2x is great but options are even greater especially with the increase in 1x only framesets and the people who simply prefer 1x... like me

1x is here to stay, OP.

@@kuma_score75361x makes zero sense if you have 46-30 crankset and 40t cassette. No 1x in the world beats that.

No 165mm and 160mm crank length options is a masive fail from me on GRX.

While the rest of the industry goes 13 and 14 speed Shimano releases a wired 12 speed electronic groups that cost more than a full carbon bike with 14s wheeltop groupset... I have been on a 13 speed system for months now and just got my first wheeltop 14s system a few weeks ago. Shimano boldly going backwards into the future.

That's a good thing to have a double chainring groupset. Gravel bikes are made for high mountain climbs and climbing for 2 hours means there are less frictional losses with using a double chainring. Single chainring is fantastic when speed if changing all the time.

Lol the best I can get from a 2x is 30/36. That's not even close to the low 40/52 on my 13s 1x

One of my bikes has Di2 105, but I never feel comfortable taking it on really long rides. For a long distance gravel / backpacking bike, I always use a bike with a mechanical groupset. I just feel like the mechanical groupsets have better reliability.

I wonder if the reason why Shimano didn't create a 1x for this is, it can be paired with Deore Di2 RDs?

my new bike will have this groupset. it better be good. im not completelly convinced that a 100% wireless system is the best. but we will see

Someone please tell the “geniuses” from Shimano that ALL a gravel bike needs is 46/30 crank and 40t cassette. Maybe even 42

Thank God it still has wires. Wouldn't be interested otherwise.

di2 grx levers interchangeable with 105/ultegra/duraace rd/fd (like axs)?

GRX 12S 800 series mechanical shifts incredibly well. Not sure of the gain here other than a lighter wallet.

Unless you race, I don't know why you'd worry about the small amount of extra weight.......

this thing you can made your self if you already have ultegra or dura ace. you just need change your fron chain ring.😂 croder fron taiwan made chainring fit like grx one in better quality. i seen no point buying GRX di2 they have lower quality in general. more heavy, not hg+

"wireless" = still wired. :( SRAM did it right when it comes to "wireless"

Sram copied shimano because shimano had it on the prv gen

    • @petersouthernboy6327
      @petersouthernboy6327 7 місяців тому

I don’t see SRAM copying much of anything - IMO, Shimano better start copying SRAM if they want to keep up.

    • @TrickyTree84

@@petersouthernboy6327 lever ergonomics, shifter buttons with computer control, brake feel, auto trim (must be licenced) are all things on SRAM red "copy" from Shimano current and prv gens. Tbh the entire Chian, and cassette in the sram system is a complete carbon copy of the Shimano original, without the superior hyper glide, because that has a patent.
I do agree that in terms of ratios and choice SRAM are ahead for the higher level cyclists, but Shimano is miles and miles ahead in the mass market. Also I have zero interest in wireless. Wired is better unless you are a mechanic
