I just saw Rodrigo y Gabriela tonight at a Mountain Stage performance at West Virginia University in Parkersburg. They only played four songs (there were several other acts) but they were the only ones to get a standing ovation. High energy, percussive music with a flamenco influence infused with their "thrash metal" background. Very nice music!
Exelente muy bonito el tema las guitarras se escuchan muy bien y pues profecionales o amagteurs esta pagina es para todo mundo asi que adelante y que Dios los bendiga siempre!!
Seen these guys live twice. Had heard their first album and thought they were brilliant, then saw them live and realised it was just two spanish guitars. They produce such a full sound, and cover Metallica songs! Legends, absolute legends.
Legends, saw them last year in my hometown, Waterford, in southern Ireland. Amazing Music. Amazing Talent. For any1 who doesnt know them, they do spanish guitar versions of old Metal songs. Mettallica to GNR. Great Stuff.
I've always enjoyed watching them. If you've played much classical or flamenco guitar it's easy to pick up gabriela's part. Lots of fun to play. I recommend anyone that plays check out some flamenco guitar lessons so they can play it.
I used to (try to) play guitar when I'm was younger, and now, every time when I'm listening tamacun i feel a bit sadness becouse i didn't try that harder. They are amazing!
They both seem well safe too, and with antics like playing slide guitar with a half full bottle of beer then drinking it, and full on shred and percussive playing on a classical guitars, you can't knock their showmanship either. Live in Manchester and Dublin is probably a good introduction to thier live sound, even if it is a few years old now.
saw rodrigo y gabriella in sky venue in portlaoise in ireland last year, really small venue, holds about 200 max. they were absolutely amazing, mind-blowing. they're gonna be huge
I'm embarrassed to say, as a Dubliner, to have just discovered them...I must live in a cave. This is a masterclass in musicianship and symbiosis....fuerza y exito!
Seen them live a couple of times as a student in Bristol. Truly outstanding. Also, as they were in a metal band in Mexico, they love to play rock and metal covers as encores etc, awesome to see a bit of Metallica, Led Zep and Pink Floyd mixed in with their flamenco-jazz-rock-fusion sound. He even cracked out a bar or two of Slayer for us.
i saw them at bonnaroo and holy shit it was fucking amazing! i had never heard of them before and i am certainly glad i caught their set. i'm going to get their album for sure
Woah this is cool! you guys should check their dvd out! the special features menu has lessons on! and you wouldn't believe how hard those rythms parts are lol!!! plus this guy can seriously shred!
Nearly, actually the bar chord sequence is Am, G C, E. This varies using from bar chords to using open chords on the E and C. The guitar rythem knocking thingy is the really hard part.
Wholly shit man, they're freaking awesome at guitar, you gotta love that coordination! And i love how she makes the guitar sound like a freaking percussion instrument lol!
yeah well, as soon as you put something up on youtube other than lame comments, we'll be sure to check it out. these two are genuinely talented...awesome!
As a guitarist for 40 years I really appreciate this performance. I have never heard the artic monkeys ( yet I will do a search)but like banjo pickers and metal shredders this would get old after a song or two. really needs some vocals to be serious entertainment IMHO
tamacun is the name of the song and R y G are based in Ireland. My guess is this is from this years oxeygen music fest or the electric picnic fest (rolling stone said that electric picnic was "the best festival they've ever been to"!!, what an endorsement!).
Wow! Even faster than on the album. Flying fingers and a killer strum.

Leon, you obviously know a lot about music. You are clearly very well educated so we should all probably bow to your superior knowledge.
