When they re-do G1 characters it's exciting because most of their original figures were bricks that barely looked anything like their show counterparts, but with stuff like this there really isn't a point. At best it's the equivalent of an expensive reissue.
Yeah that's understandable for people who already have the figure but I never owned any transformers figures until Armada so this set is definitely a pick up for me .

RID 2001 Prime's super mode makes me think of the Megaman X 1 armour. Trimmed white, a BIT more ornate, but still clearly the same guy inside. And I don't say that as a negative. I love the simplicity of the X1 armour, and I think it looks pretty cool here.

The Haslab... oh boy, it looks amazing, its very good looking, But i'm not getting it, one i can't pull together £250 in about a month, 2 i have no attachment to fire convoy if its offered to me as a gift, yes but i'm not paying that price for all that Edit:... i'm now in debt, yeah i backed it, RID grew on me

Im gonna be totally honest, the Haslab Unicron kinda turned me off from ever wanting to get a Haslab. I get why the Haslabs are cool, but they're just so much money for a guy who's broke 90% of the time. I know $250 isn't the most expensive a Transformers can get (Haslab Unicron), but I have to really weigh my options, because there are other figures that aren't Transformers that I wanna get. Not to discredit anyone who loves to get Haslabs, but I personally will never buy them unless it's of one of my favorite character, like a commander sized Grimlock, that would be awesome. No gimmicks or anything just big Dino.
Haslab RID Prime I so worth it imho. I don't know why people say it's not. 2 commander class figures with 1 Deluxe. I wished I have enough money to back it too. If I'm still a bachelor I will be all over it. I'm with you with the gamer editions those designs sucks.

When I was watching it live, after they told us everything in the package I guessed it would cost 250. The offering is good and the engineering, from listening to others, sounds tight. I keep hearing people talking about the cost of molds and shipping and whatnot saying it should be cheaper but they always seem to forget that dude with a masters degree in engineering created it. good engineers are not cheap to hire and Transformers need to have good engineering to be worth buying. So ya I think I would be balking if this price was 300 or more but 250 sounds like the goldylocks zone to me. I always regreted that I never got these as a kid because I really enjoyed RID2001 heres hoping we get mainline releases of those quirky autobot contructacons. :)
This will be the last one of your videos that I comment on it's nothing you've done I've just lost my love for transformers. I can't afford to buy them anymore, there is nothing coming out that I want really and the fandom has only gotten worse, in my experience anyway. And their combine mode as Omega Prime is awesome. Like how the Hasbro dudes did a comparison with the original RID 2001 figures. -Cool, Hasbro made a Legacy United Animated Universe Chromia. That's new. Wait what?... She's the Cyberverse Chromia. How disappointing. She looks nothing like her Cyberverse design. Hasbro should have used the Legacy Prime Arcee mold, since the Cyberverse show Chromia design is originally base on the Thrilling 30s toy, which was a retool of the Prime show Arcee toy. And I know the Legacy Arcee mold has been used a lot and not very favored. But at least, with a bit of remolding and windshield accessory, it would make Chromia accurate to her Cyberverse show design more so than what this figure.
The only High Moon designs that are actually good, I think, are WFC Optimus, Shockwave, and Warpath. WFC Optimus is a believable yet fantastic twist on a Cybertronian Optimus. WFC Warpath is a straight upgrade. Most people prefer this to the cuddly and weird G1 version. WFC Shockwave is a straight design translation, a streamlining. Not a bit of the others' ultra chonk affects Shockwave. He is always the outlier. WFC game Shockwave and Warpath. Come on.

I am like 99% sure that this incarnation has a separate head for omega prime. Look closely, blue eyes gold trim. Prime’s super mode has silver chrome trim on the antennae and yellow eyes. Gamer Edition Sideswipe: Nah, you good, that thing looks like shit, just like 99% of the line. The original FoC toy was a new head repaint of FoC Jazz...it wasn't great, but definitely better than this fugly thing. Cyberverse Chromia: ...yeah, the Animated Prowl retool ain't a convincing Chromia. Looks cool, but it ain't convincing in the slightest. Rock Lord "Shard": He's supposed to be an emerald or something along them lines. Meh. Omega Prime (Optimus+Magnus): Bluebolts is basically Magnus's bigass winged gun. And the Takara designer who also designed the originals from Car Robots/RiD01 wanted to make it a robot of its own...apparently something he wanted to do the first time around but couldn't for whatever reason. Daaamn, I want this set, but unless a massive miracle the size of the sun happens to occur within the next couple weeks, I'm pretty sure I won't be able to get in on this (because budget already eats up so much shit that it's pure grade luck whenever I CAN get anything for myself lately). 😑 Optimus looks fine enough, Magnus is still gloriously goofy as hell, and combined is still awesomesaucity.
I think the Chromia can work just fine as a Chromia, just not that version of her. And yeah I know a lot of people will miss out on this thanks to the price, even if it's a good price for what it is.
I don't get why alls of these fan beloved characters getting reduced to retools or pretools of characters that DON'T FIT the specific interpretation of the character they are claiming to be doing: -Prime Arcee? Why wasting time on a beloved main character when we can make it a pretool of a semi-obscure nobody from G2? -Prime Knockout? Literally red genericon G1 Jazz -Cyberverse Shadowstriker? Timelines Shadowstriker so they can remake it into Sideburn -Cyberverse Chromia? Head inaccuracy aside, the only motorbike Chromias are IDW and Bayformers I'm not saying that these are bad figures (although many people are not really impressed by Shadowstriker), but they are NOT the characters they are being advertised at! Call me jaded, but I suspect that if the very same thing happened to G1 characters, people wouldn't be so accepting... hell, people riot even when a character advertised as NOT being the G1 version ends up NOT being the G1 version! Remember the outrage when Cybertron Metroplex ended up bein *le gasp* CYBERTON METROPLEX instead of G1 Metroplex? Imagine Hasbro was to announce a new G1 universe Starscream only to reveal a Prime Starscream in G1 colors. It's unfair to do this sh*tty adaptations only because fans of those characters are so starved for attention that they'll end up buying anyway, knowing it's the best they're gonna get for a LOOOOOONG time. I am fully aware that Chromia will never be Optimus Prime or Soundwave, but she still has fans. ... The rock copter looks amazing, though, love it! It has Waspinator vibes, but the color scheme also reminds me of that minicon assault team in Generations.

