I see lots of comments about you not using rolls because it’s zoysia. There are lots of different types of Zoysia. We get Zion Zoysia in rolls in the metro Atlanta area. What kind of Zoysia do you typically lay down? You’re right about the pricing difference. Up here Bermuda is real popular and it’s the cheaper option. Zion or Emerald(my favorite) Zoysia is the pricier sod. We don’t do a lot of centipede or St Augustine where I’m at. Thanks for sharing.
I do 1 pallet minimum St Augustine Muck Sod from south Florida and im in central Florida. $.55 Tear Out , $1.75 Sqft Install and the Sod is $225 Delivered 400 sqft.
We have a minimum dollar amount for sod jobs. Enough to make it worth our time. We qualify customers on the phone before driving to their property to provide them with an exact quote.
Sod isn't big in my area. Seeding/overseeding is and we are doing that While in Tampa, I offered sod installation for many years. 500sf minimum (it had to be in one area, not piece work). I stopped doing it around 2019. It was cheaper to sub it out for me. I did tackle a large sod job for one client in 2021. Their backyard was a complete swamp and we gave them a nice area for their son to play soccer. It was around 8000sf. I'm glad that you enjoy the sod work. I always hated it. It just wasn't profitable enough for us due to all of the competition ( especially with the sod suppliers offering to install it for a few pennies more per square foot than I could purchase it)
I’m just amazed you putting down those little squares of sod. Our sod comes in 2x5 ft rolls.
Sounds like you’ve never laid Zoysia.
@@matthiggins9651 we don’t have Zoysia. Why doesn’t it come in rolls?
@@EuroYardServiceToo thick. It won’t roll
@@matthiggins9651 got it. Thanks for letting me know. Learn something new every day 👍

Any of you guys doing sod yet or just sticking with mowing for now?

Mowing and landscaping for now. To hot for sod at this time lol
Would love to but just Solo for now. Do you charge a “skid steer use” fee? Obviously fuel but what about the skid being on the property? Thanks!

Im just sticking with mowing for now. Once i get to a certain amount then I’ll think about adding another service.
Green side up? No wonder why my sod never took! Hahah. Hilarious.
Cant you buy rolls of sod and save the back breaking part and reduce labor? Let the skid carry the weight, speed up day 2.
St Augustine, bahia and zoysia are not available in rolls in Florida.
