That looks and sounds really nice, I never thought using straw would create such a nice looking pattern after you put the varnish on. I'd certainly consider buying one if you had a website to sell these on.

Is it possible to buy one of these? I love playing the ocarina and have several purple clay ocarina’s from STL and Imperial City. But after seeing this video I must have one of yours!
I'm pretty sure they're just called clay tools depending on your location you can usually find them at hobby lobby Michael's Joannes and other craft stores hope this helps
When it comes to sounds,it depends on an airway or sound edges. But if u get a good sounds u should try over and over. It isnt enough just only first try. Hope u make a good ocarinas thanks.

The burning with the rice straw and adding the natural varnish give it a really nice look
