Forgot to say, this album sounds like Hardwired, but it sounds more "natural" than it. It may be better than Hardwired who knows. About every member: James Hetfield sounds raw after a long time, his voice is the best one since Load era, he is really on point again. Lars however sounds like... Lars. Doesn't change his style on every song, making them sounds the same song for an hour. It surely annoys, but at least he is on tempo. Kirk Hammett did a 50/50, sometimes his solos were good to decent, or they are just bad to really bad. But he improved this time. Robert Trujillo did his best job on Metallica so far, he is the longest serving bassist, but just now he was really used by them. Anyway, his bass is on point.
I love to see everyone’s differing opinions! It’s fun comparing and contrasting since we all have our own unique views on each track. For me, 6/12 songs on this album were S tier to me. Those songs included: Inamorata, Room of Mirrors, 72 Seasons, You Must Burn!, Crown of Barbed Wire, Chasing Light. I’m really glad they were able to deliver for my liking! Album is a strong 8 or even a light 9 and I believe they surpassed Hardwired easily. However, no song on here is better than Spit Out the Bone imo haha!

I'll be honest...I haven't been able to enjoy a whole Metallica album since Master...but 72 Seasons is just that, an collection of songs that as a whole are enjoyable to listen to. Sure there's the weak one like Shadows Follow in my own opinion and I do like the instrumental mix on Screaming S as it makes the system in my car bump rather nicely and is kind of a fun song musically. The title track does manage to rip your face off if loud enough as well. Granted everyone has their own thoughts on the new album and these are mine, take as you wish and I do know tomorrow on the way to work I'll br cranking the ever loving snot out of this one and having my dual 12s in the trunk of my car give me a nice back massage!
I know music taste differs but sorry man... You can't overlook Shadows Follow, You Must Burn!, Crown of Barbed Wire and Chasing light. These are fantastic fantastic songs that can become classics. Mirrors and Too far gone are in the same category though. Inamorata while very good, not better than Unforgiven 3 for example. Overall this is an amazing album. Can't compare with the first 4, but it's close to the Black album IMO. Just listen to it a few more times and it will click. It's a grower.

It's, in my opinion, the best song on the album along with 72 Seasons and Shadows Follow by a mile....everyone's got their own opinion....i HATE Room Of Mirrors, in my opinion it's like Crown Of Barbed Wire, boring as f@@@@ and i don't care if i ever hear it again....apart from those 2 songs, what you said is spot on 😊

Agree with all of this. If darkness had a son is overrated and overplayed and they should play inamorata or room of mirrors... those are sooo much better
For me this video is way too generous. This album has so many flaws. Overly long sounding songs, repetitive riffs and sections, lack of creativity, the drumming is too loud, the drumming is so stock and boring, the solos are all cut and paste blues wankery, and the album literally de inspires me. The only upside is James sounds good. It is my least favourite Metallica album now.
