Darbuka Samai
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- This follows the form of the classical saz samai but in this one the darbuka is the soloist and the oud is playing a repetitive vamp underneath.
Raquy Danziger - Darbuka
Michael Joseph Burdi - Oud
Filmed in Brooklyn, Oct 2017

fantastic. I actually met her in the midwest years ago. A very kindly and gentle soul. I never forgot it. And the band blew the roof off.
سئ جدا
العزف غير متناسق مع الترويس نهائيا
Peace be upon you.. a warm greeting to you.. the oud has an eloquent tune, well done... and it has the rhythm at the top... rhythm smoothly and with complete comfort... really well done.. moving the left hand is very difficult.. and what a secret between the artist and His musical instrument.🤩👏
Not bad but you cannot do a real doumbek beat like with a drumbeat rolling on every other measure.
Beautiful!!! I especially like that the oud player defines the down beat so well and that allows Raquy to shine around the pocket.
Exceptional technique with the darbuka my dear, I play as well, wish I had similar skill 👍 Where did you take lessons ? Thanks
Girl on the drum spot on I don’t know what the other guy smoking but that shit sucks
🤎💜💙💛
awful, no harmony between darbuka and oud
I love your green eyes, you are so beautiful. I love you🎃🎻🎸
The comments here about her playing are very sad. I bet if she was an Arabic male y'all would be filled with praise. Great job Raquy!
Simply great this sound...part of my roots !
Hugs from Brazil !
Gracias padrea árabes por vuestro legado soy lo que dejasteis aquí en españa el al-andalus
nice
Music loose the soul of it when it’s played just for showing skills.
it feels monotone
playing darbuka is not only about finger rolls
you need to maintain some balanced and proportional transmissions between different playing moves..
let the piece take a little "breath"
I fuc+#-#kin agree with you. But she wont listen.. 😠
Jo T read her intro, O Judge-mental one
Don't be afraid of silence...
(s)prout comme le nouveau brawleur !!!!!
This is not an Arab music, rhythm drum in the direction and oud in another direction
Yeah, it sounds like they are playing 2 different melodies, harmony or whatever. I know nothing about playing instruments or this type of music, but something isn't right here. Kind of like a bad drum circle where everyone is playing different shit at the same time.
BornN2Grave1 the oud player isn’t very good and the chick is overplaying to compensate
Is the darbouka metal or ceramic? What brand?
Darbouka is an Arabic rhythmic musical instrument. consists of a conical pottery shape, with a piece of a high quality leather attached to it.
This one is aluminium
Counting it 10/8, second part as 4 bars of 6/8 (could go as 12/8)? Back to 10/8 - NICE!
instigations yes!
Is it not 10/4?
Asim Naveed its 10/8 Samai rhythm for most of the song. The last verse is 6/8 and then it goes back to 10 for the final chorus. Good job counting!
اللحن غير مفهوم سيء وغير متناسق
وليس من اي مقام او لحن عربي
Im sorry I like her...
وينكك ياعلي عن ذا الترويس 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

متشکر وممنون افرین به این پنجه ها
❤❤❤❤❤
This woman is AWESOME! All of that drumming is done with her fingers! ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! Michael Burdi - you are very good too on the Lute! LOL
It's not called a lute it's called a Oud and its origins are from the middle east
Sounds like mastodon)
شي بسود الوجه
The oud's melody did not quite capture the spirit. It was awful.
اللحن غير متناسق ! ما يصلح هز و روقان
I think this is a well performed ugly performance😬🐏
exactly lol
fan tas tic derbouka playing
What
Is
This
?
gooooooooooooooood
I am sorry that I do not know who sent a negative message to me... it was lost in the thousands of emails that I receive every month from multiple email addresses... but the gist of the message was that the instrument this guy is playing in NOT A LUTE but something else.
OK... duly noted!
NEVERTHELESS.... I stand by my prior opinion that these two are absolutely fantastic musicians!! I am totally AMAZED by the drumming of this woman who does it all with just her fingers. The guy that she is backing up is also and probably more obviously very talented. I just do not know the proper name for the instrument that he is playing.
BTW - I am a Bass Player - by birth - which explains my interest with drumming/drummers.

Beatiful 😍😍
Darbuka player may have a good technique but I think her playing sounds prastic and boring.
Fast and same fingerling,, not emotional and no particular color in each notes. She is probably more into playing in front of camera.. To play music doesnt mean to have an amzing technique but it is often enough to play from our heart. Try to improvise or try to express with really listening to our heart.
Therefore I dont like to see this kinda video in which someone can play music technically good but rather showing off finally.
Doce ❤
She plays like a machine. Also there is no harmony in this music.
Azad adam in some westernized Arabic music their is some slight harmony. The Oud player isn’t that good , and isn’t mic’s the way he should be. She’s fantastic
Please don't give bad image to arabic music wtf are you doing ? There is one thing arabs are good at and that is music, ... Please stop for god's sake
Wah 💕
Hai baby

Hi Omri, glad you liked it. The Darbuka Samai can be purchased at: raquy.bandcamp.com/track/darbuka-samai but not the version with oud.
Moroccan chaibbi
REPEATED BORING NOTES ........................
Sexy percussions =))
Name of this musical instrument isn't oud
Arabs call this instrument oud and Oud in arabic means wood
Barbat is real name of this instrument Barbat created this instrument,
ua-cam.com/video/bt5tpAsgjI8/v-deo.html
a historical Sassanian, Kushanian and Baktrian Instrument it's not Arabic or middle Eastern
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbat_(lute)
No, my friend. The barbat is a VERY similar instrument but what you see in the video is most certainly an Arabic oud. Notice how the barbat curves quite far into the neck whereas the oud is less so. Perhaps the oud may have come from the barbat but that doesn't make them the same instrument (it's only a theory until there is actual evidence to prove it). And anyway, what does it matter if oud means wood. After all, what's the instrument made of?
Proud Iranian Learn the differentiate between Oud and the other one. Oud is originally from Mesopotamia “Iraq and Syria” and some of experts said that is from Andalusia.
Horribly terrible.