Shard (the new rock) is honestly making me want to get the other two. I thought they looked okay, but she (using that until official reveal says otherwise) just looks so much cooler than any weaponizer we’ve gotten. Omega Prime looks great, the Haslabs just get better and better. Now let’s hope the curse kicks in and we get an 86 Swoop or Legacy Sandstorm reveal in the next day or two.
Too bad they’re selling Omega Prime here in Australia for $750. With no Haslab here the two stores that are act as Haslab distributors have dramatically increased the price.
It's nice to see a new RID prime and Magnus, but I'm not that hyped. That's really it to be honest, I know that's a downer statement but I don't really get excited for has labs, it's just stuff I know I'll never get
I agree with you on Chromia. And the solution is so simple they'll never use it: just call it Animated Chromia. We have seen Hasbro use, reuse and sometimes abuse repaints and redecos turning the nth production on a model into a G2 or a Diaclone figure. With Animated, there is plenty of fanart giving the Animated treatment to this or that character. This would work.
Cybervese chromia is one of my favorite designs from the show and I was really excited for her, so being a prowl repaint sucks (even tho I like prowl and the paint is pretty) I will get her as an animated chromia but it’s really disappointing as what she’s supposed to be (iguanus genuinely fits her better)
I’m honestly kind of shocked to see PE not only like the Haslab, but also say its price is valid. It seems to be the popular opinion that it’s overpriced and not different enough from the original.
I mean why should it be different from the Original, the OG was both Accurate and loaded with Value. Meanwhile this is doing all the same stuff, packing it all together, and doing it all bigger and better.
Finally a Haslab I can actually get, I didn’t have the money when Deathsaurus was on sale and I wasn’t back into Transformers when the first two came out

It looks like ge sideswipe looks like both arms can be removed for the arm gun gimmick, and thank god they did it once. Should of been done for all of them but at least it’s been done once
RID Prime is really good looking. This is the first Haslab I’m seriously considering buying. The price is a tough pill to swallow but it looks like he’s going to do literally everything I could ask of him. I really hope we get the rest of the Autobot brothers to go along with this and the inevitable Sideburn we know is coming.

I share your sentiment on the Sideswipe and Shard. I REALLY want to get my hands on all the rock guys. And Chase, I liked Rescue Bots when I saw it for the first time a year ago, shockingly good and coherent series all things considered. Chase was easily the best "fish out of water when it comes to humor" type of character I've seen in a long time since he's so direct and un-comedic.

-Haslab RID 2001 fire truck Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, and Bluebolts looks so cool. And their combine mode as Omega Prime is awesome. Like how the Hasbro dudes did a comparison with the original RID 2001 figures.
-Cool, Hasbro made a Legacy United Animated Universe Chromia. That's new. Wait what?... She's the Cyberverse Chromia. How disappointing. She looks nothing like her Cyberverse design. Hasbro should have used the Legacy Prime Arcee mold, since the Cyberverse show Chromia design is originally base on the Thrilling 30s toy, which was a retool of the Prime show Arcee toy. And I know the Legacy Arcee mold has been used a lot and not very favored. But at least, with a bit of remolding and windshield accessory, it would make Chromia accurate to her Cyberverse show design more so than what this figure.

