    Excellent!!! This is one of the best ones in this format. One suggestion--it helps us to see some short examples of different directions we could go. The back of the Lego box always had a few other things you could build with the same pieces. Prototyping is, after all, about opening up the idea space.

    Guys, if you guys delete the Unity folder from your project, things should work normally except 2 warnings. But they're warnings that they can't find the Readme file, which we already have an exact copy of in the TutorialInfo folder, so we should be fine.

    • @shirokatake3285
      @shirokatake3285 3 роки тому +2

      There are actually 2 Readme.cs files and 2 ReadmeEditor.cs files in our project (hence the error scream), I assume this happened because the guys who made this project thought it would be nice to also include some packages that could help us learn this better, but it ended up giving duplicated files without double checking, so if we just delete one, it won't scream of that anymore. You can also choose to rename one of the Readme and one of the ReadmeEditor files to something else if you feel like they might be important for something, but so far it runs for me :)

    I really hope there is a fbx model or blend file of the boss, otherwise this is useless. I tried modelling the worm myself in Blender and import it but my bone rig looked completely different upon importing.
    EDIT: Of course there wasnt... thanks for nothing.
    In your model I only see game Objects for the body meshes, where are the bone objects in your hierarchy? I have a nested tree of game objects and bones, in blender it works perfectly, each mesh object is tied to a single bone and the bone chain does the IK. In Unity? It's a damn mess.

    I have a problem trying to import the boss to my project and make the boss follow my player. I don't understand. Why do you apply the rotation only to the model? There would be virtually no difference (except the hitbox is in its right place) if you instead just applied it to the a parent object or whatever's holding the hitbox. Or did I misunderstand something?

    • @decb.7959
      @decb.7959 3 роки тому

      The rotation isn't applied to the simulation as a force, it's applied to the model only without affecting its trajectory.

    This series is phenomenal.
    There's plenty of tutorials that will go REALLY technical, but this one just gives a nice overview, so you see the process, but also the end product and the beauty that can be achieved.
    Not necessarily a substitute to learn, but for someone who knows a bit, it's great to see this little tidbits of how far you can push the engine.
    Because people think of Unreal as the better graphical engine, but I'm still shocked even recently to see a beautiful game and find it made in Unity, not Unreal.
    So it's great to see what's involved to get these awesome features, without having to watch through 3 hours to get there :)
    Again, like I said, the 3 hours is necessary to REALLY learn, but this is nice to see what Unity can do :)
