Very helpful information! Maybe I can get more than one bloom next spring by following your advice.

Your orchid looks very nice, not too big, I like it. With orchids every dpecific detail makes a lot of differance ❤️❤️

    Love your Coconut Orchid.💕
My Sister got me one for a birthday present in January. Surprisingly, it did bloom for me already. I was expecting a spike like my other Orchids, so when the first bud appeared I thought a mushroom had grown on my plant. Live and learn. 😂

I’m so glad! The variety I have is unfortunately more specific about its care in order to bloom but it seems I’ve figured it out! The way the blooms appear is different than other plants, funny you thought it was a mushroom 😁

Ours has been staying compact as well! And we were just able to finally bloom it, very exciting!

I like the look of moss getting along with the plant..

I know this is an old video, but in Ny (specifically north of the city) there's often extremely high iron content in wells. There's abandoned mines in the woods and everything. That's a big algae booster, and problematic for invertebrates like aquarium shrimp. Carbon filtration or rain water are possible solutions.

That’s interesting, I know my aunt who lives in Vermont has a big problem with iron in her water. I test my water every year and thankfully so far it is very clean and has a low ppm.

It won’t rot if I water the entire plant in between the area that holds the roots

No, it actually enjoys being watered this way. It’s how it gets watered in nature, it gets drenched! 😁

I have the tight growing one as well! It took me 4 years to get my little seedling (what was sold to me as blooming size 😆) I am kinda happy that I have the compact variety, because it really buys me time before it gets unruly and too big. Just so happy that mine was not mislabelled after all, because I have not seen these compact growing ones before I got mine. It would appear that they are not that unusual after all! Really appreciate you joining in, thank you so much! I hope that you are doing well and enjoying the summer 🤗❤️🙌🏼❤️ always! 🙏🏼

Ah nice! OK so that is what I need to do to make mine bloom! I have been impatiently patiently waiting for 4 years to bloom! Mine is same bulb type! Thanks for the information 👍 🙂

I’m so glad if this helps! I was scratching my head for a few years as well trying to get it to bloom.

@@daniellesorchidranch1591 Oh I bet!! I have had mine 5 years! I was really over frustrated with it! Seems others bloom it like no problem! But I had both types and couldn't get either to bloom! Sent the rambling one to Justin at Justin's orchids and more and guess what, it bloomed for him. 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣

@@hillbillyorchids oh how frustrating! But I understand because I used to be in the same situation.
Next spring I predict you will have blooms!
