- If you tap your knee with a little hammer, your leg kicks out! That makes sense for those of us who have control of our limbs, but what about paralyzed people? Do they have reflexes, too? This video explains the details about how the neurons connect to each other in both non-paralyzed and paralyzed people, describing the differences between the two. The two reflexes we discuss are the patellar tendon reflex and the micturition (urination) reflex, both of which will remain intact no matter where the damage to the spinal cord occurs.
