He should get his challenge back if the technology related to the challenge fails to work. The umpire is useless

    • @flyersloyalist

kevin alexander no he should not get the challenge back because the overall system didn’t fail to work. It was the graphical portion that didn’t work. The chair revived confirmation from the review official that the ball was in and thus still loses the challenge.
Had he announced that Hawkeye was completely unavailable and that we would have to go with the original call, then both you and Roger would be correct.

trwent , the review official in the Hawkeye booth and the Hawkeye technician can see whether the ball was in or out even if the Virtual Reality graphic fails to display on the big screen. They simply communicated this to the chair umpire via the radio.

player has a right to challenge and then if Hawkeye doesn't work that challenge becomes void and you have to go with the original call cus what else can you do? but the challenge hasn't been fulfilled so for the umpire to take that away is really unfair. idk what it says in the book but if the umpire decided to at least keep federer's remaining challenge no one would have had a problem with that.

I like Novak a lot. But you can't deny that he just acts like a dick sometimes.
Like he did in the Olympics recently.
Novak just can't get a hold of his temper sometimes, and he ends up smashing or throwing his raquets constantly. But before that he goes on saying things like "Pressure is a priviledge..." and then he can't handle the pressure and smacks his raquet.
So? How does he expect the audience to react? Clapping and supporting him while overlooking such behaviour? Not gonna happen.
Rafa and Roger on the other side have also lost their temper, but you can't say that those things happen as often as they happen to Novak.
