"Say a word out of line and you find that the friends you had are gone... forever" - so true today with social media! It´s my favorite among Billy´s songs.
Why did radio stations in my homeland of Indonesia never play this song? I just knew this song and listened to it for the first time in my life when I moved to the US a few years ago. I found this song fits my ears. Thanks :)
+Tim Shelton I've had Italian Restaurant in my head for a couple days now which is why I'm now on youtube watching other Joel tunes. The man is an incredible talent.
So true! That's why I'm here now. This song is so catchy! I think all his songs are. I just keep getting his songs stuck in my head. Cant stop listening to em! :]
@@therealgaragegirls An innocent man, the bridge, and stormfront had some good ones, but at least in my opinion they don’t stack up to the glory of the Stranger, 52nd street, Glass houses and The nylon curtain which is all great songs again in my opinion.
I love playing piano. I was learning to play it in when i was 16 but lost interested because of no momentum to push me further but Billy is the light in the tunnel to me and i will learn to the last breath to play all his songs
My Dad passed away in 1983 from ALS. He loved this song. And Billy Joel's music. My Dad was 52. I was 23. He passed on August 18, 1983. Miss you! Love you! 😎😪
Billy, you are the greatest of all time! There is nor was anyone like you between your writing, your singing, and your showmanship. You are totally unique with your versatility as well and that’s one of the main things that separates you from the rest. What a talent, what a showman, and what a band! Not to shortchange anyone else in the band, but how about how hard the drummer Liberty Devito is working? Thanks for all the great music and memories Billy.
My all time favourite. Brings back many memories, when I was in std 7 (grade 9). "So many faces in and out of my life Some will last, some will just be now and then Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes I'm afraid it's time for goodbye again" awesome!!!!
I'm on a Pandemic drive down memory lane. I had pimples, hair that looked more like a mop on my head And "Songs in the Attic" blaring in my Mercury Comet.
Probably my favorite BJ song and as been so since the early 80s when I first heard it on Songs in the Attic. I loved that live one more than Turnstiles.

he is so inspirational and his lyric said something and meant something about the time we were living in also some lyrics were profetic . I know he is still around today but the industry does nothing to promote him and its only people who remember his music left to promote it .
A great tribute to Ronnie Spector and the music that Billy grew up with. A shame this one isn't quite as well remembered as "Uptown Girl" and "For The Longest Time".
He truly is the greatest to have ever done it. Wish he released something outside of his classical album after '93, but he still gave us a legendary catalogue
I get what you mean but it’s like why there is no Sopranos spin-off. Wanted to coast now that he was at the top, 22 years of groundbreaking albums, but it could never be enough Joel though.

When you get a Billy Joel song in your head, it is best to just go ahead and listen to it. They're really just that good.

That Phil Spector sound and beat is executed perfectly.

1 of a kind...great songwriter and great singer. At a time when punk, rock, disco were dominating he was a top notch performer
First Comment!!!! Great song Billy. You are the greatest musician that will ever live
Sin duda! Uno de los mas grandes de la musica. Internacional en la historia!
Excelente Billy Joel, gran canción. Uno de los mejores del siglo XX

Prime Billy here….he killed it in Philadelphia with Capt Jack as an encore at several shows.
Beautiful concert, beautiful album
He’s as good now as he ever was! Love his voice!

Good to see Richie Canata on Sax...truly great player of a range of instruments in the early days.

Through the lights in a hot new rent-a-car
He joins the lover in his heavy machine
It’s a scene down on Sunset Boulevard
Say goodbye to Hollywood
Say goodbye, my baby
Say goodbye to Hollywood

And his style is so right for troubadours
They got him sitting with his back to the door
Now he won’t be my fast gun anymore
Say goodbye to Hollywood
Say goodbye, my baby
Say goodbye to Hollywood
Say goodbye, my baby
Moving on is a chance that you take any time you try to stay
Together
Say a word out of line and you find that the friends you had are gone
Forever, forever
So many faces in and out of my life
Some will last, some will just be now and then
Life is a series of hello’s and goodbye’s
I’m afraid it’s time for goodbye again
Say goodbye to Hollywood
Say goodbye, my baby
Say goodbye to Hollywood

@ChangingTides777and I think Billy has held up pretty bloody well now, better than her, given the work she’s had.
