We are once again trapped in the torment that is our mission maker’s obsession with recreating World at War missions in Arma. Also happy new year everyone! January is probably going to be super chill with some fun videos I’m working through so I'm pumped to get to those!
Fun fact: in real life, the flame-throwers used by the US wouldn’t combust in a ball of flame unless caused by a big explosion like artillery to ignite it. Instead, if a bullet did pierce through, the operator could be flung by the pressured tanks blasting out in a random direction. So if it got hit in the back, it could actually become a makeshift jetpack and throw you forward - but rarely did it explode
This is a very good reenactment of the Pacific Theater missions from World at War. The only thing it was sort of missing was that Jay was not constantly backing up every five seconds during the assault because the enemy would be throwing about 40-50 grenades. He did have to back up once though, so close enough. I distinctly remember back then running around in the trenches by the beach trying to find a safe place to duck because my grenade indicators made almost a perfect circle.
I missed the "missions from World at War" the first time I read this and thought that you were actually there, and they gave you grenade indicators. That would've been nuts
I mean, that happened in several actual battles of that war. There's one ridge on Okinawa in particular where japanese and american soldiers just spent pretty much a whole day just tossing grenades at each other without ever having a line of fire, with both sides sending runners to get more 'nades to the frontline...
Some Fun Facts: Peleliu is one of 16 states of the island nation of Palau, which was settled by migrants from South East Asia over 3000 years ago, before claimed by Spain in 1885, sold to Germany after the Spanish-American War, and given to the Japanese after WW1. After WW2, Palau would form a democratic republic with assistance of the United States and it's Navy, who continued to occupy it. In 1947 Palau became a Trust Territory of the US (Like Guam), and finally gained total sovereignty in 1994 under free association of the United States. Palau is also the 5th smallest country in the world by population(16,766 total residents) and 16th by area(466 sq km or 180 sq mi) As a resident and natural born citizen of Palau, it is a small, but simple and beautiful place with a rich history and culture I believe all can enjoy. Love to all from Palau🇵🇼 (Disclaimer: I'm from Ngatpang not Peleliu) (Also COD:WAW is top tier and I never expected Jay would make a Pacific Theater event)
Elmo always loves the smell of bbq's. Brings him great joy remembering all the lives he took. The memories of hearing his enemies screaming from burning alive, calms his blackened soul.
@JDealer18 I mean you don't need to tell me that I literally suffered greatly as my father had ptsd from Vietnam and guess who he unintentionally took it out on sometimes?
4:48 That is a power move. Banzai charging the Japanese with a katana you nabbed off of one of their own officers XD Also, Elmo with a flamethrower when combined with typical Ignis insanity is just a recipe for so many war crimes and blue on blue incidents XD 8:11 God fucking bless the United States military's logistics
Hey Rubix! Since you guys did Peleliu in this op, I thought I’d share how canned Peanuts saved my Great Grandfather’s life when he was there in ww2! The gist of it is that as they were preparing for the landings, soldiers were packing as much food as they could into their gear and webbing. My grandfather had stashed somewhere along the lines of 8-12 cans of peanuts in his! This saved his life when he got caught between the hull of the ship and the LCVP he was boarding when the tide lifted the LCVP and smashed it against the side of the ship! The cans expanded in his webbing stopping his ribcage from being ground into dust. They were too far along to haul him back up to the ship they were on, so they pulled him into the LCVP and had a medic dose him with a large amount of morphine. He survived and recovered but spent a good chunk of the landing loopy from painkillers. Hope you guys do more ops like this, and thanks!
In my US military history class we had to read a book called with the old breed about a soldier who served in WW2 and was apart of this actual battle and taking the airfield. So cool. Also thanks for the great content.
Anyone else notice that apart from the Christmas special Tails hasn’t been in many of these ops recently? The lack of his unique brand of ‘stupid’ is noticeable.
Hey fun fact about Pelelieu island. Logistics dropped the ball during the invasion and the water the marines got was delivered in oil drums that contaminated all of it. Oh also the temperature was 110+ Fahrenheit. Have fuuuuun Oh also “Don’t worry, the platoon leader just beat a guy to death with his handgun” is accurate to the battle
World At War was the first CoD game i ever played, ig got it on steam and i have over 107 hours in it between solo campaign (where i can recite every line) and the original zombies with my friends
Hell of a way to start the new year by watching the insanity that is Ignis. And somehow, after binge watching and binge listening to some of the whackiest things that have happened throughout the Second World War, Ignis' shenanigans sound like they would perfectly fit as a whacky WW2 incident, complete with logistics officers and commanders and the like just wondering what in the Sam Hell just happened. Also, 6:15 is accurate. The entire Pacific War was just a really WILD season of Takeshi's Castle.
Iknew my Great Grandfather was in the pacific during WW2, but what I recently found out that surprised me was that he was in the Army, it surprised me because the Pacific Island Hopping campaigns in my mind were labelled as Marine campaigns despite the fact I knew Army troops were there from watching "The Pacific" series. And now my questionably intelligent self has been in the Army for almost 3 and a half years now.
Hey rubix. I love your content. I found you back when I found your deadrot scp video, and have binge watched your stuff ever since. You have made my days brighter and funnier with your videos. I bought your gamer supps stuff and it was an absolute banger. From 2024 to 2025, you rock. Keep your chin up and a happy new year
Jay stop posting awesome content! My brain can't be filled with more awesome Ingnis content (Also hope that there is another recruitment drive soon I'd really like to be in these ops)
FINALLY I WAS WAITING FOR A PACIFIC ARMA 3 MISSION, YEAAHHH!!!!!!!!!! no really though, I make a lot of pacific type missions just for my self and one other friend and we love playing them, but to see others create it for a massive group is just amazing!
"He did it again and I was like 'That's it. As-Allam alaykum.'" is tied with "This is a weird season of Takeshi's Castle" for my favourite lines in this video.
Goddamit, ww2 marine power pure. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IS THAT ONE OF OURS!
Happy New Year to you and the rest of the guys.
Is there a way to join the ARMA group that you have these events in?
Right before I went to go watch the interview of Walter fillapek
Thanks this brought back childhood memories of playing World at War.
I imagine enemy soldiers throwing a grenade and then hearing Rubix's Wilhelm scream and counts it as a confirmed kill
me smiling when i realise i did a funnies

