So glad to see some Can Can Coaster appreciation here. This ride has such a rich history. The layout was designed by Franz Mack, founder of the park himself, and for many local kids (like I was) back then this was the first thrill coaster they would ride. It used to be called Eurosat and had a space theming. I swear: The forever going spiral lift was pitch black and the soundtrack in the early years (before they changed it to techno) was so intense - it was terrifying as a kid to ride this for the first time. When they refurbished it to Can Can Coaster they kept the original layout (in honour of Franz Mack), however, swapped the entire track, trains + did some improvements here and there. The ride is now a few seconds shorter as the trains pass the layout a bit quicker and that makes it so, so good. Euro Mir's layout also is a design by Franz Mack. The ride has gotten really rough in the past years and is prone to technical issues, so I hope for a re-tracking in the coming years, in a similar way as they did for Eurosat Can Can Coaster - keep the layout overall with few improvements, new trains but never change the lift soundtrack (!). Euro Mir kinda is the forefather of Time Traveller and Ride To Happiness, so again, another coaster with a great legacy.
Some strong statements about Voltron here; looking forward to the full review! Cool to see Americans going over to Germany having a good time, as a Brit who was taken to Florida every year I grew thinking Europe parks were all trash, then Google came along and I found out it was just the U.K.!
Voltron was the first rollercoaster where i was genuinely worried about the quality of the restraints. I was like "if these fail im going to tumble straight to the ground or shoot out into the bushes". My first thought after the ride was: "i think I'll pass on a second run right now, because I need time to process what just happened."
My controversal ranking: #1 Arthur #2 CanCan Coaster #3 Wodan #4 Silverstar #5 Blue Fire The rest is interchangeable besides Euromir being dead last because of its roughness. I have not been on Voltron yet, but it looks like it could easily be in the Top 3, maybe even number 1.
My Family goes to the Europapark since i wss 5-6. always was a bit scared of heights, so for the longest time i didnt roy ride any of the coasters, but i always had fun and i think thats one of the best things of the park. As i grew older and started riding coasters a whole new world opened. The best thing of the Park is that there is something for anyone. Every year i went there i had new things zo discover, because i was finally big enough to ride them. Its a perfect park for kids and adults and i think that is what makes it so special
I have ridden Voltron a few days ago for the first time. on my first ride in the morning it was a bit forceless and it wasnt my number one at the time but i rode it again 3 hours later and it was incredible: good hangtime, good airtime, solide positives and good laterals. from my 17 or 18 rides on Voltron my favorite was the one I had on 20:00 in the first row. All in All with the Theming my number one and it isnt really close to my second place F.L.Y..

BUUTTTT Voltron at 20:30 first row right feels like a different coaster. Thousand times more forcefull than mornings. This isnt a opinion. This is the truth.
To truely feel the airtime in Silverstar you have to go to row 5. Its marked and the only row I experience the airtime in the first half. You should definitly give it a second try ;)
I want the turntable section to be completed (for this season it is what it is). Couse if this section will be as cool as the launch section at the begining, with more effects and more pacing this ride can be europes best coaster. At least in mine opinion. VOLTRON AUF DIE EINS!
Nice job, this is a good reasonalble ranking and i agree for most of it. Europa Park is the showcase of Mack-Rides, which is why some of the roller coasters there are prototypes, like “Euro-Mir”, “Poseidon”, “Blue-Fire” or “Swiss Bobsleigh Track”. That's why they are rather boring because the technology was new and untested at the time. Plus: some roller coasters come from the pre-computer era, so no simulation beforehand. I'm a Europa Park fan boy and if you have any questions I can certainly answer them. Good video! Best regards from Germany, Patrick
Did you realise the reason for the sideways movement on the lift of Matterhorn Blitz is not (just) an effect but it's actually to make way for a second lift to go by. The layout is like this: | () | This allows the loading of a cart on the bottom while the previous cart is leaving the lift in the top.
Yep! It’s both practical and unnerving from an on-ride perspective, Cobra’s Curse at my home park does a similar thing, except the trains don’t tilt, the track just moves slightly sideways
Great ranking! I’ve been to the park three times this year and I have to say Voltron is a true shocker. A bit sad you didn’t like Alpenexpress Enzian though. It’s such a wonderful area and I like the ride very much. 😊
Thank you! I’m just not the biggest fan of powered coasters, although I do love the walkthrough area around it and the interaction with the flume! Great area, just not my favorite ride experience
About voltron: when i rode it zhe first time, shortly after its opening day, the doors were closed at the dark ride section and the last screens nearby the doors were actually functional as well. So it was much darker. Idk why they changed that
i found this video through reio riisna's phantasialand video, i'm going to europa with my choir in about two weeks this video was so helpful, thank you!
I love that you made the Can-Can-Coaster your No. 3. Most coasters you will sort and compare by objective facts, but then there are the few strange and odd ones that simply evoke feelings or memories that make them special beyond their mere stats. I vividly remember Phantasialand's take on Space Mountain with "Space Center", a Vekoma indoor coaster. It was at the time a thing of pure beauty, a lot of that due to the theming present on the coaster and along it's queue. That it my childhood coaster love and I wish I could be back to marathon it. The husk of it is still around, you may have seen it under the name "Crazy Bats". In between Space Center and Crazy Bats it was known as "Temple of the Night Hawk". Sadly, no subsequent version could ever match the original appeal.
That’s one of the most beautiful parts of theme parks in general, finding surprising amounts of joy in things you never expected to like. I went into this trip having not even ranked Can-Can Coaster as a ride I was excited for, and left with it as one of my favorites. That kind of stuff makes the trip so much more special
Your list is pretty spot on for me ^^ Your hot take on Eurosat is, for me, not a hot take at all. I love this ride. Yeah, it may be because the "old" Eurosat was my first "big" coaster i've ever been on as a Kid back in time when this was the wildest and biggest ride in the park. And yes, i miss the old space theme it had - but i'm sure this is just nostalgia because i rode it so much as a kid. But you are, at least in my opinion, right - it still is a great coaster and has absolutely earned it's top 3 position!

Next year is the 50 anniversary… 🥂🎂🧨💥🌈
You should know that they're currently cycling out one train after the other to fit in stabilizers. Voltron in a few months might not be the same as Voltron now, in terms of roughness. One other variable of Voltron is the second launch. For a short time in the beginning it was 90km/h and now it's 100km/h, making it more extreme with additional 10km/h for the second half of the layout. Whatever they decide to do in the future, that seems like an important variable to modify the experience of the ride and the magnitude of the forces of the second half.
