- In this week's cottage garden video, I am sharing how I added some extra late flowering perennials to the raised flower beds. An update on the Astilbe, and the garden is having a second flush with all this September sunshine. While my garden might be small, I hope you get some inspiration to add some cut flowers to your garden.

Love the new garden bed! And the cut flowers are gorgeous. Your hard work is showing. Great quote! I hope you have some time enjoying your garden from your nice chairs underneath the umbrella.❤
I hope you have amazing friends, amazing family and an amazing life , for girl you deserve it. ❤
Love the autumnal flowers 💛🧡. I bet they're happier being planted ...more room to spread their roots 😊. Thanks for the peaceful video . Happy Gardening 👩🌾
So nice of you, thanks for popping by this week x
Such a lovely garden visit today, Catherine. I loved seeing what plants are for autumn. Thank you. I noticed the same dryness with the peat free compost that it needs more watering.
Your garden looks like one big flower arrangement❤❤❤
And the bees are loving it ☺️🐝
Our weather has been heat wave, cool off, oops more heat, yup cool again. Confusing. Your new planting is beautiful. The colors are perfect for fall. Looks like our fall is coming in quick. So, I'm just going to relax today and enjoy.
You know i like the garden wall mirror the film one i like the unsolidness of it, it gives it a whimsical feel there, 1 mirror reflects reality the other an other realm.
You have a garden to potter and relax in. Just enjoy it
Just finished listening to you chat on Alan Clarke's podcast, it was sooooo good. You are an exceptional human, I've been subscribed to you're channel since 2019 and you're content has been sunshine in my life, thank you Catherine for just being you ☀️🩷☀️!

I’d love a old fashion English garden like the ones 1-200 years ago. I’m sure my great grandmother had one! Love your garden! I live through it…❤❤❤❤
Found 2 ladybirds in the garden today. Really chuffed. You garden looks beautiful
Oh I love finding them, they are great at keeping the aphids at bay x
Another inspiring video just in time!🌺 The world has been great at helping me get inspired to film and share my own videos, I hope I can make people feel the same peaceful way your videos make me feel🌿🌸

