That’s a great transformation there Marko, and to my eye that looks like factory paint with the odd couple of dings here and there commensurate with a truck of that age thats worked a little over its life I think you’re brilliant 👍👍🏆
I've been watching these videos for a couple weeks now, went on the website to look at paint, I didn't realize Speedokote is in Dayton, that's less than half an hour from me! I know where I'm getting paint when I start painting!
I have an 09 ram with the paint peeling and I was wondering if it's something that I can do. Not a showroom finish, but if you're like maybe a mile away, it won't look so bad 😅
Lmao a lot more than a few hundy.. This is a 3000-4000$ job at a body shop. Now of course this isn't body shop quality as I expressed, but still have to charge at least 25-50% of what the shops are charging
@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 Wow!! That’s great money, Marco!! If you supplied the materials, I can definitely see where you’d need to charge at least $1000 or more then.
Hey Marco amazing job on the dodge. Since I have some smr 222 I was wondering if it will work with the smr 130 I have left over. I also plan to respray my trans am with the speedokote bright white single stage but I hear it’s super thin and has bad coverage. Is there anyway I can fix this?
@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 right I get that I plan on 4 thick coats for a hood cut and buff. Still wondering if that smr 222 universal activator will work with the smr 130
Hey man! love the vids! tech question for ya. I own a production body shop, mainly we are doing late model repairs, using spies clear mostly. I have not done a resto in years as there is no money in it haha Anyhow I have my own car that we are shooting this week. Having not messed with other clears in years I am realllly looking into the Speedokote SS-1200 for my suv. any experience with using more than the 2 recommended coats? I want to drop 4 on it as we plan to sand/buff the ole girl laser flat. How is the solvent pop situation? i have a great following booth, have you ever used more then the 2 coats of Speedokote SS-1200 and not encountered any pop down the road? thanks! back in the day I was using chromapremier for stuff like this, I could do 4-5 coats with no probs,
@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 i mean...im going to buff it lol, so the 42 is a higher build then their ss1200 glamour?!?! what is the ss1200 used for than?
Did a 2012 Ford truck bed not too long ago. I was getting horrible coverage with the blue. Very translucent. Many coats. I wanna get hooked up with a small car lot. The big dealerships here have their own paint n body shop in house.
I hate how dealerships work honestly. Thats why i dont do their work. Id rather pull dents and paint instead of painting over them but good job on your behalf. We cant do what we arent paid for
TBH they should have just asked you to put some filler in the dent to sell it I can't see them getting much more for it, besides that it looks alot better then it did shame they didnt want to spend a bit more
Over all we were super happy with it from what it was. And the fact I sprayed an entire bed right in a parking lot. No local body shop tech would have ever attempted that
This is about a 3000-4000$ job at a dealer ship. I need at least 50% of that to even consider it worth it and not degrade myself at the same time. I'm not some fart in the wind auto body painter at a local screw off shop 😂
I moved and have to work in a shop right now until I find some accounts. They got no paving it's all dirt outside. You'd think we were a dust factory instead of body shop.
I just don't get why you didn't fix the small little dents or the purpose of having such a great looking paint job but still having dents in it. Those little bitty dents could have easily been filled in with some bondo then sanded down and hit with a little primer first before you painted the bed. Might have taken an extra 30 minutes. I personally would've fixed the dents regardless if they paid me or not. Thats light work wouldn't have taken long at all
Yea I mean we are all different I get that. Used car work I mainly look for speed and customer satisfaction. If they are satisfied with the cheapest job possible and it will still last a little while, I'm happy. Now the restoration work at the body shop? We put A LOT more time into man. Check some of my other videos at my shop.
Love this trade. Thank you for showing and taking your time to show us your work man. Helping us all learn
Thanks!
Keep the videos coming, I know I speak for alot of us out there, we love them and learn alot!!
That's some crazy outside work. You really made it look worlds better, especially for where you had to do it at.
Yea man just a quick scratch and shoot!
You killed that bro. Good job.
This man is so real life results type of guy. Awesome video. Inspires the do it yourselfers
Love seeing the painting outside. I tried priming my bumper the other day and the wind had those helicopters flying all over the car 😂😂
Painting out side is hard for sure

400 grit I think. And spray gun is my brand mark1 eco

Can't see the dents from my house. Bluer is one of the many transparent colors. Looks good. For a quick spot job, done outside in the parking lot.
Absolutely man I only took out a few big ones, they mainly wanted all scratches gone. Looks 100% better but far from perfect
Love your skill on laying it down, what compressor do you use when you do mobile work? 🤘
Hf 21 gallon

Honestly just keep sanding with 180 grit till smooth , then go over it really good with 400 , mask and spray and you will have no issues
Nice
Would you mind sharing what they paid for that? It looks good, hope overspray didnt cause u problems man

Bauer from harbor freight. Electric. 110.
Bauer! Cordless

And nothing like spraying clearcoat, and then somebody backs up 4 feet from you, and their whole entire vehicle is now covered in overspray😂
