McGonnagel never got a birth date. Its all based on Fan theorys becaus shexsayed she is teaching Transfigurations for 50 years.
However Dumbledore was still head of the Departement untill them. Mcgonnagal was more a Substitutitute teacher that lived in Hogwarts and helpdd Dumbledore as he Was already a Well knewn and asked for Wizard.dumbledore also clearly helped teach other classes when ever he neded to Jump in.
The Real life readon for Dumbledore teachong DATDA is that the Film makers thought Transfiguration would be boring and JK rowling is ok with them changing things aslong as they dont Ruin the Main theme of the Story wich is in FB i think Power and what it can Do to you. Ther Hit this Team very well

But so many ppl had a firm opinion (and probably still do) that this was a retcon
Sadly the third part wasn't that fun and some of the stuff felt a little dull or forced or both at once...
But I still want to see a fourth film...and no one knows if they will ever announce that
