I'm sure you were very angry... She probably thought you already had gone thru the Makeup Dept.... So if Nanette is the Shipping Dept. (and many others I'm sure)... is your Grand-daughter your Makeup Dept Chief? 😆
Thanks for the tips! I haven't been brave enough to own these species yet. I want to make sure I'm skilled and educated to take this step. Love my isopods
Thanks! I really want to bring attention to the video without being over dramatic / click baity (is that a word?). This one came pretty close to that line. Thanks again.
Barb. I have not found the Spanish orange to be that difficult. I had a video showing their setup. If you cannot find it, let me know and I will look. (when you are ready, let me know- I can send those to you as well in the upcoming shipment- and will give you a very nice discount). But when you are ready.
Don't shoot, I have a secret here! Xd I really like your intros, really nice sense of humour. Oh, here I have a nail, a hammer, and I have to wait a bit, a ghost must find a view to shoot)))))
Hahahahaa I dried the leaves I harvested for my new little buddies in the toaster oven LOL! I'm rearranging my place so the oven was blocked haha, I was SO hyper paranoid the whole time they'd ignite, but they're done and ready to use!
@@SupremeGecko Do P. scaber and P. laevis also need to get up out of the moist substrate on concave wood? I don't see them specifically in the species list in this video, so I thought I'd ask :)
@@wcdeich4 The species list was specific to the Giant Spanish isopods (the more difficult isopods). The isopods you mention do not have the VERY STRINGENT needs that the isopods featured in this video need. Hope this helps.
Great question! It simply means that science 'thinks' it is a new species and have named it such... but the official analysis and publications are still pending. Thanks for asking.
No worries. Easy changes to make. Give them some dry substrate (@60-70% of enclosure), good ventilation, and plenty of hiding places. Good luck with your Titans and let me know if you have any questions .
@@SupremeGecko thanks for the advice my only concern is that I only bought 5 to start the culture with because it was all I could afford how long do you think it would take until their first batch of babies they're all adults
How do I give my scabers ventilation and still prevent little mites from crawling out? I've tried to quarantine my plants and my setups but I haven't been able to get rid of the mites little soil mites they crawl up the condensation.
@@SupremeGecko I don't have any ventilation currently it's completely closed but I know that's wrong long-term especially for the scabers. But I keep them with a bioactive setup with a lot of moss. The moss dries out if it doesn't stay wet but if I keep it wet then the soil mites get all over the glass and I get worried that they're going to crawl out so I sealed it for now. That rus from aquaramax guy recommended 3M medical tape it's porous I think I'm going to try that I have some. Have you ever gotten soil mites how would you recommend ventilating a bioactive setup with isopods but still secure it
@@SupremeGecko okay cool thanks a lot I appreciate that cheesecloth sounds like a great idea. Can you recommend three isopod species that do really well in a nearly closed container with moss?
Have you done a video on Hassi? I can’t find many and I really want some also what size tub would you start 10 of them in? I have been starting my cultures in smaller 2-3qt containers but can I go bigger with so few isopods? What would you recommend for maximum production potential? Thanks
I have not yet. I only do videos on geckos and isopods that I am having some success with breeding. That way, I can share my experience with others to help them too. I would start them in a 12-15 qt container for sure. 6 qt is the smallest container I actually use. Max potential..... as large of a container as you can do!
Any suggestions for Porcellio Laevis “Orange”? I’ve had mine for months and they aren’t breeding at all. My Dairy Cows, however, are doing great in the exact same type of setup.
This video made me realize I accidentally must of killed my 10 mine I kept pretty moist and it’s my fault, my tropical whites are just fine and mating but upset about my giant orange, atleast I believe I haven’t seen not 1/ in 3 months …. Also made the mistake of putting them with my crested gecko 🤦♂️

Thanks Rus.
Where do they come from and will they harm a human are they poisonous
I CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF THESE INTROS! 😁

I like the idea. Have you tried adding some stacked river stones in a corner of the dry substrate as well? Heard it helps them dry out there gills.

Yes, continuity really didn't work there as I passed off the camera to Nanette. ;) But we have fun.