So yur tellin' me, if I shoot ma flamethrower... I could fly? SOMEONE SHOOT MA TANK!!
I would still take the instant death of combustion over being flung around a battlefield at 600MPH.
@@Bettermadness_YT Also the pieces of the tank now going through you at rather unsafe speeds would tend to be rather sharp.

Sir, as a zoomer degenerate who has only played BO2, and B06, and WWII, what difficulty were you playing on?
@Bettermadness_YT Judging by the grenade spam, I'd guess Veteran.
Japanese soldiers could put a hand grenade in your pocket from 20 yards away, that's what World at War taught me.
I mean, that happened in several actual battles of that war. "This is a weird season of Takehsi's Castle." Give this man a promotion.
Seeing the quote "Dead as hell" always makes me laugh
that guy played Koopman's part really well

I like how Jay fighting the Japanese in a jungle and he's calm as a cucumber. The Vietnamese on the other hand and he's slobbering raving mess.
the generational PTSD of Vietnam is a lot fresher on our American minds than the pacific lol

As one of the last rare breed of gamers to still be using Teamspeak 3 the command bit made me flinch.
You and Soviet Womble keeping teamspeak going
Protect this man he is an endangered species.
A whole lot of Arma units still use Teamspeak for in game stuff
worst premade ever also still uses teamspeak,,,,,,,,,,,,,

i always love the chaos he has in his videos
Roleplaying a video game in a videogame. We have come far from the discovery of agriculture.

how dare you not commit to the gag
now you are cursed to gag on something
Memories of my first cod game, the good old days,
“We gotta get outa here”
Now we need a Takeshi's Castle Stormed by Idiots video.
Since the ending reminded me of Universal Soldier, you should do an universal soldier opp, where you all get wrecked by Dolph Lungren and his buddies.
Happy new year Jay let's hope the mental state survives to the end of the month, the end of the year is a big ask
Good work marines! Regroup at the treeline!
You know even with all the Tom foolery, you guys actually did pretty well.
