Emmure is a great band.
I don't understand why people hate this band. I think it's because they don't understand what Emmure is about. They aren't about making popular music with catchy melodies, or indie music that's "cool" to listen to because they're progressive. The reason why this band sticks out to me among others is the realness. I love how honest Frankie's lyrics are. Yeah they're offensive and yeah they might not be the most "creative" but this is raw emotion spit out through the mic. I listen to almost every genre of metal. Everything from attack!attack! To opeth. And out of all these bassdropcore bands (lol) emmure is my favorite. To me the music reflects the lyrical content perfectly. If i wrote a song about the fear and anger i have because i have to get tested for aids. I wouldn't put a bunch of catchy melodies in. I'd put chugs and minor second chords. But Emmure also has a lot of emotional songs. Drop your biases and listen to the emotional intensity in mdma, last words to rose (my favorite) or rusted over wet dreams. Frankie screams about a lot of things a lot of people have felt but repress. Frankie doesn't repress his anger and I love that realness that he brings.

Nathan Stambaugh I think Emmure DID have a bassist back in 2007......but they murdered him because he wanted to have his bass playing recorded instead of sitting back while the bass was being programmed in their Mac computer.
+havoren mark Davis has been their bassist since 2003 and he's real good. I think you should look more into his tabs, because I'm 100% you're wrong. I don't mean to be the "crazy fan" but I've seen them way more than I probably should have and watching him play is quite an experience. from one bassist to another, that man is a cannon.

I never have understood whats so wrong about sounding how they sound, honestly simplicity is a good thing, they know they chug. I don't think they are oblivious to that. I enjoy Emmure quite a bit, but they really choose some of the worst songs to make singles/music videos. This, MDMA and Children of Cybertron are practically the worst choices off of the two albums. I would much have rather seen She Gave Her Heart to Deadpool or Cross Over Attack and Demons with Ryu or 4 Poisons 3 Words or something than these mediocre tracks.
At least Solar Flare Homicide and A Gift A Curse are some pretty cool songs!
