nice demo Shane. I scored this pedal second hand a couple of weeks ago and I really really like it. Middle is the best position. For the money great pedal and trust me I've tried them all!! It stacks very well too :)
Sounds good. Like a "Next-Level Joyo" pedal, but those eq knobs and the toggle switch seem to do very little. Maybe it's youtube compression messing with my ears but i am not hearing much difference.
Matt Gilbert I have one of these and the switch is noticeable but the eq pots doesn't change so much the predominant smooth and round overdrive. It's a nice civilised overdrive.
just got one for 75$ - it sounds so nice here - i hope it does in person - stacked with my boss overdrive ....i can now get rid of my BD 2 (not so much a fan of it really)
Dude !! Surely you noticed that the Bass and Treble are almost completely ineffective until you get to around 3 o'clock !??!?! (I just bought this and cant believe it) I wish I'd paid more attention when you were "rolling in the lows" that it made no difference to the tone. Build quality top of the line ?!
The Way Huge Conspiracy Theory and Wampler V2 Tumnus klon klone pedals are that way too. If you turn the gain dials past 4, youll just start to hear some gain. Id like to get away from that too, the ability to hear gain that starts around 10 or 11 on the dial the way we anticipate. I spent over $300 on those two similar klon overdrive pedals and wasnt very impressed with either one. I hope to find some of these crude Budget pedals that can prove less marketing hype and less advertising art campaign debt inevitably house a better circuit. Which is what I think were really looking for
Yeah, cool. It's a bit hard to tell build quality over a vid. So I'll take your word on it. I just noticed the dodgy white indicators on the knobs, the finish on the enclosure looks a bit rough and I don't like the look of the hole for the Power supply.
Also little things like the washer on the clipping toggle switch half covering the text. It just looks like not a lot of thought went into the design. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great. But for not a whole lot more you could buy a Maxon OD-820. And I'm sure the build quality would far exceed the Dr.J.
@@DrivingDunkShot I look for details like those too, gloss finishes, script logos or just garage stencil handy work, whats plaguing me is that I just ordered one of these and really dont know what kind of overdrive circuit to expect inside..as if I could be buying a pedal I already own; just in a different case. More people should play guitar, we would then regularly see overdrive pedal ads throughout town and on tv and over the radio
Oh wow, I really dig this pedal a lot. Smooth and a bit warm :)

Love this channel, thanks a bunch mate!
Sounds good but the hissing/noise.. is that natural for overdrive pedals? So have to add noise gate after?

Yeah I got one and really like it. A very modern sounding "vintage" overdrive if that makes sense.
Matt Gilbert Glad to know this. Enjoy!
Its a slightly useless type pedal..I had it.
what did you not like ? what did you want out of it ? cheers

Where did you get that jacket?
GAP in San Fransisco in 2010 lol.
pelamor
Sounds alright. But the builds quality looks very poor. You get what you pay for I suppose.
It feels great, I think these are a step up on some of the regular joyo pedals for example the casing on pedals like the sweet baby overdrive. :)
