I Went To See The Concert Wicked At London And When This Song Came On I Nearly Cryin Coz It Reminded Me Of My Freind Who Waz Goin Blind....And Now Reminds Me Of Talia
You'll love it , my daughter has seen it twice , has more tickets to see it again in February ( with me , my second time ) & in May , on Kerry's last night , the date of which is uncertain so she has bought tickets for 2 dates so she doesnt miss it ! She gets the dearest tickets too , spending a fortune ! Glad we dont live very far from London ! Kerry is amazing so I hope you have a great night . It's not a huge theatre but the show is fantastic , you'll come out on a high I'm sure ! Enjoy !
What a fantastic Christmas pressie for you & yes , my daughter has tickets for 2nd & 9th May so she wont miss Kerry's last night . Hope you have a great night like she will !!
The show was created for Broadway and the tradition is that the original accents are kept for subsequent versions. In the case of Wicked, as in the film of The Wizard of Oz, the characters of Oz speak with an American accent.
yes the album was called wicked in rock and the first two songs were from wicked "defying gravity" and "I'm not that girl", but kerry is also famous for originating the role of meat/meatloaf in we will rock you, she must have wanted to try a full orchestra version in her teaser CD, preferably I prefer the original cast recording version with the London orchestra but this one is still brilliant, especially the beginning, that is beautiful.
@182rooster182 It took me a while to realize the difference on this song too, but I finally get it! This is an orchestral arrangement of the song No One but You. They rocked out the two Wicked songs, but then made this rock song gentler and quieter.
@ElphabaThropp95 @DaynajustDayna it was written by Brian may for a solo project following Brian May's death. It was recorded by the remaining 3 Queen members shortly after Princess Diana passed away and was largely associated with both her and May as eulogies. And, yes, it is also in a terrible musical called "We Will Rock You" that uses the Queen oeuvre as its musical inspiration.
the reason its on here is because she sung this on the original we will rock you recording played the original meat and her and brian may wanted to do this with an orchestra :)
exactly. sadly it will probably be after then because 2010 is only half a year away so if it was to be made at any point in 2010 we would know who the cast is by now
Fair enough but you should note that for the Australian production, they all speak and sing with American accents (but are Australian performers). And I still think that the Oz accent sounds like an American accent because of the film. Wicked is based mostly on the film and not the series of books.
I don't think it should have too much emotion in this song, meat is not talking about people she knows, just about dead musicians and even if it is sad then it about more about the thing that died whit them, and why they are fighting so I think it needs to be more of a motivational song like "do you hear the people sing" from le mis less than "a little fall of rain" it is not about the people who die it is about why they are worth singing about and why.
i saw her in london with WWRY...it was better unidan82 is right...sounds a bit like a disney song...in WWRY it has more strength and much more emotion..
Yh but the title might not mean a rock song it might be "Wicked" as in songs from wicked and "in rock" as in songs frm WWRY. May not be true so dont use it against me i am just guessing
Look dude, brian wrote it because freddie died. he didnt want it to go solo. he sent it to roger and he put it away for a while. months or so later, roger listened and agreed to do it. it was coincidence that it was around the same timing as princess diana. come on man, be a queen fan and do your research.
I think Rachel Tucker sings it better.... I just don't get the emotion of the song in this version, it sounds like a Disney end credits song - its about someone dying is it not?
What does wicked have to do with this song? And I know it does have Wicked songs made "rocky" I just don't think they were very good :P Her voice sounds very good to them all but all the compositions were terribly put together!
Well I guess judging by the others it's a kinda pop/rock record - it's a bit cheesey to be rock and too rocky to be pop lol :-P I just think they ruined the compositions of the 3 songs I've heard... They used to be amazing but...
Why did she do this? She's already done it! And what's with the intro man!? It's a really weird hybrid...this is less rocky than the WWRY one!! It's not even rock ballad its like cheesey synth-pop. I preferred the WWRY one. They missed most of the best riffs here... But again, her voice is good!!! Too bad about the music to the 3 songs I've heard :( And the lyric changes to the 2 wicked ones
How can you not get the emotion? I get chills from the second Kerry opens her mouth! Lovely voice and a lovely personality!
Kerry is brilliant live in Wicked and this album just brings back the great time I had when I saw it on the West End!

