The bay (MDR) has been slow for some time now, not sure where the spotties are holding, but they aren't in the regular spots. Been on the yak mostly. Maybe just have lock jaw due to the colder water. Looking forward to spring time and an uptic. I need to get back to my roots on foot patrol. I remember last year when the lockdown started, I went on foot patrol at night and had a blast with some decent fish. Used 4 inch worms and fish slow and low tight to the walls. It produced big time. Good luck and tight lines!
Tough night spottie sessions. Mostly fishing the channel, rock structure and eel grass. Low and slow, using swim jig with a rage crawl trailer. Hopefully it starts biting soon.
@@WARBAITS sometimes night fishing is better. My best is 5 fish at 2.5-3 lb spotties. On the under spin with a keitech trailer or lately, the swim jig with the rage crawl. I lost a nice one over a rock.
Been getting lots of spottys at mission bay with crankbaits deep diver 10-12 ft bouncing them of the bottom darker colors dont tell lol great content 🤙
One of the slowest winters in the NOC. I usually fish bigger baits to filter out smaller fish, but dinks are even far and few between. Cold water has been hovering around 57-58, but the bite picks up when it reaches 60+ here. Had to scale down to 4-5" baits and super duper slow retrieve. That did certainly help, but still only smaller models. Good luck everyone!
@@WARBAITS yeah, went to Harbor Island yesterday. Even though it feels good to fish again, I got skunked. Maybe I'll try again this weekend, if them bass willing bite.
Love your videos and detailed narrations on the various techniques and products you use. I've purchased quite a few of your underspin products. Question - are all soft baits created equal? Sometimes I have difficulty finding the color, shape and size of the swimbaits you use on the your underspins. A lot of times they are sold out or not available. Do you have 2 or 3 goto brands? Thx
Swimbaits are definitely not created equal. I fish all types of plastics. MC Swimbaits are great. But common bodies like Keitech are very universal. Remember, they are plastic and fish will destroy them all.
@@WARBAITS yeah had to go back to my roots and use that 1/4 oz warbaits underspin with that gold willow. 3.3 sexy shad keitech with that underspin saved me from the skunk 👍
@@WARBAITS also a quick question. Do you think you will ever produce a 1/8th oz or just a small warbaits head ever? I would love to have a warbaits finnese series in my arsenal!
I’ve been doing quite well. Mostly on 3/8 oz Warbaits underspin paired with Keitech or 6th Sense Devine swimbaits. I’ve also caught a few on Ned rigged Gulp baits and the Barrett Roach swimjig.
Just got a new kayak and made some night runs to the bait barge and haven't had much luck tossing tubes, lead heads and dropshotting. Buddy of mine I've been going with snagged a couple on a 3" chartreuse dropshot but super hit or miss fishing overall in the bay for me. Been meaning to try out Mission Bay and see how it's gettin down over there.
yeah i been skunked all week too in shores line mission and harbor... ill be getting a kayak and a inflatable boat for summer time hope to catch you in the bay or offshore one day
Thank you I appreciate the reply I also have a foot peddle kayak w fish finder and would love to fish w you sometime let's get out there and catch that GIANT 👍 also I thought it was so cool you send a appreciation letter when ordering your baits your awesome keep up the great videos
Winter this year has been incredibly tuff. My number #1 bait that has brought me the best luck is definitely the swimjig paired with a red trailer for spotties. I went out yesterday and I was devastated to lose four fish. I went out today and lost one bite. This winter has been a pretty big hit or miss. Hopefully this warmer weather coming will spark up the fish to bite!
I have been catching lots of bay bass out of the two lagoons up here in Carlsbad. I have the Maxim in a 7’7” heavy paired with a Kastking crixus and all of your under spins have been doing great. I have been using the blue shad and the bishop paired with some Keitech swim baits! Thanks for the awesome swim bait heads and under spins.
lots of shorts these last weeks on kayak, foot, and boat but we did stick a nice halibut on a 3/4 ranger underspin with I think a blue ghost kei tech next to bait barge :) tight line man great video
Fishing has been rough for me as well I fish los AL BAY 90 percent off the time . At night is when get all my fish, creature baits crawled really slow, hot sauce off course also Berkeley gulp jerkshad produces with a weighted hook for a slow fall
It’s been real slow for me at that last spot u we’re at that’s my go to spot and it’s been real slow for me I’ve mostly used major craft jig para spins but haven’t really got bit hopefully I see you out there some time would be dope fishing with you
I'm running a slx dc on a Phoenix feather and a few others but it's my favorite and when I donkey double rig the warblades they love it and double up constantly been having 40ish fish days thanks for the amazing baits that work so well
Bite at Dana has been slow I’ve been grinding 5+ inch baits for a few week tons of bites only got some decent sand bass but no spotties . Fishing ned rigs and dark sleepers have been doing well.
Bishop underspin looks 🔥🔥🔥 As for the slx and curado DC’s - I heard they don’t hold up too well in the salt. Lmk how they last I’m interested in your take.
So far, all good. I know the Shimano Field Test Agent that tests new reels. He runs them in salt and said they are solid. I'll let you know though, I have a few in the line up. It's definitely weird casting a DC then casting a non-DC. Probably looking at the Tranx 200 next
@@WARBAITS I have the whole tranx lineup (200-500) and they are great in salt. Definitely worth a look since you use the 500. But I was curious about the DC’s, looking forward to your reviews on em!
Try dropping to the 40G! They have been wanting the smaller size lately. I’ve been letting the bait sit on the bottom for a second or two before winding up. Seems to get more bit. Also catching most bass 25-40’ deep range. No shallow eats in a while
Been getting some bites off the yak along tht long stretch of beach right next to where you were at 4:40, but like you said it’s slow rn. Dope video as always🤙🏽
Maaannnn if I ever related to a video, it would be this one. 🦨 Hahaha 🤣 the water has been cold up here in Oceanside/Carlsbad. Or tide was off. It’s been hit and miss. I’ve had luck under the docks. But that’s pretty much it.
Bro its been rough out there. Especially on tournament days! It's like all the fish get a memo and they decided to not eat🤣 I been noticing the fish aren't biting like normal here in oc/la having to really grind it out. Match the hatch a little more then this time last year.
The bay’s been pretty tough. I’ve finally got a pattern together but they’ll eat only this one specific bait in this one specific area for me. Can’t get bit on any other bait so the bite is definitely really specific and not wide open in the slightest. But i’ve been having Good days
I've been killing it on the yak w spottys and halibut at glorietta bay from the ramp to the end of the navy docks on the warblades A rig and j para spin by major craft I'd love to meet you and fish together sometime hmu
Great vid !!!
I need to head down to SD

Good to know im not the only one feeling the cold so cal low bite count🤙
It was slow for me this week also
@@WARBAITS my harbor is Dana Point. Its been cold shouldering me for a good minute🥶