The only High Moon designs that are actually good, I think, are WFC Optimus, Shockwave, and Warpath.
WFC Optimus is a believable yet fantastic twist on a Cybertronian Optimus.
WFC Warpath is a straight upgrade. Most people prefer this to the cuddly and weird G1 version.
WFC Shockwave is a straight design translation, a streamlining. Not a bit of the others' ultra chonk affects Shockwave. He is always the outlier.
WFC game Shockwave and Warpath. Come on.
And the Optimus is WAY better in WFC, than he is in FOC. The FOC design is so lame.
He was “Fire Convoy” in Japan, “God fire convoy” in super mode, not sure if it was “omega prime” in japan when he merged with Magnus.
I am like 99% sure that this incarnation has a separate head for omega prime. Look closely, blue eyes gold trim. Prime’s super mode has silver chrome trim on the antennae and yellow eyes. My guess is the omega prime head is cleverly hidden within Magnus

Gamer Edition Sideswipe: Nah, you good, that thing looks like shit, just like 99% of the line. The original FoC toy was a new head repaint of FoC Jazz...it wasn't great, but definitely better than this fugly thing.
Cyberverse Chromia: ...yeah, the Animated Prowl retool ain't a convincing Chromia. Looks cool, but it ain't convincing in the slightest.
Rock Lord "Shard": He's supposed to be an emerald or something along them lines. Meh.
Omega Prime (Optimus+Magnus): Bluebolts is basically Magnus's bigass winged gun. And the Takara designer who also designed the originals from Car Robots/RiD01 wanted to make it a robot of its own...apparently something he wanted to do the first time around but couldn't for whatever reason. Daaamn, I want this set, but unless a massive miracle the size of the sun happens to occur within the next couple weeks, I'm pretty sure I won't be able to get in on this (because budget already eats up so much shit that it's pure grade luck whenever I CAN get anything for myself lately). 😑 Optimus looks fine enough, Magnus is still gloriously goofy as hell, and combined is still awesomesaucity.
I think the Chromia can work just fine as a Chromia, just not that version of her.
And yeah I know a lot of people will miss out on this thanks to the price, even if it's a good price for what it is.
I don't get why alls of these fan beloved characters getting reduced to retools or pretools of characters that DON'T FIT the specific interpretation of the character they are claiming to be doing:
-Prime Arcee? Why wasting time on a beloved main character when we can make it a pretool of a semi-obscure nobody from G2?
-Prime Knockout? Literally red genericon G1 Jazz
-Cyberverse Shadowstriker? Timelines Shadowstriker so they can remake it into Sideburn
-Cyberverse Chromia? Head inaccuracy aside, the only motorbike Chromias are IDW and Bayformers
I'm not saying that these are bad figures (although many people are not really impressed by Shadowstriker), but they are NOT the characters they are being advertised at!
Call me jaded, but I suspect that if the very same thing happened to G1 characters, people wouldn't be so accepting... hell, people riot even when a character advertised as NOT being the G1 version ends up NOT being the G1 version!
Remember the outrage when Cybertron Metroplex ended up bein *le gasp* CYBERTON METROPLEX instead of G1 Metroplex?
Imagine Hasbro was to announce a new G1 universe Starscream only to reveal a Prime Starscream in G1 colors.
It's unfair to do this sh*tty adaptations only because fans of those characters are so starved for attention that they'll end up buying anyway, knowing it's the best they're gonna get for a LOOOOOONG time.

Shard (the new rock) is honestly making me want to get the other two. I thought they looked okay, but she (using that until official reveal says otherwise) just looks so much cooler than any weaponizer we’ve gotten. Omega Prime looks great, the Haslabs just get better and better. Now let’s hope the curse kicks in and we get an 86 Swoop or Legacy Sandstorm reveal in the next day or two.

Too bad they’re selling Omega Prime here in Australia for $750. With no Haslab here the two stores that are act as Haslab distributors have dramatically increased the price.

Animated Prowl is probably the worst mold to make a Chromia out of. Especially the slim figure of her in Cyberverse

I agree with you on Chromia. And the solution is so simple they'll never use it: just call it Animated Chromia.
We have seen Hasbro use, reuse and sometimes abuse repaints and redecos turning the nth production on a model into a G2 or a Diaclone figure. With Animated, there is plenty of fanart giving the Animated treatment to this or that character. This would work.
That would have made sense, I don't know why they wouldn't do that.
Cybervese chromia is one of my favorite designs from the show and I was really excited for her, so being a prowl repaint sucks (even tho I like prowl and the paint is pretty) I will get her as an animated chromia but it’s really disappointing as what she’s supposed to be (iguanus genuinely fits her better)

I do know the feel, but they may wind up looking nicer by the time they are finished, as they are still in the prototype stage, and that lots of stuff does lots of stuff.

It looks like ge sideswipe looks like both arms can be removed for the arm gun gimmick, and thank god they did it once. Should of been done for all of them but at least it’s been done once
They were able to switch arm the guns went on in the game so it would make sense.

RID Prime is really good looking. This is the first Haslab I’m seriously considering buying. The price is a tough pill to swallow but it looks like he’s going to do literally everything I could ask of him. I really hope we get the rest of the Autobot brothers to go along with this and the inevitable Sideburn we know is coming.

I share your sentiment on the Sideswipe and Shard. I REALLY want to get my hands on all the rock guys.
And Chase, I liked Rescue Bots when I saw it for the first time a year ago, shockingly good and coherent series all things considered. Chase was easily the best "fish out of water when it comes to humor" type of character I've seen in a long time since he's so direct and un-comedic.
Personally I've never tried Rescue bots. I doubt it's my cup of tea.
