Beautiful car
It's a lot nicer than it used ot be!
Any issues with the brake pedals?
Nope, they work as normal
Standard DCT (not the optional DCT with wheel pads) DOES NOT allow for manual gears changing! Huge drawback for many drivers! The old model allows for auto or manual operation for both the DCT or the torque converter automatic installed on hybrid versions. Also the 0 to 100km is slower simply because the weight increased... Not everything is wonderful in the new active tourer!
thanks for bringing that up. This could be an important point for driving enthusiasts, although in our experience, most people don't use paddle shifters that often
@@CarBuyerComSg That's true. But I am not sure if someone buying a BMW finds appropriate not to be able to change gears manually. I drive 99% of the time in auto mode... but I would certainly miss that 1% when I change to manual shift! :-) After all it is a BMW.
It looks more like a SUV??? What's the point? Why more luxurious? Put it on a gravel road and you'll see the SUV... I have a previous generation 225xe and I will never use it in poor condition roads... It's not made for this. Neither this one. Risk damage the hybrid power train or even the automatic gearbox and you're done! Materials are not better than in previous generation. Assembly is also similar. This version is basically a wheel and a tablet. Why having a tablet on a car is more luxurious?? A 100EUR cell phone has thousands of features more... Just because it's a new model, is it necessarily much better? These reviews make people run to buy newer versions, and some times they might get a bit disappointed since the new product might not offer much more than the previous one (after that first month of enchantment)! It is exactly the sane petrol engine as before. 136hp is enough but it is not a lot. Combine with the electric motos of the PHEV version it is another story. You also forgot to say that the car drives smoother because now it combines the DCT (horrible at low speeds) with a mild-hybrid technology. So the stop&start system is smoother. These models only come with the DCT gearbox. No manual transmission. But hey, use too much the DCT in low speed traffic (inching forward a lot) and you'll see the repair bill after a couple of thousands of miles...
