    This is one of the best I've seen of the Albatros DIII. Beautifully done. Just magnificent.

    Your finished Roden aircrafts will hold their own in the company of built-up Wingnut Wings models thanks to your diligent and skillful work. Very inspiring.

    I watched all 3 parts of your Albatros DIII build a while back, but wanted to review this today. Another magnificent model! You are a wizard at turning Roden kits into Wingnut Wings look a likes. Probably better. I"m still in awe of how you fashion turnbuckles and rigging hooks. Cheers!

      Thanks, I do not mind to get metal accessories instead of resin ones from them. lol

    There is a b/w-photo with this machine in the background. But it is at least doubtful if the stripes were really red. I think they were black, which is more logical.

      Yes, I know about that photo, you can find it in one of the videos, also I found the description that the plane was either black/white or red/white. I decided to paint it red/white, right now no one knows how it was in the real life, but, at least the looks very bright and interesting

    I have been watching your videos all evening...I love your clean work and all the beautiful colors of these WW1 planes. I build mostly WW2 fighters in 1/32, and i'm considering doing a collection of WW1 but in 1/48. Do you think there are good enough quality kits out there in 1/48 to get nice results similar to what you have here? Keep up the GREAT content and thanks for sharing !

    • @FlyingCircusModels
      @FlyingCircusModels  3 роки тому

      Thank you, Gabriel. One of the reasons why I love WW1 plane is their colors, not just boring grey, like we have on modern planes, or different shades of green, like on WW2 planes)) As far as I know Eduard does nice kits in 1/48, Roden also (but with Roden you need a lot of patience, putty and sand paper 😀). Good luck with your new collection!!!

    Super job and an awesome looking plane....the final result is stunning. Another very enjoyable series so will be checking out the next build, the Fokker E.II soon. I see why you say this is your best model yet.....mine so far is a WNW Rumpler C.IV. I use the Gaspatch metal accessories and they turn out really well....and don't break......so highly recommend them.
    Out of curiosity I'm guessing that, given your skill with building model biplanes, you have possibly (?) built more than you have shown on UA-cam. If so, how many do you have in your collection?

      thanks, I've been building models for more than 20 years already, and of course I had a huge collection of different planes/ships/tanks/figures, different scales as well. I sold everything a bit more than 3 years ago, when I moved to Canada. Starting from last year I decided to come back to my favorite hobby, right now I post here everything I build, I have only 1 finished model that I didn't post here (but have full video of the process) - it's a 1/32 SBD -2 Dauntless. I think it's not the right format for the channel, but, perhaps, I will create a separate folder with other than WW1 planes projects

      @@FlyingCircusModels Thanks for replying....I thought your skill was way beyond the beginner! It's incredible how many of us modellers return to the hobby after years of hiatus. I returned after 30 years and love it.

    Gotta questions and please correct me, weren't the rigging cables on WW1 aircraft steel cabling, if so why not use gray thread instead off black? Just curious.

    • @FlyingCircusModels
      @FlyingCircusModels  3 роки тому

      yes, you are correct they used steel cables, I practised with different materials and found this black wire is the best for rigging (at least for me)) ). Couple of years ago I decided to paint all rigging in silver and, in my opinion, model didn't look very nice, in comparison with black rigging.

      Thanks for reply. I want to mention to ya, Your channel name is Great. WW1 fighter pilots Fascinate me. It's not about picking a side. The Bravado and Fearlessness of these Short lived Young Men is Respectable to say the least. My favorite WW1 pilot is Werner Voss, Dead at 20 and had 48 victories in a10 month time. The way he went out is Borderline Crazy and Daring. You do Great work and look forward to more. Thanks Again.
