Great video. I’m thinking of purchasing my first Wrangler. Seller says she needs Shock Body Mount Replaced. What purpose does the Shock Body Mount serve? As a motorcycle guy, just not sure what this parts does or how safe the vehicle is with/without this repair done immediately.
Not sure exactly what they would mean by shock body mount. You will have shock mounts and body mounts. Either is typically not catastrophic, missing a shock could cause some rough riding and potentially a drive ability issue if for some reason the jeep start bouncing a lot. A bad body mount could really only cause damage to the body, unless you have multiple body mounts bad. Thanks Dave B
@@TabooCustoms wow. That's pretty amazing. I've been doing the driver side rear first with your kit. It took an hour just to losses the lug nuts, jack it up, remove the fuel filter and fuel line, then another hour cutting the remaining shock tower out of the way, grinding down the top of the frame and now, cutting the old tower from the back of the frame. Cutting the back out is not too easy with an angle grinder. Not a ton of room. So far, I'm about 2+ hours on the driver side rear and I have not started welding yet lol. I suspect welding will be the easy part.
what is rtv or what are you putting in between the shock plate to keep water out
Regular automotive gasket rtv

How long did this job take?
If things go well it can be done in an hour.
