I like what he remarks about 1v1 in FPS games like Quake being closely comparable to RTS games like WC. I have always contested that, if looking at difficulty regarding online competitive games, they are the peak of their genres (along with Starcraft, obviously). Quake III OSP is still the most high skillcap multiplayer game ever, given it's absolute reduction of luck from the equation and natural mirrored balance (map structure aside). I have always been super impressed with top level RTS gamers like Grubby, Maru and Hero who can manage and control so much going on and rarely put a click out of place. Similarly I am in awe of Quake legends such as Cooler, Unkind, Rapha, Toxic etc by observing a 15 minute duel when both they and their opponent are peaking in confidence. eSports at it's most magnificent and nailbiting.
great use of Avatar of vengeance when you left it at his base to destroy his mine. Probably should have retrained to shadow strike earlier. but what a win. was close. great use of invul to block coil. your opponent had an amazing shadow strike dodge with garg stone form. he also played well. shoulda gotten cryptlord to impale warden for free hits on her or DL for sleep/carrion.
proof a well equipped hero can win game, awesome! you should do a whole masterclass series on dominating with every hero. different skill builds if you want to expand on the concept...
hey grubby, if you're in the mood for an oldschool fps campaign, i'd suggest DUSK. it's similar to quake, and it's honestly my favorite of the genre when it comes to single-player!
It would be better if the races spawned in their Neutral race colours of the original warcraft3. Undead is Purple... Night Elf is TEAL... and not always red and blue. Or at least randomise the colour pallet to make it more intresting.
a mix of hippos and talons is prob good vs gargs. and a panda too. the gargs cant get to melee range wihtout facing severe AOE from a warden and panda, and the talons will take shots at them from afar.
You played Battlerite Royale? Should have played the actual game, Royale was terrible, but OG Battlerite is fantastic. That being said its possibly the furthest thing away from an FPS besides maybe a TCG or board-game lol.
Load times, clarity during fight problems, lag problems, less maps, just a lot less reliable and smooth as wc3, less players, disconnects/crashes, those are the reasons most pros agree they are not playing it. I got back into wc3 with reforged and once I switched to base wc3 it's hard to play reforged now
14:55 why would you continue this battle and not run?? You lost your hero and you lost so many units in a fight where you are outnumbered plus he has a DH so he can just heal his units

Not OP. Got weaknesses and counters like kinda squishy, needs lots of mana to be useful, counter with silence, mana drain, burst damage. Also ult is kinda situational - need corpses or it's kinda meh. But in right situation (like this one), very strong. Could say the same about many other heroes too. Situationally powerful != over powered, especially when creating that situation is not guaranteed.

If he had retrained earlier he wouldn't be able to finish the bottom right gold mine, the re-training was just on point. What an awesome game

I got back into wc3 with reforged and once I switched to base wc3 it's hard to play reforged now