Thanks Jo ☺️ have a great week ahead ❤️
It's sunny and hot here in the Eifel in Germany, too. I've also have a second flush with the roses and pot plants. The lawn is green and fresh. I really enjoy my garden these days. Like you, dear Catherine. I like your colourful autumn fowers very much.🍁🌾🍂
I love getting that second flu of colour x
@@DaintyDiaries ❤️🙋♀️
Always enjoy your lovely garden 🪴
Love this video, making want it refresh my whole house 😂 not ideal at 72 years old 😂 ❤x
A huge Thank U 😊....was about to give up gardening since most of the plants are extra crispy....we haven't gotten any rain since may...🌞🌡🔥 praying for some🌧☔️ hopefully soon...😉
Love your raised bed with all the lovely fresh new flowers you planted for the fall season. My zinnias are getting pulled today. They are overgrown & leaning over & way outside the raised bed, bottom leaves crunchy brown. I cut all the pretty ones & placed in a vase. Also will be pulling the rest of my petunias.
Goodbye to the prettiest flowers of the spring & summer season. I’ve enjoyed them but was it ever a very hot summer. Good riddance to summer! Lol zone 8a GA-southern USA
Love that - 'be a human being, not a human doing.' Thanks for sharing your lovely garden. We were trimming trees in our front yard today, two oak, one maple, and a linden. The large branches on the maple were sooo heavy. We gathered up everything but the maple branches. Will tackle tomorrow (it would be great if someone drove by and offered to cut them up for us!) lol we are that tired. Laurie
OH!! So happy i found your channel. I even ordered one of your books. YOu are so creative and just simply a lovely person! Love your flower garden. Lets hope the weather lasts and lasts!
aw I really appreciate your kindness and support, thank you!
Hugs and have a wonderful week
You have a beautiful garden and great flower addition to your cut flower garden.
Thank you so much 😊 x
Your Garden looks beautiful thank you for sharing x
Be a human being not a human doing. Love that so much. I'm robbing it!!
God bless you and your garden Catherine!💕💕💕
Beautiful flowers! ❤
Great combo of pollinators and the layout is perfect.😊
All from the helianthes species and echinacea makes it look fabulous.
I hope it brings you much joy 😊
Jo from New Zealand
Some nasturtians or black eyed susan over the edges of your bed would be lovely.
Thanks for all your lovely helpful comments Jo, much appreciated x
How lovely your garden looks, the hot weather has given everything a super boost after the miserable July and August September has been a jewel I’m in North Cornwall and like you up it was 28 deg but the nights were staying at 20 deg so actual physical gardening was too much but lovely for harvesting my veg and dead heading was the only job I could manage in the day. Looking forward to all these Autumn jobs your planning .
Absolutely gorgeous
Thank you x
Your garden is so pretty, mine has been stressed because here in southeast central Texas in the USA we have been having record heat and no rain since July.
Can’t believe you still have sweet peas.😊. Your garden is still beautiful 👏💐
Love your new raised bed cutting garden. Nice selection and really pretty colors. All tidied up mowed and pretty. Water later and enjoy. Have a great week.
Thank you! You too, have a great week ahead x
Love the garden looking forward to your next video have a great week ❤
Same to you, have a great week ahead x
Beautiful 🤗💙🌺
Hi Catherine. Your garden looks like a big bouquet of flowers. And you look so cute and beautiful in your new short hair style. 🥰🥰
Love your garden. It's a dream. Good job.❤
Thanks so much!
Love how you stuff the flower beds but they still arent all on top of each other! Looks great
It’s all about the balance 🤩
Everything is looking so lush and gorgeous!!! Love your hair too! Happy Autumn!
Thank you! You too! x
Your flowers are all very pretty. My flowers here in Canada are getting ready to sleep through the winter.
Everything looks great, slowly slowing down for fall and winter. I took a good look at my garden I have holes where I need plants, I will move some around and by some sale plants. Take care Catherine.
I find myself smiling during the entirety of your videos. So much so, that my cheeks hurt by the end 😉. You're an absolute delight to listen to! Love from Minnesota
Wow, thank you, that gives me joy! X
My goodness lady you sure know a lot of stuff!
haha plenty of gaps in my knowledge in other areas x
The new plants look so cheery and perfect for the season.
Bare foot and connecting with nature, lovely video. Your garden is looking beautiful still ❤️
Stunning Dahlias Catherine, the Zinnias are right behind with amazing color!
🌷🪻🌻 lovely garden
Catherine you've made me feel so good about my Astilbe! It's the one plant in my garden that is thriving! I'm a hopeless gardener and lose so many plants each year but my Astilbe is still going strong after 2 years!!
Aw, I LOVE this, what is your secret! X
I@@DaintyDiaries I wish I knew but I can only think that it's in a place it loves, which is partly sunny and partly shaded depending on the time of day!
This past week we have had a very unusual September in our part of southern Ontario, Canada. All week the temps were in the mid 30's with the humidex values making it feel
like 42-43. Way too hot! My hanging baskets all fried so I composted all of them. It is cooler these last couple of days but the temps are still in the mid 20's feeling like the high 20's. I'm going to wait before getting some fall flowers. Your garden is looking lovely!
The weather has been so unpredictable this year x
Quiero un jardín así 💓🙏💐🎉
Your garden good beautiful ❤️ great tips 🙏🏻
Thank you so much 🙂
Gorgeous Catherine!🩷
🌻Good evening Catherine from southeast Michigan USA. Your garden and home are so very lovely, so peaceful and full of life. Thank you so much for sharing your space. Enjoy a wonderful week 🐝🦋💚🌼
Good morning! thanks for popping by, I hope you had a lovely weekend x
Love the colours still in your garden. The weather in England was hot and very draining. We had a very bad thunderstorm in the night which kept me a wake. I listened to you being interviewed by a young man which I enjoyed as you bounced of each other. Catch you Thursday. Keep smiling 😊😊😊
I am so jealous of your flowers. My chickens and ducks have found their sneaky selves into my flowers... they dig and snip at them.. I spray the feathered friends with the garden hose but as soon as I go inside they are right back at it. 😂 ❤
Aww nooo🤣🤣 that’s too funny! They just want to enjoy the flowers too! 🤩
@@DaintyDiaries I suppose so 🙄🤣🥰❤️🙏
The garden looks beautiful as always. Mine has suddenly gotten a lush full look to it. Just in time for the season to change😂
Fresh and lush for the new season👏😍 sounds fab!!
Always love your videos Catherine! Your fall flowers look lovely!
Thank you so much! x
Always lovely and peaceful. Lovely bed planted and a lot of thought going into making sure everything is growing in the right place. The weather... WOW! Here in Melbourne it is now spring and the weather is wild with severe warnings! Its been freezing and shocking. But my bulbs are still punching through.
Oh no sorry to hear about the weather warnings! X
All good, we are having 7 days or more of mid 20's now!!!! crazy!! @@DaintyDiaries
Make sure to cut your lavender back often before it gets a tall woody base!!
Well done for getting some jobs done at all blimey it's been hot. It's all looking beautiful. Funny enough I was just saying today how my zinnias were disappointing but all of a sudden they're looking great yes it must be the weather. Can't complain about the hot sun as I might finally get ripe tomatoes 😅😂
The heat is next level right now 🥵
Hi Catherine! Your Sept garden is so lovely😍I've been into the garden centre picking up on sale perennials! Bought lots of flowering plants for the pollinators like butterfly bush, hyssop and echinacea🐝🦋Need to get my garlic in the ground before the frost starts☺️
Doo it!! We love a productive September 👏
I am excited to get down to 27-28°C this week! It feels almost magical compared to the 40-42 it's been for weeks. 😂 Everything that managed not to die over the summer is greening up and beginning production finally.
Lovely Catherine lots of info there im in north west London x
I killed my astilbe as well and i had in shade but it was so hot and didn’t get enough water for roots to establish. Maybe I’ll try now since it’s hurricane season and hopefully it will establish its roots. Such a pretty plant.
Lovely garden❤
❤❤
❤
You might try on the heucheras at the corner wall that you said you hope they come back to dig up and divide them. They look like they have heaved and if you do that then it’ll give them a better chance. Also plant them a little deeper and mulch. Hope that helps.
That is so helpful Judy, thank you x
Omg I love your wall colour of the kitchen what is that colour please !!!
👍🏼🤗❤️
❤👍👍👍👍👍👍
If you lived in ZONE 9B what would you grow ? 🤗
Dreaming of a European Garden 😌🛌
Thanks and 🐝 well
Until the next !
Bee well, I love it! For sunny weather that gets less rain, I would look at growing herbs and drought tolerant plants, if you watch my Provence vlog, you can see what they have growing there, if you have a similar climate, these would be fab x
@@DaintyDiaries noted TY 😊
Catherine, I really enjoy all of your videos, both the home ones and the garden ones. However, I do wish that you would treat yourself to a set of cordless WiFi earphones because I always worry that you will get the wires tangled up in the rose bushes and do yourself a little mishap!! 🎧
Can you put Hostas in the shaded area of the side garden?
I can but they are the only plant that slugs devour in my garden so I don't bother with them anymore x
That figures. Lol
Do you save your deadheads? I save mine every year
No not every one of them, because they're is so many, but I will collect seeds x
👍💚x
❤
