I make my own journals from A4 copy paper, with card stock covers. Moleskine have small journals called Cahier, which are perfect for thumbnail sketches for specific projects. I make my journals 60 sheets thick called registers. Enough of these registers sewn together will create a nice thick journal. You can decorate your covers however you wish. There are plenty of UA-cam videos on how to hand make journals. I find it very rewarding making my own journals. Thanks for sharing your technique. I might have to give your idea a try.

Love the leather cover ❤❤❤. Thanks for sharing and your notebook hack 😮. I was able to get the 23-24 daily Moleskine thanks to you! I love fat notebooks too. Been hooked on your channel for long time and I too miss older YTubers who no longer post 😢. Love your chatty videos where you share food ideas, what your drinking and the notebooks your using at the moment. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
i did this with composition notebooks. I also went to staples and had them cut the book down. I just told them the dimensions i wanted and they cut them perfectly. Then I put the 3 books together and now i have a jumbo 5x7 comp notebook :)
I messaged the moleskine website a few weeks ago requesting an undated daily pocket planner with extra note pages but keeping the yearly/monthly overview 😊 I also suggested they release exclusive covers each year to keep customers coming back. What a dream!!
Hi Michelle, OMG that cover is gorgeous! my birthday is tomorrow July 13th so I may consider ordering in the future when I can better afford it. I love how you design your own and make sense of the reasons why you added or changed a feature; it totally makes sense. Sending Luv your way always ❤🌹📖
gurl! yer a genius! i have about 40 of those dollar tree notebooks, i mainly sketch in them or journal...been running through them super quick..about 2 in a month... i might not want it trimmed but the idea is genius! 😍😍😍 love the cover btw
This video came just in time. Iv been debating on only purchasing a moterm cover and then using blank notebooks for 2025 for a more affordable planner year and you just convinced me even further to go for it! Thanks for sharing as always 🙌🏽
My Myrittle ships this week and I’m so excited. I got a sample with my customs I got this weekend from May. And I’m even more excited. And now I think I might need a JL brown with it too. Oh no 🤑
I have a simple leather cover with bands, from Patricia Nash. I think it was sold with just a notebook. But, it's the perfect size for the WM Pen + Gear daily planners. I LOVE it! I cut down an eccolo monthly planner, so I would have a place to see the entire year, and cut down a Dollar Tree notebook and put in the back, for notes. I absolutely love my little creation.
I made one tonight!! Brilliant!!! Thank you for sharing! I bought 3 more to make a second one. While I was at Dollar Tree, I also found blank B6 size notebooks that were bound the same, but they were filled with different colors of paper. I was on a mission for these, but now I keep wondering...🤔
Very clever! I never would’ve thought to do this. Thank you for the idea! ❤ And I love the cover you commissioned; just beautiful! (Sorry for all the exclamation points).
Good idea with the multiple notebooks being bonded together. I'd be able to save the trip to the office supply store, I'd just take mine out to the shop and use the chop saw and cut it down to the size I want. A band saw would be the best way, but with a good blade on a table saw or chop saw you could get the same results if you don't want to go to the store to have your custom notebooks cut down....for rounding the corners a belt or disc sander would make quick work of the corner rounding. The black tape is a great idea, although there are several different colors available now to kind of match your task. I like the Traveler's style passport size notebooks, and have been thinking about making a multi-notebook like you did, just to have 1 notebook in the cover rather than several. Another thing you could do is buy lined, grid, or blank notebooks, and combine them together as well for different notebook tasks. I don't really journal, I use them for notes and task lists for home and work.
@@mysticfox1105 For the most part, yes. But, of course, each hide is different and could vary slightly. I scrolled through their social media to get a better idea of how certain colors look.😊
Love it! I actually already had this idea in mind to replace my stalogy due budget cuts. Just an FYI, I brought a cheap brand of a twsbi eco dupe on Amazon, Epakh- 4 pack refillable fountain pens, filled them with noodler's black ink and they write on that dollar tree paper beautifully without bleed through and very little ghosting. In fact I like the Epakh brand pens better than my twsbi...they are more inky and flow better. I brought them for my teen boys for homeschool as they were going through gel pens so fast with all the writing they do. Since it came with 4 pen I grabbed one as well and have been waiting with it all month and find it's to be my go to writing pen on all the papers even on Tomoe River paper, now as we all know Tomoe River paper takes some dry time, but this pen actually makes me like Tomoe River paper. Depending on the paper you might have to watch for transfer ink issues especially if your journaling fast and page after page. I just use another piece of loose paper in-between as I journal and don't have a problem. They hold a good deal of ink and I feel they're a good weight. I have small hands and I'm soft handed when I write. My twsbi eco always felt very heavy and my hand would get very tired writing with it. I don't have that issue with the Epakh brand. It does post well but I'm not one who post the cap when using fountain pen, but note that I have only have experience with twsbi eco and the Epakh brand. The Epakh brand is making me more interested in fountain pens where the twsbi eco did not make me feel like hey fountains are the way to go. My boys are on summer break so I don't have a full review from them yet, but their first impressions were good and they are willing to use them. One did some sketches with it and liked it quite well. At the moment I would say it's the perfect pen.
I think I will use this brilliant idea of yours to make a chunky a5 slim notebook with some of the a5 ones I have that aren’t as thick as I’d like. So glad you shared this idea! 💡
