Both will be turning a year older in the fall. My 8 year old had a speech issue that she has been getting therapy for , for a few years and started reading tutoring this summer. I’d like to share their science curriculum. Not sure if 1st grade is too easy for a 9 year old that’s not at grade level or if the second grade level would be better for both of them.
I used ACSI with both my kids last year together. My son was 6 and my daughter was 4 when we used it. I read it to them for the first semester, and my son wanted to help read the second semester. We read through the questions at the end of each lesson, and the kids answered them orally. If I am not mistaken, the second grade level of ACSI is basically the same info as the first grade but with a little more details. I hope that helps ❤️
This wasn't written with any particular denomination of Christianity in mind, but it does have an Evangelical bent to it. I like this book because it's visually appealing, has a lot of academic content, and it's one of the few books of its kind at this grade level that covers astronomy.