i love that they've made the wicked stuff rock and the wwry stuff orchestral, it shows the versitility of the songs
Wow, an amazing voice! I can understand Brian May... And I like the "new" arrangement of the song. I think Freddie would love it...
Yay, she did my favourite riff. "And now the party must BEEEEEE over"
Wow
Absolutely outstanding!
i absolutely love it :)
her song suits it so well- powerful but still really gentle :) sooo jealous lol
YES! no good deed in rock would be soo amazing.
What a fantastic Christmas pressie for you & yes , my daughter has tickets for 2nd & 9th May so she wont miss Kerry's last night . Hope you have a great night like she will !!
god her voice is amazing.
Beautiful!
i saw her on monday night and met her after - it was amaaaazingggg =D !!!
Holy shit...this is awesome.

Thank you so much for your respond! :-D
I hope you and your daughter will enjoy the show(s) too, but i bet you will!

It's a Queen song that's featured in the show We Will Rock You.
Rock has ballads too!
i love it too!
@benadgatemusic Sorry but I take issue with your coment about We will Rock You. It is a very good musical...very humourous, and excellent music!
@ElphabaThropp95 @DaynajustDayna it was written by Brian may for a solo project following Brian May's death. I prefere the origional one, but this still rocks :D:D:D:D:D GOO kerry
It is originally written by Brian May about Freddie Mercury after he died... it was added the the musical...
the reason its on here is because she sung this on the original we will rock you recording played the original meat and her and brian may wanted to do this with an orchestra :)
exactly.

@Leajoniii Richtig! Es ist nicht in Wicked. Es ist ein Lied von Queen in WWRY. Kerry war Meat in WWRY
love this song. her voice is so rich and yummy... just makes me melt (wow i sound like i'm talking about chocolate)
In what musical is Kerry at the moment? She is so great! I love her
@bobbie406 You will love it, it is a fantastic show!
i like it
is this the same as the one she did for download?
okay, what's comming on the album more then? more wicked?
wow indeed

No that was the single, the album teaser.
@DaynajustDayna its from we will rock you
Sarah Earnshaw was without doubt the best Galinda (1st cover) I've seen!
Wicked x
haha LOVE IT :)

i thought the album came out juli 7th?
Wicked the musical is based off the book Wicked, which is based off of The Wizard of Oz move which is based off the books.
Not the akbum, the teaser single is
@joyfulL181 lol! That's what I meant to say! Oops. Thanks for pointing my typo out :)
Just out of curiosity, how is this different from the original?
Oo Oo TALIAA
well It was for Freddie - and the others who died young
Where they trained doesn't necessarily equate quality... the male lead of the last UK tour of Anything Goes is a perfect example (Laines).
no cos he released in 1995 like bounty165 says.
i saw her in london with WWRY...it was better

I understand how defying gravity is in a rock style, But how is this? && I'm not that girl?
Gorgeous Voice though :)
6 people are old.

There IS NO film of Wicked, not yet. They are making one, but it's not set to come out at least until 2010. You have been severely misinformed.
This was written for Freddie, not for Diana...
I thought it as Rock because itwas a rock record???
Which it kinda is...But its kinda cheesey pop 2
I think Rachel Tucker sings it better.... I just don't get the emotion of the song in this version, it sounds like a Disney end credits song - its about someone dying is it not?
Love most of Kerry's stuff, but she's all over the place in this one. Needs some restraint/control.
What does wicked have to do with this song?
And I know it does have Wicked songs made "rocky" I just don't think they were very good :P

Great version, but the original is better.
wow she has a great voice!! o.o
