I never thought Barbie was anti-men, if anything, it gives a unique perspective in regards to gender roles by flipping the power dynamics of the genders in Barbie Land. Male audiences can relate to all of the Kens being considered as second class citizens largely due to having absolutely no political representation in Barbie Land and also see the parallels when it comes to the power disparity of the Kens in Barbie Land and women in the real world. Yes, the movie criticizes patriarchy but it also doesn’t agree that a matriarchal society would be any better when it comes to achieving true equality in society.
