I love all your tutorials, thank you so much. You teach wonderfully. The "problem" that I have found with the hyperlink function is that if I use the Query function to filter data in another sheet, the links stop working. Only the label text appears, as plain text.
@Allen Lee I didn't know I could link directly to a spreadsheet tab. That's very helpful with my organization. I run my entire business through Google Docs and Google Sheets. Which means I have a lot of them. I have one master spreadsheet with links to all my other sheets. Think of it like having a homepage so I can navigate easily and quickly to the sheets I need. The issue I was having was whenever I would open the link, it would take me to whatever's have I was on last in that sheet. Sometimes, the tab it opens 2 is all the way to the right, which is just a mild inconvenience. Add that up with other mild inconveniences, and it becomes a big hassle. And sometimes I need to share sheet with a client but they only need to see a specific tab. This saves the trouble of having to instruct them to find the tab that pertains to them. And in general, this UA-camr creates fantastic, easy-to-follow tutorials. So I just wanted to give him a nice compliment on top of saying how useful this one was to me.
@@richardthemagician8991 Inspired by your idea, I am adding a "Menu" tab as my first tab in my frequently used Google Sheets. Here I build a navigation menu with tab names (or descriptions), and then insert links for those names. This way I can navigate my 40 some tabs in the spreadsheet much easier.
Thank you for this great video. In your first example where you created an external link, is there a way to then have that link appear in a separate field? At the 1:00 mark, you create the field that says "Click Here" and it has a link but that link isn't visible. I want to be able to show the link in G2 without having to retype the entire link. Possible?
You have such great a way to teach that it is so easy to understand. Thanks! I was wondering, could you make a video on Materialize CSS? You went into it in your 14-part series on web apps about 4 years ago and it was great. Thank you!!
Thanks for your helpful videos! I've watched several but still having trouble finding a solution to what I'm looking for, so, I'm wondering if you can answer a question for me. I'm trying to link Spreadsheets and import cells that have hyperlinks. I can't get the hyperlinks to transfer, only the text shows up. Is there a way around this? What am I missing?
video idea: new google sheets functions in 2023 ToRow, ToCol, ChooseRows, ChooseCols, WrapRows, WrapCols, VStack, HStack, MarginOfError, EpochToDate, Let. (I know some of them like Let is already covered in your previous videos)
This was a great video but the only thing it didn't show is how do you point to different parts of the sheet not just a range. I couldn't find the command
for example in a1 you can add link moving you to the first not empty row (dynamically) in column a, row a1 is locked since it usually has titles of columns very handy if you have a big sheet
Thanks for all the helpul tutorials! I vaugly remember you showing how to define a function in a way so that it doesn't show up as an option on the trigger menu. (this function was only to be used by other functions). Can you remind me how that's done? I know this question is unrelated to this video but I'm not sure where else I can ask it. Thanks again!

Thanks a lot for all the knowledge over this time. Ps: Could you teach us how to clear a cell when filling another one? E.g., if you fill the cell "A1", then "B3" will be erased and vice-versa.
Thanks, as always, for your videos!! I'm having trouble creating a link on a cell that is the result of a formula. I want the result to be the link to a tab/cell. Is this not possible? Thanks.
What would be the Google Sheets equivalent of this Excel formula: =IF(J2=0,"",HYPERLINK("#SPCodes!A"&MATCH(J2,SPCodes!$A:$A,0),J2))? I can't make it work in Sheets.
How to change the default link color for all links in a Google Sheet? I've tried other guides but they didn't work for me. I ask since I've manually colored many links in a file and I'd rather not anymore. Thankee!
It would be great if Google Sheets could offer a way to link files together, just like Power Pivot does. With this feature, users would be able to easily combine data from multiple sheets, making it easier to build complex reports and gain insights from their data.
I'm curious. What do you mean by link files together? I believe you can already do exactly what you described with Google Sheets. I combine data from multiple sheets all the time to create complex record-keeping.

The only way to print with script is to use some third party API that allows to print on your printer. You won't be able to replicate clicking on the print button.
